THERE'S A WHOLE HEAP OF THINGS GOING ON.....

Hello fellow Desk Snoopers, time has whizzed and here we are again, linking up with friends all around the world via Stamping Ground. Sending healing hugs to Lynne (LynneCrafts) who is in hospital, she has blogged today but isn’t feeling great.

It's been a busy week sewing-wise, after restocking the RNLI box at the cafe last week there were some gaps.

The tote bags were nearly all gone so the 2m of this gifted fabric came in handy. I managed to get six bags and five pairs of handles out of it, the sixth pair of handles came from the stash!

It's impossible to display them nicely in the cafe, there's not enough room, so one is hung up as an example, the rest are rolled up in a box below.

I rummaged through the fabrics I have (which are getting surprisingly low...oh dear, I may have to buy some more....lol) and found this floral that Sarah Brennan had given me, there was just enough for two more bags if I cut carefully:

They're so bright and cheerful!

I did a lot of finishing off of certain fabrics here, not even a teensy scrap remains, so satisfying!  I found some remnants of the motorbike fabric too and have now used all that up as well:

Doing some topstitching along a zip, the first I've done for ages - the pencil cases are selling quite well so I'd thought another couple would do.

A heap that requires a good ironing and some poppers attaching then they can go in my storage box until needed.

Apologies for misleading some of you last week, my big birthday (a decade is changing, oo-er) isn't until August, it's just that my combined prezzy arrived early! Another part came this week, a solar powered fountain. It was like the one at Lake Geneva when first switched on but was soon wrangled into a more manageable height:

It really is lovely to see and hear, we're enjoying it very much.

Hope you have a wonderful week, enjoy your crafting!

Hi Jan, You have been busy. I'm sure everything will sell quickly.

I like to have a little bag clipped to my handbag, so I know I always have one.

Your pond is lovely. I like the fossils.

Happy WOYWW

Thanks for linking me Jan, and for all your good wishes and support. The free hospital WiFi is a blessing but a creaky one and I hate it whenever I mess up Julia’s list.
Ooh, I’d have loved to see your fountain like the Geneva one! Wasn’t that in that ‘60s tv series, the Champions, where they come back from Tibet with special powers? I must try to find that one day.
Your sewing is as wonderful as ever. You make such good bags etc.
Love

I just love, love your fountain, the whole area looks wonderful.
I would be lost without my little tote bags, I love all your colours when they are laid out together.
Have a good week

Happy WOYWW. Very satisfying to use up fabric. Making bags is one of the few things I actually did when I had a sewing machine. Still use one of them. Most of my sewing and yarn crafts are some of the stash that has been removed from my craft room. Realistically I was not making time to use any of it, so it was donated to a local craft group. I have kept my needle felting supplies, a weaving kit that I keep meaning to start and a few small cross stitch kits. I must go and look at your pond/fountain online. Definitely something I would like in our garden. Ali x #14 ps Still got it in my mind to come and visit you. Perhaps in August!

You have been a busy bag maker! They are fab and I love that even the small left overs get put to such good use too. Your water feature is fab - I chuckled because we drove to Geneva -a detour especially to see the fountain - it was switched off!!! So I will enjoy your mini version which, I am sure, will give you just as much pleasure. The sound of water is so relaxing. xx Jo

OOh err another busy week in the cave and the garden. Am still laughing at the thought of you having a water spout to amuse the whole street and needing an I’m fella to get into our own garden. The water wrangler, so intrepid! Well done with the fabrics, even I’m satisfied by the way you’ve used them up, it’s one of the best feelings. Wall to wall sunshine today, so it must be time to stay in my workroom and catch up if you’re about…will message you as soon as my phone has charged!xxx

You're a sewing machine. Oops that didn't sound right. You sew like a machine. I don't think that's what I meant, either. I hope you know I am so impressed with your sewing prowess.

Beautiful fountain around a fabulous pond. Happy WOYWW from # 6.

You are such a generous soul. You give so much of your time to helping the RNLI in your own way (as opposed to manning the boat ~I mean) plus you buy fabric. I am so proud to know you.
Those totes are beautiful, lovely fabric, especially for the seaside shop and even the others that are not of a seaside theme are beautiful.
Bet they all sell like hot cakes before you know it.
How lovely to have your own fountain - so nice to hear the trickle of water when you are sitting int he sunshine.
I am glad you're staying safe and sensible in Wales - might just have to move down there.

Your tote bags are fabulous - I love the fabric one on the far right - looks rather Japanese in style - I often ooh and aah over your fabrics!
Love the thought of the Lake Geneva fountain - it must have been a bit of a shock when you first switched it on!
Hope you have a great week,

Love your tote bags, especially the beach houses one. I have wanted a little fountain for ages. The water lily has started to take over my pond and I was going to move it , but husband said no! I wonder if you can split water lilies? I digress. Your pond area looks lovely. Happy WOYWW Angela #7

Fantastic makes - I like the bags all rolled up - that's a good way of displaying them, otherwise people would be touching them all over like in a jumble sale and they would end up messy. Lovely little water feature - we've got a fountain as well, but we'll have to build a decking to set it up for the electricity. Clever that yours is solar powered! Happy WOYWW! xx zsuzsa #24

After seeing your photos, I really think I need to visit a fabric shop, it's been ages and we have very few left. Your fabric is all so bright and cheery, beautiful designs also. We are in darkness at 9 a.m. heavy much needed rain and thankful for no winds. Good day for soup and deserts !!! Have a great week. Your outside area is beautiful.

To answer your question, that is not a table tennis table. It's designed to cut quilt blocks and such. A friend who wanted to make a quilt bought it, all the wonderful equipment, including that HUGE cutting mat, and lots of fabric. She made about six blocks and gave up. She asked if I wanted the table and jumped at the chance to get it. She also included the mat, which takes up nearly one side of the table. Only one side is up at the moment, because the table is so large otherwise, I'd never get around it. I only opened it once when I worked on the gelli plate. Thanks for asking. BTW, I'm not going anywhere, I just need to assume my duties at Art Journal Journey, which I seem to have nearly abandoned.

I gulped at the number of tote bags you’ve made as it took me forever and the teacher mainly did my measly one bag
But then I cheered at your solar fountain as we love ours.
Enjoy the garden Jan

Dear Jan!
I would buy everything of your sewing products!! They are so beautiful!!
Sorry for not comment last week.
Too much work, no internet, no TV. Problems everywhere with the electric.
But now: I'm here again.
Snail Mail is on the way to you!

Hi there Jan, thanks for the visit glad you liked the photo - yes certainly me in my favourite place (after the garden!). Speaking of gardens I'm loving that fountain, very smart. You have done well to get all those goodies made this week but don't feel a little bit sad when the last piece of fabric is used up? I know I get a bit precious about bits of paper some times!! Happy WOYWW, stay well, stay safe, love n hugs Cindy xx #8

What a productive week you've had, Jan, and you certainly do find some unusual fabrics. The fountain in the garden is lovely. We've got a waterfall in the rockery (that was here when we moved) and my hubby made a water feature for the middle of the law, so we can hear the tinkling of water when we sit outside! It is lovely.

Happy belated WOYWW,
