CH-CH-CHANGES
Hey there you lovely Deskers, hope you've had a good week! I'm definitely happier that the temps have dropped a bit, so much better for sleeping.
It's a short and sweet affair today - I've been busy but with outside tasks like painting the decking and gardening and those didn't merit any pics!
I have started cutting out some of the new fabrics:
And they're ironed ready for sewing but that's as far as I've got. They've been chucked on the JanCave bed together with the Chr..... fabric and the bucket of strips.
My crafting has mostly been knitting the little festive friends which I've really enjoyed - maybe it's because they're small projects that get finished quickly but they're whizzing off my needles...
More chocolate orange covers....
...and the David Bowie lyric refers to the fact that I'm altering all the patterns I've got (well, there's a change...NOT!)
I altered the snowman pattern then it morphed into being a bear...as you do...I made up a snout and bear ears and am very pleased with the outcome.
The penguin got changed too:
Not quite as menacing as the real Feathers McGraw (from Wallace and Gromit) but he made me laugh. Now to try a Gromit..... little things please little minds and all that lol!!
Have a fab week, I'm hoping to see Wipso and hubby next week, now that'll be good fun xx

your festive critters are great, we forgive you ; and getting ahead is good for the craft fairs. You are an expert at altering patterns. I do agree about it being better for sleeping now it's not so hot, although I see next week is meant to be quite rainy - something else to moan about!! Happy WOYWW Helen #3
Great knits Jan. I love the adaptations. x x
They are all just brilliant what ever you do to them. You will certainly have plenty ready for the craft fairs. It's been cooler here than goodness and some rain too which we really needed. Hugs Angela x11x
Oh what a jolly post - my thoughts are turning to Christmas now so you are not alone. Love all your characters - but that bear! Soooo cute. Thanks for your earlier comment. Sadly the little Community Centre (actually it is quite big but very underused) is under threat from the Council and they would be happy to see any of the established groups fold. The Library which is literally over the road is now community run and they do have a good space and I am thinking we could probably get in there. The problem is parking. The community centre has parking for about 12 cars. If it goes or we move venue that will be a problem. It will stop those with limited mobility and their 'lifts' from coming. It will stop me from driving there because the public transport is possible but extremely limited and would take me around 40 mins each way rather than a 15 min drive. I bring two other people. That leaves about 3 people who walk anyway plus 2 who get a bus. So, I think it will fold eventually. But I don't run this one although I have known some of the ladies for a very long time. it's like a crop, but I'm the only one who gets much crafting done each week, for the others it is mainly company, a cup of tea and chat. Which is fine. Have a great week, love n hugs Cindyxx #10
Love the latest knitties Jan. You can do anything 😁 so looking forward to catching up next week xxx

Your polar bear is so impressive, well done you for modifying your pattern! Feathers McGraw is looking great, too. We know why you’re doing Crimbo crafts now. An idea, don’t know if it’s feasible, is to talk to the RNLI about something they could buy with your fundraising, obviously not a boat but a set of lifejackets or something, so that on your stall you could have the sort of board to show you’re aiming for ?£15,000? which would buy X.
I’m glad the hens looking at Bri gave you a laugh. I hadn’t realised till he sat down how they would look!
I’m glad it’s cooler now, too. Have a great week,
Hugs
Lynnecrafts 5 xx
Definitely better now it is cooler, but how long before we moan about no sun?
Love all your adaptations - the polar bear is fabulous and seeing all these reminds me i have something to show you which I saw on the counter at the chiropractors. I thought of you straight away and so took a photo, will send it to you in a mo.
Meanwhile keep up the good work especially with the knitting and all the lovely fabric you have on show, love the tartan.
`Hugs, to you both

Love the knitted Christmas creatures, and Feathers McGraw too. Have you tried Christmas strips for cushions? Not that you have any spare time 🤣. Great advice re that fabric. I am willing to take a loss when it’s for charity! I kind of buy things with that in mind sometimes 😊 hugs Angela #12
Oh you got me with the Feathers McGraw what a brilliant ch-ch-change he's excellent as too are all the other characters especially like the big snowman. Lovely lot of fabrics all ready to sew too. Defo like the cooler temps but my bedroom continues to be too warm for me, these darn bricks! Hugs BJ#7
Love the knitted critters especially Feathers McGraw! Ouir grandson Ollie loves the Wallace and Gromit film! Happy WOYWW! Susan #1
It is still very hot here, didn´t realise how hot as I have been stuck in that home since end of May with aircon. As always love you material prints, my daughter says I have to have a clear out, have rolls of childrens prints that no one seems to want. Have been following your work with the RLNI. Well done.
Ah you genius! I just love the polar bear. I got the song reference almost before I started reading, it's jj jj just you! Getting a bit more done inside because the cool means I don't feel the need to be outside so much, so it's not a bad thing really! Your Christmas Fair preps are well underway, I expect when you take stock you'll have a fabulous looking stall.
Ooh I love the polar bear Jan. At the rate of one extra letter a week it will be the beginning of October before we get the full word which will be most acceptable by then lol. Thanks for the birthday wishes. Stay safe and happy belated WOYWW. Sarah
ooh love these festive knits and loving feathers McGraw, especially as I am still doing the wallace trail!
