WE BEEN A BUSY MAKIN' MERRIES
AND PICKIN' WILD MOUNTAIN BERRIES....

It's a case of same old-same old this week!  The desk looks identical though I have done a couple more rows of the patchwork:

I could have used a similar photo from two weeks ago, but I haven't...honest!!

Not much sewing got done last week because I was caught up in a hectic social whirl :-)  Catching up with old friends, family and deskers took up pretty much the whole week - it was lovely to have lunch with Diana (VelvetMothStudios) last Thursday. Lots of fun and laughter- I'll leave it to you to guess who was the naughtiest πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‹

Also both my boys came home for the weekend and Mothers Day. They helped out in the garden too:
Bright and cold. just the way I like it!  My greenhouse is full of logs because we had to move the wood stores to put paving slabs underneath. My job this week is to put them all back! Plus I'll need the space to start sowing seeds soon.

But I have been doing loads of crochet in the evenings. I couldn't resist any longer, those berry colours of yarn were just calling to me!
Yummy, yummy, yummy.......

The chunky yarn crochets up really quickly. I don't think I can give this one away, I love it too much. I went on a colour therapy course once, which was so interesting - working with these colours has been a real tonic and cheered me up a lot. I'm in lurve with the berry, purple and pink rows at the bottom. Happy Crochet Dance coming up...oh yeah, shake that booty.....

I do have some lovely friends you know...Helen from band had been to the Knitting and Stitching show at Olympia last Friday and presented me with this at Training band the next day...
Isn't it fab?!  I love it and am going to have a good think as to what it'll be used for. Thank you so much Helen, it was really kind of you to think of me :-)  Helen is an amazing crafter herself..I'll have to see whether she'll share some of her stuff one day.
I think I have some green fabric in one of my boxes to tone with this, I'm off for a rootle...see you later!

Looks as if you had a lovely sunny day on Sunday. When I came home we still had just one little drift of snow on the lawn at the front of the house,
Can understand how you loved working with those berry colours, and also why you don't think you will part with it - so rich and warm looking and so uplifting! As for the rabbits, well, that is lovely and I await your pst when you have used it with that green fabric you have in mind.
Hugs, Neet 2 xx

Wow, Jan - you have managed to get out into the garden???! Ours is so wet at the moment I wouldn't dare try it - plus the fact that the rain has hardly stopped long enough yet this year to say "lawnmower"!
What a fabulous blanket you are crocheting - wonderful colours - just love it. Give me bright and regal colours any day!
The hare fabric is lovely - what a great friend you have there.
Take care. God bless.

Ooh Jan - naughtiest?? I can't decide who talks the most - it's a close run contest, and didn't we cover some subjects!! I had a great time - thank you so much.
I would definitely keep that blanket if it was me, those colours are soooooo gorgeous. I haven't ventured into the garden yet, it's been too cold, but we have an entire tree down so there's a lot of work waiting to be done.
Have a great week,
Hugs, Diana xx

How absolutely PERFICK is that hare fabric then!?!?!?!? Someone knows you very well and what a lovely, lovely gift! A Crochet Happy Dance, huh? So what am I missing out on then? Can one do it mid-project to celebrate the joining on of yet another ball of wool or do I have to wait until the end and then just let rip? Maybe a mid-blanket mini-jiggle would be acceptable? Love to you, as always. Debbie (may not WOYWW this week as my desk is empty ... will 'ave a fink!) xXx

Oooh, I envy you for having a garden (I miss my old house & garden...) all ready for Spring! THe blanket is really marvelous, it makes you smile just looking at it, it will be a joy to wrap yourself in it and curl up in a garden-seat when evenings get chilly... I love the colours on your crocheting - so vibrant! Your garden looks all ready for Spring and ready for planting! I actually planted my first vegetable garden last year. It turned out quite well considering I was gone for seven weeks visiting mum. I'm looking forward to working on it again this year. I can actually see it now as the snow melted.

Hiya Jan, that hare fabric is so you, it's perfect. And that crochet- no wonder you feel so good, it's amazing how colours can make us feel isn't it? The thought of moving all those logs gives me the creeps- all those spiders!I am sure there will be many wedding pictures shared on FB- not being rude but she is an Essex Girl- so up close and in yer face is her way, lol. Love and huge hugs to you all, xxxxx

I don't blame you for not wanting to part with that lovely throw (scarf?) - it's gorgeous! It makes me happy too looking at it! Have a lovely week! zsuzsa #47

Another lovely blanket - great colour scheme. The garden is looking good too - I haven't been near our greenhouse in ages - it probably has a lot worse than logs in it!!

Loving the crochet colours! And the bunnies are adorable! You asked last week what my pet hate was on the washing and embarrassingly enough it is that I can't bear to peg anything out if the pegs don't match! Take care Ali xx #68

Hi Jan! Goodness... so many good things to comment on. Let's see... Love the gifted fabric. Can't wait to see what you do with it. I think I'd add it to my garden fabric collection. What size are your pieces for the patchwork? I like the look of that size. I am also anxious to start sowing seeds and getting the garden going. I've bought seeds, sketched the layout. Just need to find a good price on strawbales. Our ground is so rocky here that I am a 'strawbale gardener'. Curious? drop me a note on my blog and I"ll link you to pics from last year. Glad the boys got to come home for Mother's Day. A week of family and friends is the perfect distraction. ;-) And those berry colors of the afghan are so very pretty and warm looking. Creative Blessings! Kelly #61
