WHO PUT THE COLOURS IN THE RAINBOW?

Thanks for all the lovely comments last week, it really cheered me up after I waved Julia off that morning wishing we'd had more time together - better than nothing I know but we had too much to say in too little time, lol!

After not completing much at all in the last post, today is completely different - I've been having mad making sessions  and my workdesk has been covered in more fabric than a Savile Row tailor *happy dance*

This was a new ebay purchase, I'm doing more bags etc to sell in the cafe - I had a good time picking out linings for it, rock 'n roll huh?

Lots waiting to be ironed....

Colours everywhere!

A pile of cases and purses waiting to be poppered! The weather hasn't been too great so it was the perfect excuse to play in the JanCave - I had another bout of vertigo as well and sitting still concentrating on sewing helps with the dizziness and takes my mind off it.

There's also been some downstairs crafting (Twiglet, stop sniggering!!)

Knitting ribbed beanies in chunky wool so they grow quickly, they're for Hats for the Homeless. I can do one in an evening as they're very straightforward, I always do ribbed hats because they are stretchy and can fit most heads well. The Fifty Maps books was a prezzy from Julia and is incredibly interesting (I am a Map nerd!)

That's it for today, short and sweet. Hope you're keeping safe and well, have a cracking week xxx

Oh so glad you you managed a bit of downstairs crafting - its amazing how creative you can be with a bit of wool and a few trimmings!! Joking aside - those hats will be much appreciated and I love that tealy/jade colour. All those gorgeous fabrics - what a delight to work with. I hope your vertigo gets better soon Jan - its a misery. The bush has certainly been well watered and is looking perky!! xx Jo

A lovely colour fest, Jan, and what glorious poppies! Love that fabric. Thank you for visiting my blog, and I'm glad you liked my butterfly project. Regarding the giveaway, I think they should be kept as a set to get the full versatility of the collection - I hadn't thought to split them. What a shame you haven't got a die cutting machine!

Oh no, more vertigo. Was it all the talking did one side of your head in? I loved seeing you, yes too short, but in light of dates, we might squash a longer trip in sooner than we thought! What’s seldom is wonderful. *cough*.
Loving all the fabrics today, that orangey red with the yellow flowers is just gorgeously cheerful. I think you’re double kind doing the ribbed beanie pattern, those of us who aren’t pin heads applaud you.

I live with another map nerd and part of his pressie this Christmas will be a map book. I like maps too but I tear them up for crafting (ok only old ones lol).
Love the poppy fabric, how bright is that - should sell well, especially as Remembrance Sunday is coming up. All that sewing - wow, you are a gem and Burry Port is lucky to have you as one of its residents these days.
Sorry to hear the vertigo has been bad, have you had your heart and eyes/ears checked lately? Can't think of anything else it could be.
Love the hats you are knitting, you really are an absolute gem with all that you do.
Hugs, Neet xx

I so love your fabric collection and the results of your work too. Hope the dizziness doesn't spoil your fun. You asked me about the metallic cord on the cards. To be honest I just attach it with a dab of glue and then layer things on top to secure it so nothing very clever I'm afraid. Wishing you a very happy woyww, Angela x12x

As this post is so inspiring I feel like I need to be looking at my yarn stash again and maybe dragging out my little circular knitting machine. It would be a great way to both eat thru much of my stash AND make something useful. Having said that, it doesn't do ribbing - it isn't hard to make the hat then ADD ribbing as hand knitting, but ribbing all along? not so much. Loving all the fabric - what an eBay haul!

Happy WOYWW, all jabbed!

Hi Jan, you asked about my Low Carb diet, I'm doing OK, but losing very slowly. Last time I did Low Carb I was in my 50's, and I lost a LOT of weight. It seems much harder now, and I only have 25 more pounds to lose, so there's that as well. But I've done Low Carb, Calorie Counting, and Weight Watchers, and I like Low Carb the best. It's the tastiest! I really don't miss the bread or sugar. I can actually make a low-carb yeast bread machine bread! I don't do "strict Keto", but I follow a woman who started "Dirty, Lazy Keto". It's essentially doing keto her way, by breaking a bunch of rules! She has a bunch of cookbooks out, and she's on You Tube (DLK). She's down to earth, funny, and gives great advice. No "keto police" here (they are the ones always pointing out "that's not keto!")! I almost didn't do low carb/keto when I got a book on it - it was nuts. Only eat grass fed beef, organic veggies, a certain type of wine that I've never heard of, all these supplements - luckily the bookstore let me return it and I discovered DLK - about the opposite of the book I had bought! Have a great day!
