WE WISH YOU A MERRY CHRIS..........

(Nope, can't do it this week either....!)

Hi everyone, hope you've had a great week whatever it is you've been up to. I've been busy with a family visit, working in the RNLI shop and doing a craft fair last Saturday.

I was in my usual spot in the hall, I can put up my stand to hang the bags on and it's out of the way.  I sold one quilt, not the one in this pic but an older diagonal stripes version, so was pleased with that!

Pembrey Memorial Hall is a beauty, it was refurbished a couple of years ago and is a pleasant place to be for a couple of hours. This was just before we opened, it got really busy later and my other pics have too many children in to be published. Funny to think my brothers and I spent many hours here in our youth!

After my weekend visitors (niece Clare and family, the kids were sleeping in the JanCave) I put everything back and started cutting out gnomes....as you do...

.

And I found where I'd put the festive box, hooray for remembering lol!

Most of the crafting is taking place on my dining table, I'm sewing up projects whilst the cooking is going on or between other jobs:

I think the snowmen have had one too many Gluhweins, they're real lightweights - the gnomes are obviously made of sterner stuff. The little mouse is a chocolate orange cover and was quite straightforward to do - another RNLI lady is knitting most of these, I did a good bit of delegating there *grin* but she did volunteer to do them so I don't feel too guilty.

I'm still not sure if they've sobered up yet....lol!

When knitting the mouse's dress, it required two strands of DK knitted together and to avoid getting separate balls tangled, I came up with the patented Appleton system:

Looks daft but worked a treat - I do love low tech solutions!!

Sorry about all the C stuff but I've just got to crack on with it to get sufficient made, the first fairs are only 10 weeks away, blimey.....

Take care and lots of love

LLJ xxxxx

Thanks Jan for the reminder that Christmas is just around the corner. I say that but I love it and I love the tree being up despite it taking two days to do. ('Cos we are old now).
Love all your Christmas stuff and the Crismouse is lovely and should be a good seller, great that you have delegated that one.
Well done on the sale of a quilt and what a lovely stand you had - I spied a striped bag from last week on the front of the bag stand. Not only did you have a lovely stand but you had a lovely building to be in. Love that roof!
Have a great week and just enjoy yourself as what you are getting up to.
Hugs, Neet 1 xx

The snowmen did make me chuckle... but they are very cute! Well done on the latest fair, and selling a quilt. It looks a nice big space in the hall. Your wool separating system seems very effective.... happy WOYWW Helen #2

Your 'nope' title made me smile, but am super impressed that your so on it with the stock..ten weeks away till the first of the C themed craft fairs is quite sobering - better tell that to the snowmen! What fab patterns you've come up with, and I hope doing them now, without the pressure of C time preps in every Avenue of life means that you won't hate it all by December! You're right about Pembrey Hall it's a a beauty, and as so many times I think it's amazing that you're back enjoying it again. Your stand looked marvellous, all that colour and tidy enough to see what you've got. A quilt sale is great, for they are a considered purchase I'm sure. I've been spending time in New Hall and Odstock having the old hernia looked at. What a farce. Overdue a catch up I know, Jen home this week so will try next, bet you had a lovely time with your neice and greats!

Love your low tech solution - now why have I never thought of that! My wool always twists when I do two hearts together. The craft fair in that lovely hall looks fab and well done on the sales. I love your rainbow quilt. As for the C stuff ... Still chuckling at the drunken snowmen- I'm sure there's a song in there somewhere🤣x x Jo 🌈

Well done Jan on cracking on with the Christmas sales stuff. I have been planning with the Shedman about things we could make for my stall-only doing one this year. My daughter helped me to sell stuff on Vinted from my declutter and that has given my charity pot a big boost.,Happy making. Catriona

Chrimbo is certainly happening there I see! Love the shoe solution. A friend used to use big old plastic bottles cut open and the yarn threaded up through the neck and the ball in the base which was reattached somehow?? Who knows?? LOL. Love looking through my albums. I've started adding written memories to the the older ones as I didn't really do that before. Super stall, well done you again. Hugs BJ#8

Congratulations on selling a quilt. I'm sure it's going to be as loved by the new owner as mine is by me. I love your delightful drunken snowmen though I'm still in summer mode and hanging on to it for as long as possible. We have horribly long winters up here. Your low tech solution to the year problem made me laugh out loud. Have a wonderful week. Hugs, Elizabeeth x #14

The week got away from me! Best use for crocs I know of LOL! Such super cute Xmas goodies and well ahead of the game. But then you have to be if you want to sell them in advance of the day. Well done on selling a quilt - that must have filled the charity coffers right up to the top. The snowmen DO look a bit tipsy, but well done the helper.

Happy so late WOYWW!
