WHEN YOU COME HOME AGAIN TO WALES..
Hello everyone, hope you've had a good week whatever you've been up to! Hasn't the weather been amazing - there's been gardening, fence painting, lawn mowing and lots of washing going on as well as a bit of crafting!
I've booked up a fair in June that's in an area of predominantly Welsh language speakers so thought I'd make a few more things in the flag fabric:
And had a big old cutting out session.
Totes, bags, glasses case all ready for putting together.
Putting a zip pocket in a cross body bag - I used pins! Don't faint lol
It has a zipped top as well. Think the next version will have red zips, I think they'll look better. Ah well, it's all trial and error....mostly error in my case!!
I found a bag of zips that I'd got cheap off EBay a while back and never used because they weren't very sturdy:
Like a tangle of snakes! I sorted them out and they're going back on Ebay tomorrow, might as well get rid of them rather than them cluttering up the storage boxes.
And I started another baby blanket, this is a pretty variegated yarn, Cherish by King Cole:
Like Fairisle but without the work! And no ends to sew in either, woohoo! It's the simple things that mean the most eh?
Thanks for reading another week of nonsense, I'd better pull my finger out and think of something to do for the Virtual ATC, talk about leaving it til the last minute....
Have a good week!

I agree that the weather has been lovely - even obliged mostly for my few days off last week. Great Welsh productivity going on there, well done you! I love the wool too. Happy WOYWW Helen #1
Your bag is lovely Jan. I was at a craft fair on Saturday and the Bag lady was selling simple cross body bags for £30. Your Welsh flag fabric is a perfect choice. Enjoy the sunshine. x x Jo 🌈
How did I miss the theme song lyrics at the top last week? I'm singing now.... Love the fabric and I can see how red or green would look best with the bags. The blankie is starting off well - I am knitting a new pattern for the Ukraine shipment for Sue on GoW. It's looking cute so far. Best of luck for the fair. June seems ages away but really it is just around the corner!
Off to knitting but Happy WOYWW!

Good morning my lovely! I have just written you a comment and its disappeared so hope I haven't somehow done it twice! I think you are right about the zip, hope you can find a good match. That yarn is lovely and I love the way it knits up, looks complicated!! Off to put the wash on and make use that lovely sunshine, Have a good week, love n hugs Cindyxx #8
Hi Jan, wish I was like you and could get rid of stuff I don't use. I have this thought that if I let stuff go later I will regret it but I have found a disabled lady that wants to start crafting and I'm sorting out some stuff for her, it's not alot in comparison to what I've got but it's a start. Have a good woyww, hugs Angela x11x
Hi Lovely Lady I like the crossover bas you ar making and look forward to seeing one with a red zip. It will be interesting to see if red wins over white when you start selling.
I never understand why the variegated wool knits up like that. So pretty.
Not long now before that cardigan.
Hugs, Neet xx9
Those Welsh flag bags will be great at your sale. Our Welsh flag peg bag looks positively happy to be on our line with the washing, very jaunty. That yarn looks gorgeous and will make a lovely baby blanket. It’s always good to hen you can minimise ends to weave in.
You’re right saying I was glad to be back at my art class.
Happy WOYWW

The zips look like concealed ones that need a special machine foot to put in. Hope they sell well for you. Have fun sewing but enjoy the sunshine too.
Hugs,

Gosh defo gone all Welsh there today - adore the cross body bag and the variegated yarn. I've not done a virtual ATC yet either but I did buy stamps and now realise why virtual! Can't believe the large letter being so much, it's ridiculous. And as for the Post-its - not a clue just liked them and they called out to me after I'd replaced them on the shelf. Was thinking big notes to hubby maybe, something he might notice rather than walk past! Hugs Bj#7
I think you're right about the zip colour, or even the green if such things are available, much more fun impact! I think the cross body bag is a great idea, bet it becomes a top seller. Fab weather here too, don't want to nibble it, but Bart's having a day off tomorrow, we're going to the beach!! Good grief. Xx
Hi, Jan! It's been a long, long time since I've managed to connect here. My IT skills are lacking! Yes, gorgeous weather for you. Ours vary day to day! Sunny today but rained yesterday. Temperature goes from warm to chilly too. Beautiful work! Love the bag and my daughter would too. Happy Wednesday! Kathryn #16
Oh yes the weather is certainly lovely Jan. Hope you find plenty of red zips for your Welsh flag fabric items. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah
Hello Jan, you're very hard on yourself. I think you're bag looks brilliant without a red zip. They are going to be a sure hit at the fair. And the baby blankets keep coming. I love this one - the yarn is beautiful. Have a great weekend and enjoy International Scrapbooking Day tomorrow! Elizabeth x #14
