IF I COULD WALK WITH THE ANIMALS,

TALK TO THE ANIMALS...

Well, that week whizzed by! As the weather was a bit indifferent, I've had a lot of crafting time in the JanCave, getting ahead for the Spring season of fairs and fundraising.

I was lucky enough to get a sizeable Christmas voucher for PoundFabrics online and tried to get a different selection this time, I thought some animal prints might be popular - not leopardskin as such:

People always love a chicken print so I got the same design in two different colourways:

And found a good lining to go with both!

Not only do we have chickens but also parrots, penguins and sea creatures:

I love the parrot print especially with the hot orange lining, it's one of my recent favourites!

I alternate between crochet and knitting (it helps my hands not be so sore) and I've been knitting squares over the past few weeks - I was just having a count up to see how many more needed making.

They'll make a good blanket I think, a nice fresh combination of colours!

And that's it, short and sweet today!

Have a great week and enjoy your crafting xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Morning my Lovely. I do like your 'chook' fabric, bet it looks good to see the made up pieces together in the light and dark fabric.
But ... like you I am drawn to the bright parrot fabric. How fab will that look made up. The sort of thing that brightens your day, especially if pegging out the clothes first thing in the morning or setting off window shopping.
You mention alternating between crochet and knitting. Well, I am just starting out on the journey of crochet after many many years. Got lots of hooks from my aunt but now realise how they have evolved over the years and are mukch more comfortable for the fingers, Trying to get my tension a bit better, think I am going to be a tight crocheter.
Have a good day/week Hugs, Neet 8 xx

That cool, fresh colour scheme for your squares is perfect Jan. I don't mind knitting squares but hate stitching them together. Your animal print items are fab - I must check out the Poundine website. x x Jo

Lovely prints, Jan, and the orange is superb with the parrot print. . Your blanket squares are beautiful colours. They’ll make a great blanket.
I hope we all get some better weather soon; it’s ‘dreek’ here, as Brian calls it.
Take care and happy WOYWW

Hello my lovely gal, what a gorgeous stash of materials you have there, I love them all (also the chickens though I wouldn't say chickens were my go to design but these are super cool). I love the parrot material. You have done quite a few knitted squares so far. I was going to do some weaving probably more than a year ago and bought the wool, my husband made a frame the size I asked for, but it’s too big and I don’t like to ask for a smaller one 🙈 perhaps I will crochet something! Ah those squares speak of seaside to me, how lovely a blanket they will make. Indifferent weather for sure, am back in my fleece leggings today, having sat around in dressing gown for a while this morning was so cold that I felt obliged! It's all a bit dull and gray, the cold sunshine days are so much more welcome! Love your choices of animal print....leopard print might be a big seller, who knows! Those chickens are fab aren't they.

Definitely love your knitted squares colourway, fresh and cool too methinks. Super fabrics, I had fun with a fabric page in my journal sewing scraps together willy nilly and leaving loose ends too. Hugs BJ#07

Dear Jan!
Most of the time I don't manage to look at your blog on Wednesday.
But I'm even happier the day after.
I love to see your new sewing and knitting projects.
I admire the fabrics. And the knitted squares.
Best wishes, Eva from Austria.

I LOVE the chicken prints! So cute! An the whale fabric as well. What a nice satisfying pile of squares, it will be fun to attach them all together! My vacuum is called Lara because it is a Larestar brand, and I thought it fit. I'm not sure the Tomb Raider would be happy vacuuming my house! Sorry I'm so late, Lindart #18
