GOT A GOOD THING GOING ON...
Hi there lovely Deskers and welcome to another week of crafty shenanigans! Today is my 700th post, how did that happen then? It only seems like yesterday that I was 'encouraged' to have a go and here we are, all these years later...I still can't believe that people read my witterings about what I get up to but I do really appreciate every comment and view xxxx
I have to apologise for not getting back to you last week, I didn't have a great few days but am feeling a bit better now. A little bit of crafting has been done so there is something to share for this special post!
View from the machine - I got one bag and 2 x cases and purses out of the free remnant from Pili Pala Fabrics and just had enough of that purple spot for the lining.
I also finished off the new waterlily and dragonfly, it's made for a gorgeous set, I'm sorely tempted to keep one for myself.
I was getting very low on a few colourways of the spot so:
What a pleasing parcel!
My mate Kim came over yesterday afternoon and we made a few more string blocks, she chose fabric and pinned, I sewed, great combo. I didn't take a pic though...doh... so here's the aftermath:
We must have made a dozen, it really speeded up the process having Kim do the choosing.
A couple of days ago this was the sight that greeted me on opening the curtains first thing:
Now that's not something you see everyday!! It was attracting quite a bit of interest from the locals:
There was no note or anything and I couldn't bear the thought of it getting 'christened' by a dog so I put it on our front wall where it reclined in sunny splendour for a while!
I found out that a neighbour had put it there for someone to help themselves - I put the word out to some friends with grandkids and it was snapped up for an 9 year old girl who adores it, yay!
I guess this blog has been an example of my usual style, a bit of crafting and then some random nonsense! Thank you for the friendship and caring community, I couldn't imagine my week without it. Hugs to you all!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Congrats on your 700th blog post. I like the mix of craftiness and random nonsense - suits me perfectly.𤣠Your strip colour combos are gorgeous. What a lovely thing for you and Kim to do together. Hope you stay well x x Jo š
Love the random nonsense the tiger really sparked my curiosity too so glad you saved it from the dogs! Loving the rich purple spot lining and then a huge bag of new spots too, glad you are feeling a well enough to sew again and what fun making the blocks with a friend, you have a right production line going on there I can see. PS you don't need any more samples LOL. Hugs Bj#6
Congratulations, on an amazing and inspiring 700 posts! Iām so glad you got me into itš„°. Gorgeous colours and you should definitely keep a water lily and dragonfly set for yourself. I didnāt quite see the toy tiger properly and thought another ginger cat had adopted you, though I know no one could replace Ron. Iām glad you stopped him being peed on and then found him a new home! That girl must think itās Xmas! It sounds fun to be string quilting with Kim.
Happy WOYWW

What a lovely tiger! I'll bet he was snapped up. And your little sets do look stunning. I am a sucker for anything dotty so that fabric bundle made me smile from ear to ear. I think you hit of a real treasure with Kim! Imagine the quilts you will crank out with her helping. I can see SHE has a real eye for colour too. Fab squares. I do like the straight vertical lines for a change to diagonals. Trying to imagine the final quilt...I'm sure I won't have long to wait...
Dashing around pre-knitting but Happy WOYWW!

Happy 700th blog post Jan. Glad the tiger found a good home and that the weather held while he was outside. Hope you are fully recovered soon. Those quilt strip squares are looking great. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah
Hi Jan, hope you're feeling better. What I've noticed with this cold is feeling a bit extra tired but the sneezing has stopped. I did go out with some friends yeasterday but just to sit in a cafe drinking coffee and eating scones which was nice so having a rest today. Your tiger friend made me smile, what a thing to see first thing in the morning and pleased he/she has found a new home. Loving your new spotty fabrics but then I love spotty papers too so not surprised. Sending woyww hugs Angela x10x
Well done on your 700 th post. I donāt know how many I have posted or how to count them.. Glad to hear you are feeling better. Everything seems to go better with a friend! Happy WOYWW. Angela #11
For got to say that I loved the sudden appear the tiger š
Congrats on your no 700.
At first glance I thought it was real then I realised it was a toy - what a generous thing to do but maybe it should have had a sign around it's neck to begin with.
Love the sewing on the machine but the waterlily fabric has come up trumps - what a beautiful set it has made.
Hugs, Neet 3 xx

Love the tiger story, well done for saving him, bet he enjoyed basking in the sun on your wall, lovely happy ending.
oh bother! I just typed out loads and now its all disappeared! Anyway!! Happy 700th post, I haven't a clue how many I have done as I haven't looked for ages/ I have loads of things to 'get rid' of, but not as nice as that tiger! Since my new kitchen is almost finnished I have loads of kitchen stuff that won't fit anywhere, so So, if I put it out the front with FREE on it, it will soon go! ....last time I put stuff in a nice box....yep, someone took that too! Have a great week! Happy late WOYWW!? ((Lyn)) #13
