I'M A LUCKY GIRL, I FOUND MY FRIENDS
This Joni Mitchell lyric really hits the nail on the head! I'm so very grateful for the online group of crafting friends that have become part of my life xx I had a lovely birthday last Friday and thank you to the gorgeous gals who sent me handmade cards:
From Lynne, Julia, Helen, Cindy, Jo and Annie plus Kim and Sue, two local mates. I love them all, so bright and cheerful. Plus Eva from Austria (a blog reader who's become a penpal) made me this:
Just beautiful and so clever. I really must get my free machine foot back out!
I had fabric vouchers from the boys which I've already spent! Plus Rhys got me this from his weekend away in Winchester:
A gorgeous little enamel and crystal brooch which has already taken pride of place on my purple denim jacket! I love the little cotton reel. My boys do give exceedingly good prezzies xx
The JanCave hasn't really seen that much action this week, I'm still cutting out bits and bobs:
And sorry, the C stuff is still out in force...
Pinning sets of three pieces that will become gnomes eventually! G's sister sent me some fabric that she got from a charity shop:
All cotton, some still had the Doughty's paper labels on. These will come in handy, they're all of the same tone aren't they? I see a quilt coming on.
Most of my crafting time has been spent knitting:
...and sewing up! I've been distributing yarns, patterns and embellishments around various friends who are helping out lol! I tried a new pattern which takes a basic body and can turn into a snowman/gnome/Santa/ Reindeer. It's ever so easy, I've really enjoyed knitting some up.
Rudolph! Cute huh? I made up my own antlers, the pattern's were just too faffy and I think they look ok. I might morph this into a baby penguin as well, we'll see if it works out or not!
Hope you've had a good week, thanks for turning up and reading my nonsense again, I do really appreciate it xx

Your talents are neverending! Designing reindeer antlers now.🤣 He is really cute and they look perfect. Lovely birthday cards and your new brooch is just right- I love it. Your new fabric will make a beautiful quilt I'm sure x x Jo 🌈
Happy Birthday again, and should like you had fun. That Rudolph is adorable. I think you could alter the bottom and make him into a choc orange cosy with ease :) Happy (cancelled knitting day) WOYWW!

I’m glad you enjoyed your birthday! Lots of lovely stuff on your blog today, especially the sewing machine brooch from Rhys, the cards from Eva and others and your sweet Rudolph! His antlers are amazing - how did you make them? Your new fabric stash looks very harmonious, great for a quilt. I’d love to see you make something for yourself from your birthday stash, as well.
Happy WOYWW

Dear Jan!
Glad to read that you had a lovely Birthday last Friday. And I'm glad too that my card made the way in time!
It's honour to me, to see it on your blog. No doubt.
The little emamel and crystal brooch is so amazing!
The fabric from G's sister is really welcome and in same tone!
I felt in love with the Reindeer.
I wish you a sunny end of the week.
Stay well!
Eva from Austria
Glad you had a Happy Birthday Jan what an absolutely adorable broach and super free stitching flowers too. But I have to say O have fallen in love with your reindeer - sigh - could I have a pattern perchance? Although not sure my hands could take knitting but it is small, so maybe. What chocolate size are they? I did ask hubby to get some Begonias but doubted there would be any left this last in the season, I was jolly lucky and I think they were reduced too. Hugs BJ#2
Happy belated birthday, great cards and love the little sewing machine brooch it's so sweet. Happy woyww. Hugs Angela x9x
Love the reindeer, it's very tidy and the antlers are just fine..I wonder if you're going to attempt anything in pink???!!!! Lovely collection of cheerful cards, it makes me happy to see and it helps to prove that you are loved. I just knew you'd have spent the fabric vouchers by now, you are so good at making the most of such things, I end up dithering as you know!
The bottom half of the reindeer could morph into a striped potato. Details later.
Love that brooch from Rhys, what a fabulous find. Perfect for you. Lovely hand made cards. I missed your birthday but have something here to send but have had a reaction to the antibiotics which sent my head elsewhere and am seeing my UNfavourite nurse this afternoon. You can tell I am desperate.
Don't apologise for C stuff being on the table, it's a lovely reminder for me to get cracking on my cards.
Nice to read you are outsourcing hands to help you with makes.
Sending lots of love

I love the fabric piece made by Eva! I also love the reindeer. I notice you put a link for the pattern which I will now have to get!!
Happy WOYWW! Susan #5
Hi Jan, thanks for your earlier visit. Oh I do like Rudolph and his antlers are just fine! I need to start on my Christmas stuff, I am very behind but I only have 1 fair this year so mustn't go mad. Those fabrics really will go together nicely. The ATC (?) from Eva is gorgeous. I keep thinking about getting a sewing m/c for crafts but then talk myself out of it as I wouldn't use it much.
Lionel is having a little nap right now and having a sleepover. We are talking to each other - but we haven't been out!! Have a great week, love n hugs Cindy #11
Belated Birthday Blessings, Jan. I didn't know but it's on my calendar for next year. ;-)
those animals are adorable. I think a Penguin would be adorable.
As to the 'C' word... you just keep playing. If it makes you smile, that's the only season to care about.
