WOYWW 161

I BEG YOUR PARDON,
I NEVER PROMISED YOU A ROSE GARDEN...
Except that's what I'm showing you first today! Trust me to be awkward *grin*

I bought this fabric while on holiday last year from The Cotton Angel in Monmouth (as recommended by Sam of Hettiecraft fame.)  It was in the sale section so I bought a couple of metres and then promptly forgot about it when we returned home. I 'discovered' it again last week while searching for something else to make for the craft fair on Saturday.  I thought it would make a great peg bag, trimmed with some red gingham ribbon and daisy braid...
Before and after shots! The ribbon looks a bit wonky on the finished article but it's just the way the bag was hanging..honest!!

I also made an apron as I was enjoying the bright and breezy colours so much....and let me tell you, it takes a REAL man to model this :) Well done G3, the things you do to keep your old Ma happy... you're a star!
And, don't faint, I finished the stamp fabric tote after it's been cut out for bloomin' ages!! I'll be frank, I got a bit ticked off with making this, was hoping it was going to be first class but the delivery was late..that's it, I'll stop with the Mail puns now...or this post will never end!

Some more gorgeous ATCs arrived - wahoo!!  From L-R, Lisa M., Morti and Cardarian - THANK YOU ladies, they're beautiful! But I have to know - did you three get together beforehand and agree to co-ordinate your colour theme??

Okey dokey, the results of my bloggaversary giveaway...
My longstanding friend Kate was visiting LLJ Towers this weekend. She lives in New Zealand now but we've known each other for ever, since our days in Newcastle - 29 years in fact. Anyhoo, I asked Kate to do the drawing of the winning name and she picked.......
Drum Roll please..........

CRAFTY GASHEAD ZO!!!

Woop woop, wild applause, cheers and a fanfare!

Well done, Zoe -  this spotty/daisy/gingham bin with pink bling will be
winging its way to you shortly! Please can you email me your postal address...

Thanks to everyone for entering - it was fun reading everyone's different colour preferences!!

Thank you all for the lovely comments and support for my first year's blogging - I suppose I'll have to carry on now.... :D

Such a fab post today Jan. Love all the bright cheery colours. Getting G3 to model your apron was one thing but you could have allowed him to wear some trousers :-)

You better carry on, Jan. I look forward so much to our Wednesday chats. You always bring a smile to my face!! Well done to Zoe. No, I'm not green with envy honest, lots of gnashing of teeth and banging of head on desk, lol!!
What gorgeous fabric. I think every man should have an apron in it, at least you'd know he was in the kitchen creating something delicious. .
How lovely to have your friend visiting from so many miles away. I hope you've had a lovely time despite this bloomin weather. Still I suppose it's winter in New Zealand so it won't be much different from what she's left at home.
Have a great week and Happy WOYWW.

Me back again, Jan. See I didn't write enough first time, lol. Just forget to say, glad you liked the ATC. The colours just show good taste that's all!!!!!!

Yes indeed. YOU CAN CHECK OUT ANY TIME YOU LIKE, BUT YOU CAN NEVER LEEEEEEEAVE'
OIf course I love the daisies, brillo with the spot...but the stamp fabric is ace for that bag..perhaps you were just in the mood for brighter colours. I'm going to assume that the gorgeous and really quite modest G3 is wearing shorts under the apron...in which he looks fab. And patient!

I truly think you could sew anything and it would all look fab. Your colour selections are beautiful and that is probably why you were sent co-ordinating ATC's.

Loving that flowery fabric and glad I can be of some use to someone! I was at that shop only Saturday and did you feel the earth tremmor? I did NOT buy a thing! What? No!! Even Stumpy (new name for Hubby - not my doing) could not believe it! Almost as shocking is that the National Trust shop opposite has gone!
Ho Hum! Another victim of the recession no doubt!

Morti said...

Woo! Fabulous sewing on your "desk" this wseek. Glad to see my colour choices made such a good combo - well done to Zoe for winning it! Also good to see that the ATC made it in one piece.

Oooh - guess what?! Lil Miss B won three of the school tickets to an Olympic footie match at the Millennium Stadium... how cool is that? We get to go and see....wait for it....Japan v South Africa - Women's. LOL Still, it'll be a worthwhile experience!

Thanks for stopping by...

Thanks for your lovely comment, Jan, and so glad you like my work! Even if you don't do ATCs, I'd still like to send you one because it was you who got me started on Zentangle in the first place, with your tree drawing! Bet you didn't know what you were starting... Anyway, email me (address on my blog) with your address and it will be on its way to you!

I love all your sewing - lovely bright summery colours (to compensate for our non-summer lol!!) and the postage stamp tote bag looks brilliant.

I'm definitely feeling better, but it's up and down. At least it's not all down now, which is an improvement! My own fault entirely for overdoing things, but it was worth it.

Happy WOYWW,

Oh, what a fabulous stash bag, Zoe won. She picked a great color/bead combo. Love the flower fabric and what you've done with it. The apron is fab! And what a manly man to model it. The stamp tote bag came out excellent. Sorry it caused grief, heartburn, anxiety and ingrown toenails. Some projects are just like that. Hubby wants to lay claim to "Good Day, Sir!" said in a stern voice and isn't giving up "Bugger off" without a fight.
