WHEN YOU COME HOME AGAIN TO WALES...
G and I celebrated nine years of being back in Wales last weekend and we genuinely can't tell you where that time has gone! It was the right move for us and we love being back by the sea again - the weather was very much like nine years ago:
Sunshine and showers! And a lovely rainbow to mark the occasion xx There has been more rain than sun this past week so I've spent a fair bit of time in the JanCave getting stock ready for the upcoming fairs.
I had two metres of this pretty hearts fabric and have cut out various bits and bobs.
Everything gets lobbed onto the bed!
Strips and Zips....
Things waiting to have plastic snaps put on...
and zipped bags waiting to be ironed. Those piggies still make me smile!
I've learned how to put fabric tags on the zips for the bags, it doesn't half make a difference to the overall appearance, makes the top lie flatter with no unsightly bulges at the ends (if only I could do that for myself, lol!!) It takes a little more time but is definitely worth it.
And here's my mindless crafting for the evenings, it's a cute little pattern called the Babbity hat and is really simple - it's effective in the variegated yarn.
I'm out at a craft group this morning so comments may be delayed. Hope you're all keeping well and enjoying your makes.
Have a great week!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

9 years? I can't believe that... scary how fast time flies! You have certainly settled in well and it was obviously the right move for you both. Happy WOYWW Helen #2
It’s hard to believe you’ve been back in Burry port for 9 years! I love your makes with the refinement of the zip tab, and those little hats are so sweet! I hope you enjoy your craft group this morning.
Take care and happy WOYWW

Oh such a fab crafty post. Those little hats are perfect. I love the random wool. I've never put tabs on my zips but I bet it does improve the finish and smoothes your lumps and bumps🤣 The rainbow photo is lovely. What a great place to live.x x Jo 🌈
It must be just under 9 years when we visited you there then?.....doesn't time fly. You have been a busy bee with all your makes this week...such gorgeous fabrics.

Wow-you have been busy at your machine and a lovely selection of items to be bought. Enjoy the craft group. Catriona
Dear Jan!
What a lovely blog post again! I love the little baby hat and just had a look to the www for pattern. Found one. In German.
The piggy fabric is so nice. Yes of course, it brings a smile.
In Austria it's so cold! So it's lovely to see the webcam from Burry port.

Goodness, where has 9 years gone - I can hardly believe it's that long since you moved. It looks a wonderful place to be and that's a great photo with the rainbow. I like the zip tab idea, but need to get to grips with 'doing' zips before progressing to master level!
Hope you have a lovely week,
Hugs, Diana xx #11
wow amazing rainbow. Love the hearts fabric and bet you are glad you don't sleep in that bed like I do LOL. the zip tags are a great idea must add that one to my arsenal - I weighed myself last night and I could do with the flatter bit myself - oh my - some mindless evening thing to stop my snacking would help... Hugs Bj#1
Gorgeous baby hats, and great assortment of makes. Time goes by so quickly doesn’t it. Always something new to learn too. Hugs Angela #10
Hi sorry I'm late as I've been on catch up since we got back. Love the fabric collection and the baby hat is so sweet. Wishing you a very happy woyww, Angela x14x
Well I still contest its only been 4 years or so - how on earth have 9 years passed by in the blink of an eye- I've only just got over you moving at all! Love the Babbity hat..wonder why? and you're right, that yarn makes it looke xtra cute. I think all you finishing touches serve to give your makes a cut aboove the normal, and the zip ends are no exception. I often look around other craft fayrs and wonder if any of the fabric crafters have ever used an iron...!
Wonderful sewing projects, well done. Anesha
Hi Jan
Oh I so wish I could visit Wales and you.
You do keep busy. I'm not sure if it's the fabric or the charity work that is your passion. Both, maybe?
Creative Blessings & Hugs!

Congratulations on your 9 year return to Wales anniversary Jan. Loving all those bags - so professional with the matching tab on the zip! Neet has been in touch and she has been allowed home from hospital. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah
We lived in Haverfordwest from 1980 to 1984 then on Anglesey until 1992 - had very happy times there! All our children were born in Wales - now they are all Aussies! LOve all your crafting - in particular the fabrics showing cats and pigs. Lovely little hat too! Happy WOYWW Susan #5
Oh I love the Babbity hat - pretty sure I've done a Babbity jacket before , so maybe part of a set? All the lovely fabric shows both how busy you have been and how busy you will be! And the tab on the zipper is cool. I hear on a video that you can but zippers by the YARD and just cut them to size! Well I never... Happy incredibly late WOYWW!
