I NEVER PROMISED YOU A ROSE GARDEN...
Except that's what I'm showing you first today! Trust me to be awkward *grin*
I bought this fabric while on holiday last year from The Cotton Angel in Monmouth (as recommended by Sam of Hettiecraft fame.) It was in the sale section so I bought a couple of metres and then promptly forgot about it when we returned home. I 'discovered' it again last week while searching for something else to make for the craft fair on Saturday. I thought it would make a great peg bag, trimmed with some red gingham ribbon and daisy braid...
Before and after shots! The ribbon looks a bit wonky on the finished article but it's just the way the bag was hanging..honest!!
I also made an apron as I was enjoying the bright and breezy colours so much....and let me tell you, it takes a REAL man to model this :) Well done G3, the things you do to keep your old Ma happy... you're a star!
And, don't faint, I finished the stamp fabric tote after it's been cut out for bloomin' ages!! I'll be frank, I got a bit ticked off with making this, was hoping it was going to be first class but the delivery was late..that's it, I'll stop with the Mail puns now...or this post will never end!
Some more gorgeous ATCs arrived - wahoo!! From L-R, Lisa M., Morti and Cardarian - THANK YOU ladies, they're beautiful! But I have to know - did you three get together beforehand and agree to co-ordinate your colour theme??
Okey dokey, the results of my bloggaversary giveaway...
My longstanding friend Kate was visiting LLJ Towers this weekend. She lives in New Zealand now but we've known each other for ever, since our days in Newcastle - 29 years in fact. Anyhoo, I asked Kate to do the drawing of the winning name and she picked.......
Drum Roll please..........
CRAFTY GASHEAD ZO!!!
Woop woop, wild applause, cheers and a fanfare!
Well done, Zoe - this spotty/daisy/gingham bin with pink bling will be
Thanks to everyone for entering - it was fun reading everyone's different colour preferences!!
Thank you all for the lovely comments and support for my first year's blogging - I suppose I'll have to carry on now.... :D

Yours was the first page I went to this week Jan and I wasn't disappointed, it is wonderful. Bright, clear full of great pics and a good write up. What a cheery wake up. Thanks

Hi there. Nice to pop in and see your creative world this week. I won't stay long; don't want to give you my cold! Hope you have a good creative week though.

Such a fab post today Jan. Love all the bright cheery colours. Getting G3 to model your apron was one thing but you could have allowed him to wear some trousers :-)
Hugs,

Well done to the prize winner - that's my combination of choice too! Hope you enjoy using it whilst crafting. Just quickly popping by to see what you're all doing! Have fun on WOYWW. Karen T, 77 x

Well done to the lucky winner of the giveaway

You better carry on, Jan. I look forward so much to our Wednesday chats. You always bring a smile to my face!! Well done to Zoe. No, I'm not green with envy honest, lots of gnashing of teeth and banging of head on desk, lol!!
What gorgeous fabric. I think every man should have an apron in it, at least you'd know he was in the kitchen creating something delicious. .
How lovely to have your friend visiting from so many miles away. I hope you've had a lovely time despite this bloomin weather. Still I suppose it's winter in New Zealand so it won't be much different from what she's left at home.
Have a great week and Happy WOYWW.

Me back again, Jan. See I didn't write enough first time, lol. Just forget to say, glad you liked the ATC. The colours just show good taste that's all!!!!!!
I'm off now, phew she cries.
Hugs Lisax
Oh one of my FAVE colour combos - white, turquoise and red. Lurve it.

Yes indeed. YOU CAN CHECK OUT ANY TIME YOU LIKE, BUT YOU CAN NEVER LEEEEEEEAVE'
OIf course I love the daisies, brillo with the spot...but the stamp fabric is ace for that bag..perhaps you were just in the mood for brighter colours. I'm going to assume that the gorgeous and really quite modest G3 is wearing shorts under the apron...in which he looks fab. And patient!
Beautiful apron indeed! And the bag... and happy WOYWW ! kissinia #38
What a load of lovely things you are showing us this week. Awesome in fact! Love them all and the hanger upper that Zoe has won is fabulous - so bright and blingy.
Hugs and thanks for visiting me - Neet #3 xx
Lovely blog post again LLJ. Loving your bright and breezy creations.
You got a lot of very pretty ATCs too.
Congrats to CG Zoe too. Lucky lady. xxx
I so envy you - your sewn projects are awesome! I wish I could... or at least have the patience to try! ;) Have a happy Wednesday!
Zildara - #70
Definitely - carry on LLJ - love reading your posts. I wish I could have seen G3's face - I can imagine :-) Beautiful sewing projects - Zoe picked the same colours and trim as me - I knew it would look fab! WOYWW Hugs Helen 64
Love the bold flowery fabric, just the ticket to brighten up our dull dreary summer! The stamp tote turned out great and I am sooooo jealous of Zoe! I picked that combo too :o) It looks lovely. x April #88
Some great makes and well done to the winner trace x 52
Jan, I have a thought about a peg bag style you might wanna try out. Will email - yay, your parcel arrived (whispering here) and cheque is on the way too. Hugs, Di xx
That fabric is so gorgeous, I just love the peg basket. It would make hanging out the washing much cheerier. How lucky is Zoe, winning that fab pink bin.
Have a great week.

I truly think you could sew anything and it would all look fab. Your colour selections are beautiful and that is probably why you were sent co-ordinating ATC's.
Sandra @99
Loving that flowery fabric and glad I can be of some use to someone! I was at that shop only Saturday and did you feel the earth tremmor? I did NOT buy a thing! What? No!! Even Stumpy (new name for Hubby - not my doing) could not believe it! Almost as shocking is that the National Trust shop opposite has gone!
Ho Hum! Another victim of the recession no doubt!
Woo! Fabulous sewing on your "desk" this wseek. Glad to see my colour choices made such a good combo - well done to Zoe for winning it! Also good to see that the ATC made it in one piece.
Oooh - guess what?! Lil Miss B won three of the school tickets to an Olympic footie match at the Millennium Stadium... how cool is that? We get to go and see....wait for it....Japan v South Africa - Women's. LOL Still, it'll be a worthwhile experience!
Thanks for stopping by...
I love coming to visit you Jan. That fabric is lovely and I thing the apron is really me, thats what us crafters need. Loving the tote as I do remember you showing the fabric. Enjoy your day. Hugs Rita 75 xx
Thanks for your lovely comment, Jan, and so glad you like my work! Even if you don't do ATCs, I'd still like to send you one because it was you who got me started on Zentangle in the first place, with your tree drawing! Bet you didn't know what you were starting... Anyway, email me (address on my blog) with your address and it will be on its way to you!
I love all your sewing - lovely bright summery colours (to compensate for our non-summer lol!!) and the postage stamp tote bag looks brilliant.
I'm definitely feeling better, but it's up and down. At least it's not all down now, which is an improvement! My own fault entirely for overdoing things, but it was worth it.
Happy WOYWW,
Shoshi #25
I so love your song snips at the beginning. Wow you have been busy again with all that sewing ...and how lucky was Zoe.xx#10

<<>> great post. I am sure G3 is a confident male so it doesn't worry him to model for his Mom...just don't let the face or head creep into it though! Congrats Zoe on winning the prize! Have a great week. Vickie #36
Congrats to your winner, it's beautiful. You have made some lovely things this week Jan, love the bright flowers!

I am so happy Zoe won your bling bag, ( her birthday is this month too ) so that will make her day!! Of course, would have been a wee bit happier if I had won it, lol kudo's to the apron model, lol waving hi from the hills of North Carolina with a hot dog in one hand and a flag in the other! :) #37
Hi jan the binding came from the garden centre just of the motorway junction (by royal wootton Bassett) in the craft area x
Hi Jan, love that bright and cheerful fabric, how could you forget it, and the apron, as modeled by G3, is terrific. Congratulations to Zoe on her win ... love the colours and more of that gorgeous Indian bling trim too. Oh, and do I recognise that bag from which your friend plucked the lucky winner :)) I bet you didn't think a year or so ago that you would have a rare and wonderful collection of ATCs to drool over ... what a difference a year can make! Happy WOYWW, Elizabeth x #85
Love the lovely fresh looking fabric. Great model you have there. Congrats to Zoe on her win. Happy WOYWW. Anne x
Those are some wonderful projects! I love the colors of the fabric in the apron. Dani105
This fabric with all the flowers is wonderful. I think it looks best on the apron. And love your 'stamp bag'. This one looks perfect for shopping. Hope you have a crafty week. Bye, Franka
Oh, what a fabulous stash bag, Zoe won. She picked a great color/bead combo. Love the flower fabric and what you've done with it. The apron is fab! And what a manly man to model it. The stamp tote bag came out excellent. Sorry it caused grief, heartburn, anxiety and ingrown toenails. Some projects are just like that. Hubby wants to lay claim to "Good Day, Sir!" said in a stern voice and isn't giving up "Bugger off" without a fight.
Love the bag and the apron. You make me want to sew. #17
Hi there Lunch lady Jan, Woo hoo, a big congrats to Zo, loving the peg bags and the apron so beautifully modelled {what a kind hearted fellow}..thanks for popping over - and noticed you had the peg bags in your shop too but no dimensions for them...happy WOYWW and yes up watching le Tour yet again!!
