O CHRISTMAS TREE, O CHRISTMAS TREE
HOW LOVELY ARE THY BRANCHES
I debated joining in today as I don't have a desk to share - I did a load of sewing last week to fill up my stock boxes and then sent my machine off to be serviced as it has done a mega amount of work these past twenty months. But I feel as if I'd be missing out if I didn't join in the desky snooping!
The Christmas wreath I made is now in situ:
Not bad as everything was free, foraged or kept from last year!
The little pine cone trees have taken their place in my Christmas forest:
Friends old and new! Hey Diana, I still have the gorgeous one you made for me a few years back xx
And I still think of Famfa, a desker from Canada who was a regular WOYWWer for quite a few years - she made me the crochet gnomes and tree. I made the linen and gingham versions ages ago, they were probably some of the earliest things I made after I took up sewing again.
And my blanket is on standby for when I'm having a chat with Lynnecrafts this afternoon via Zoom!
G is ploughing his way through the glass plate negatives and thought you might like to see these.
It has been interesting to look at the fashions of the time especially the children where the size of bonnet is inversely proportional to the size of the child!
They didn't go in for small hats!
Another that caught my eye was a family grouping:
No huge bonnets this time but...stap me.... if that isn't.....
NANNY McPHEE!!!! She did exist after all, lol!
Sorry about the lack of crafting but hope you enjoy my witterings - have a good week and take care away from the madness xxxx
