HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS.....

The last Wednesday before the main event! Thanks for all the wonderful support, comments and feedback this past twelve months - I can't believe how quickly it's gone and how much has been packed in :-D  Let's hope 2019 is a kinder, happier and healthy time for us all.

The desk hasn't seen much crafting:
but has been the wrapping station.

I bought some teeny prezzies for my WI mates, can't tell you what they are as I know some of the girls read this blog!  I enjoyed myself a lot playing with pretty tissue paper, twine and buttons.

One crafting achievement to show you though is:
I came second in all the points total for competitions in the group last year! It's a nice thing to have especially with the banner roundel at the top, which I was part of creating.

I shall leave you with a bit of retail therapy that I indulged in last week:

Isn't it gorgeous? I love Whitby and 50's style posters and the work of this artist, Georgina Westley, really floats my boat. Brilliant designs for a very reasonable cost. Check out her work. I'm pretty sure I shall have to get a couple more!!

Only four more playing events with my bands and then I shall be putting my feet up and indulging in a gin or two. Merry Christmas you lovely lot, hope you have a wonderful time xx

What a very neat and tidy desk, Jan, and what simply beautifully wrapped little presents! All so methodical and neat, in your usual fashion! Many congratulations on coming second in the competitions, and I remember you posting about your design for the roundel. You should frame and hang the certificate! The Whitby picture is just gorgeous. I love Whitby too. My school friend took us there once and I remember going down all those steps! For me it’s the archetypical English seaside town and I absolutely loved it. The inside of the church was fascinating too. I have a photo of Mum as a child with my grandmother on holiday in Whitby in the 1930s.

Happy WOYWW,

Hi Jan, The little pressies are lovely. I only have plain tissue paper, but then the light bulb came on and I thought why not stamp onto the tissue paper. I was so chuffed I'd thought of it, but I then forgot all about it and none got stamped.

Well done on your Achievement Award.

Love the picture. Off to check out the artists site.

Happy WOYWW

Thank you for your visit, Jan, and I'm so glad you like my little hearts and the card. As for "gloves" I think we all need lots of them in this cold weather lol!!

Congratulations on your award you clever gal! I love the little pressies you made, the buttons are so cute on top too - I can't help 'collecting' patterned tissue paper, there are such lovely patterns about. The Whitby print is gorgeous, I love snowy pics - I've never been there but I've heard from so many people what a lovely place it is. I'm just off to follow your link to the artist's site now.
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas (and thank you for the lovely card too),
Hugs, Diana xx

Hi Jan, first of all, apologies for not commenting last week - life happened, as it does, and all plans and intentions went out the window. The tissue paper you've chosen to wrap the gifts is really pretty - too good to tear! Congratulations on your award - I don't know much about the WI but it seems they are a lovely bunch. The poster of Whitby is gorgeous - one of our favourite holidays was spent near there but, oh, I so remember climbing those stairs, they seemed to go on forever!!! Have a wonderful week and a very Merry Christmas. Hugs, Elizabeth x #30

Your desk looks just like the one Julia was aspiring to - nice and tidy with lots of room to wrap presents. Those small little parcels look lovely! Well done on the second place - I would always put you first, but I'm a bit partial :) Love the simplicity of that print and the white frame is perfect for it! Thanks for your visit, Jan, and all the visits throughout the year! Wishing you a very happy Christmas! zsuzsa #20 xx

Lovely poster - love the use of colour to create perspective, how very clever. The WI ladies’ pressies look gorgeous, love the buttons as a finish. Am totally jealous of the calm on the desk, but I’m getting there! We’ll talk. Xxxxxx

Thanks for stopping by. I went back many posts and how fun to see all the lovely photos. Love the Julia and You time. Congrats on your award. Music is such a great way to be entertained. My dad was a musician and lead singer for 40 some years. Somewhere, someone has a record his band created and I've not given up the search. He was a polka and waltz guy ! Wrapping is NOT on of my favorite things any time of the year. But I love the papers. Wishing you and yours a most wonderful time of the year. Enjoy all the holiday season brings your way. Thanks for all the wonderful inspiration Merry Christmas
