ALL YOU CAN DO IS STEP BACK IN TIME...

And just like that, the first week of September has whizzed by - can someone slow down time please? I can't keep up!

As I'm going to have a busy few weeks with playing at the Brass Band National Championships and then going away, I'm trying to build up a store of items for the cafe and am cutting into all the fabric I've got recently:

I've used all the Koi Carp on an ivory background and am just deciding which contrast spotty to put with it.

The taupe won!

I enjoyed making these too, can't go wrong with cupcakes!

And this is the storage in the JanCave wardrobe with some chunky yarns ready to knit hot water bottle covers as well:

But the major event of the next week is the fact that Gordon and I will be celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary on Sunday - and they said it'd never last, lol!!

Blimey but we look young!! I made my dress with my lovely mum and have fond memories of going to London to get the fabric with her.

40 years later....

We haven't changed at all (on the inside!!), still stupid, still laugh at the same crazy things, still love him to bits xxx

And we shall be going away for a special holiday which is why I won't be at the Crop on 1st October, the first I'll have missed since I 'persuaded' Julia to hold one all those years ago. There's just a more important thing for me to do!

Have a great week everyone and take care xxxx

Congratulations and big hugs, a Ruby anniversary is not to be sniffed at in terms of love, well, in any terms actually ! You’re as beautiful now as then, if not so flame haired….wow! Also, your children are your doubles too, love to see you’re perpetuating the look! The stash of makes for the Harbour Lights looks so good that it would be difficult for me to part with, but you know my addiction to filing an empty shelf!

Hi Jan. So many people have their wedding anniversary this month though I guess it's not surprising, you both look lovely and very happy and still do. I have never see the Koi fabric before and love it. Maybe you don't know but it's one of my other hobbies keeping Koi. No wonder the time goes so quickly Lol! Wishing you a very happy and productive woyww, Angela x10x

Many, many congratulations on your Ruby wedding anniversary, Jan and Gordon. I hope your pressie arrives ok, what with all the postal strikes. You’ve hardly changed at all for me.
I didn’t know you and your Mum made your wedding dress. No wonder you sew so well!
Your stock for the Harbour lights is looking good. The koi carp material is so pretty.
Take care and happy WOYWW

A ruby Anniversary - how wonderful - and how happy you looked on your wedding day and how happy you look now. As you say, nothing changed on the inside, still the same two happy people you were all those years ago. Here's to a wonderful happy anniversary celebration 'Oop north.
The Koi Carp fabric looks wonderful, I don't recall seeing that before but I am with you on the taupe for the contrast.
Well, Jan, enjoy your Anniversary next week, hope you have something nice planned for the actual day.
Take care and carry on being who you are
Lots and Lots of Love to you both

Love the cup cake fabrik. And the Kois.
It's so interesting to have a look in the storage in the JanCave wardrobe - to see all the ready sawn fabric treasures.
