WOYWW 797

 HERE COMES THE BRIDE!

It's a red letter day! A satisfying palindrome WOYWW number of 797 and it's also our 42nd Wedding Anniversary! Yep, this time time all those years ago G and I were getting hitched - he deserves a medal (mind you, so do I *grin*)

We're still bonkers after all these years!

And I hope that never changes. This is our nearly new electric car that we picked up last Friday, it's been a learning curve as this is the first EV we've owned but I have to say it's marvellous. We can charge it using the energy generated from our solar panels so it's a win win!

Our great friends Helen and Paul celebrated their Ruby anniversary on Sunday - I made them a very non traditional card:

They really loved it and I enjoyed knitting the teensy sheepy fleeces. AND I remembered to take a pic before I gave it to them...woohoo!

There have been more sheep on the desk:

I'm doing a Christmas fair in November in the deepest farming country near Carmarthen - nothing like playing to your audience eh? I'll be featuring sheep, dogs, chickens, ducks and bees - I still love that lime green that's paired with the bee fabric in the background.

Some of my friends in the RNLI shop volunteers have decided to knit baby blankets for the Special Care Baby Unit in Carmarthen hospital - very specific instructions were given: 70cms square, acrylic non fluffy yarn and no holes for little fingers to get stuck. Knitting a blanket seems to take ages so I've settled on this double crochet version instead:

It's quite a dense stitch but works well and it's a whole lot quicker!

Hope you have a wonderful week, nearly at the big 800!!

Congrats first and foremost. Well done to BOTH of you LOL! The card is adorable and the blanket looks gorgeous. The way it's folded I thought it might be a ripple, but now I think not. Love it either way.
Quick scoot round before knitting WOYWW!

Wowser, what a way to celebrate your anniversary - getting an electric car. Lucky you I am envious. But I wish you many many happy hours of motoring. Congratulations too on the anniversary, 42 years is a big number and it's lovely to see you two so happy with one another.
That card for your friends - it is absolutely fantastic! What a brilliant idea.
Glad you two are feeling much better from the last few weeks of Covid.
Hugs, Neet 1 xx.

Well that is a big anniversary and you both look well on it so you are obviously perfect together. Congratulations and look forward to many more. Not sure we'll make the move onto EV - think I'll be too daft to drive before it becomes compulsory, and hubby doesn't. Great looking blanket, well done you. Yeah Lionel was a little star and made friends everywhere we went. Definitely living his best life with 10 adoring adults all day every day. This week is probably a bit of a come down!! Love the sheep fabric!! Have a great week, love n hugs Cindy xx #7

Congratulations on your anniversary! Very impressive and equally impressive that you are still clearly having such fun together. I also love that lime green both as the contrast for the bees and the background for the sheep. That card though... too funny!! Best wishes, Lisa-Jane #13

Happy Anniversary to you both Jan! Your car looks fabulous too! I do love your card with their little knitted coats, it's just perfect and it looks like you've been very busy been prepping for the Christmas fair. I love the lime green fabric too. Are they little wallets that you've made at the back? That's a beautiful blanket too. I did attempt to knit a jumper for my daughter after she was born but I'm very cack handed lefty and looked like an american footballer in it, bless her ha ha. Have a great rest of your week and I'm so glad you liked Des's quirky abode Michelle xx #18

Oh what a super photo of the two of you, Happy Anniversary! Loving the blanket and yes the lime green is still a fav for me too. You might get bag bound if you keep it, maybe if you have a scrap left you could machine embroider a flower shape to cut out and pop on your notice board perhaps. Hugs BJ#6

Hello, congratulations on your anniversary and on the new car too! That photo is brilliant. You both look so happy. I just love that card . . . the knitted sheepskin is brilliant. Crocheting is definitely faster than knitting. You've reminded me to get back to my much neglected crochet project. I might just finish it this winter. Have a wonderful week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #9
