IF A PICTURE PAINTS A THOUSAND WORDS...
Hi everyone, hope you've had a good week! Mine has been busy and sociable with lots of time in the JanCave as well...perfect combo really.
On my desk a couple of days ago was a fellow Desker!
Lynnecrafts!! We had a good catch up whilst doing some crafting, Lynne was knitting, I was cutting strips from scrap fabric.
In the LH box are the cut strips. in the RH are the piles of fabric that just get thrown in after a project. I may be some time.... why do I never learn to do this straight away before I carry on to something else...sigh...
I've already used up some of the fabric that arrived last week, my new machine has speeded up the process incredibly!
And I'm halfway through the sunflowers! I tend to have a mammoth sewing couple of months when the weather's not so great and then I've got a good stock in for any craft fairs or the tearoom shelves.
The crochet squares are multiplying as well!
This is my section of the bookcase downstairs, honestly my stuff gets everywhere *grin* The file and books underneath the squares are all knitting and crochet patterns and other art books and supplies - if I carried on to the right my recipe books would come into view. This lot is usually behind a door so my mess isn't too obvious!
I'm coming into the purple and blues section now, woohoo! Using these bright colours has been ever so pleasing, I've really enjoyed making them.
That's it for this week, short and sweet - may your crafting be going smoothly! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

good use of your time chatting with Lynne to cut strips.. what will you use them for? Love the pile of squares, so colourful! Happy WOYWW Helen '#1
Those crochet squares will make gorgeous blankets Jan. It must have been nice to have Lynne's company while you were doing mundane jobs. Love the sunflower fabric. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah
I can just imagine you beetling away on the new machine. Simple pleasures! I'm sure it's the best way to spend happy hours while the weather is cold and miserable. And the blanket squares are pure joy - juicy, gorgeous colours. x x Jo 🌈.
It was good to ‘see’ you this week. It was crochet not knitting but I won’t do a Batman on you (see my cartoons🤣). Beautiful bright fabrics and squares.
Happy WOYWW, hugs Lynnecrafts 8 xx
That I pad stand is really good isn't it! Great to see your trail around the house....still a very neat trail isn't it! Still smiling at those fab colours. Happy to read that it's been a good and sociable week, hope all those that follow are the same!
I always love seeing what you have been doing. Lovely splashes of colour from the crochet squares and fabrics!
Happy WOYWW! Susan #9
Fabulous colours in your knitted squares. I do like your IPad/Phone support, such a great idea. Happy WOYWW. Angela #13
Hi Jan, thanks we had a great time away plenty of snow and very little ice which is not good for skiing. However I now have a stinking cold but it was worth it. I smiled when I saw you cutting up those pieces of fabric. I have found myself with plastic folders full with pieces of left-over card and fancy paper, it's crazy what we do. I must get this lot sorted and used! Loving the crochet squares, gorgeous. You mentioned an interest in Catherine Rains and I know her free Collage Kickstart has just finished but she is on Facebook and Youtube too. Her style is abstract which is a good way to get started. Happy woyww, hugs Angela x10x
I've had another busy day bear making today so am late in commenting sorry.
So lovely to have had time with Lynne...I can just imagine you having a fun time together.

I love that iPad stand! Great for chats, isn't it? You make me laugh - I must find the Yarn Harlot essay about her stashing yarn everywhere in her tiny house. She pulls the books to the front edge and stashes stuff behind. Pretty sure her piano is unplayable cause IT is stuffed with yarn too. You should read her - she will make you laugh for sure. Oh and I love Bill Bryson too :D. Your crochet square look stunning. SO bright.
Happy WOYWW!

Is that an iPad stand? It looks perfect for having in a craft room (or cave). Great colours of squares you have now and what a lovely way to store them, in front of the books. I note you left the cook ones free though,
Great duck fabric!
Hugs, & have a good week

You have the most amazing fabrics and your projects are all so pretty! I envy your organization. Everything is so neat. I can only wish! Nice iPad stand. Have a wonderful week!

Oh my life!!! One look at your page and realised I had one of those rulers for Christmas and couldn't remember where I'd put it! Had to empty a lot of my craft corner shelves before Christmas due to condensation running down my walls - it's still not sorted. Anyway a frantic search through what's left of my shelves and finally found it - PHEW.
I see you've done lots of sewing and crochet there, how exactly does your new machine speed up the process I wonder? I certainly couldn't do as much crochet with my carpal tunnel but I have my nerve conduction study on 21st Jan and fortunately got a cancellation for my next steroid injection for 6th Feb - although I know it is only a matter of time before I'll need the operation on my left wrist/hand too. Dear Jan!
It makes me happy to visite your new blog post. You are so busy every time. Shame on me, I take a break from my sewing machine.
Maybe it's time to bring it to the service?
I love the colors of your squares.
Best wishes from grey and wet Austria.

You have been busy! I'm glad your new machine is making things faster and easier for you! I love the sunflower fabric, makes me think of summer! Have a great week, Lindart #14
Sorry I'm so late! or I could be early for this coming Wednesday! I had just too much going on! Boiler leaking, drive needed clearing and cleaning ready for a meter being moved, garage needed clearing too, as I need somewhere to put all the kitchen things, ready for my new kitchen!! Then there's the other jobs! shopping, gardening, hedge cutting and a couple of birthday cards to make, anyway, Geri the Crafter is starting his month long painty gel printing 'thing' in March this year and I really want to do that after doing it for the whole of July last year! I love all your scraps! I could dive into that box and be as happy as two cherries on a cream bun!! if I had time I would have ago...but where to put all that fabric??? And would I want to cut it up!? Wish the crop was nearer..I would never find my way there and get lost ! Have a great week! Happy very late WOYWW!?((Lyn))#16
