WOYWW 625

OH I DO LIKE TO BE BESIDE THE SEASIDE...

What a really lovely time I had last week on the WOYWW anniversary, it was such a great time just being part of the desky love. Thank you for sharing and commenting each week, I really do appreciate it xx  And the Happy Mail has been arriving and I've loved getting them all:

From Diana, Lynne, Zsuzsa, Wipso, Cindy, Margaret, Caro and Helen.

Mary Anne, Twiglet, Debbie and Neet xx

And Ali! Thanks for the reminder about Solva, I haven't been there for years!

A whole heap of crafty sisterly sharing. thank you so much! I save all the stamps and give them to a lady who's raising money for a Motor Neurone Disease charity, so they don't go to waste either! That pleases me immensely....

So, the desk:

This makes me smile, look at those bright fresh colours! I'm continuing to make some sea creatures for the town yarnbombing project - trust me to go off piste (!) but I did check that sewn items were ok before I jumped in.

I found some simple drawings online that I'm using as templates:

And am just using up what scraps I have:

Fun eh? I'm going to do the ice cream cone in felt with some 'raspberry sauce', sprinkles and maybe a Flake (that's a small chocolate bar for our non UK deskers!)  I've got enough beads and bits and pieces to achieve that *grin*

I hope this week is a good one and that it's going to get a bit drier and warmer. My little town was top of the BBC wind speed chart last Friday, it was seriously frightening with gusts of 75mph, thankfully no damage to us or the neighbours. I'd quite like to sit in the sunshine or do a bit of gardening, that's not too much to ask for!

Take care and see you next week xx

I wish I could have worked out a way to get a decent sized photograph of all my atcs with postcards, I probably should have used the camera not my phone! It was a very happy week of mail arriving I agree. Your yarn bombing accents are coming along a treat! Hope the weather does improve for the weekend (and ahead) - it has truly been awful!! Hi Jan, What lovely happy mail you have had. Good that the stamps are not wasted.

Loving the material for the sea creatures.

We had warnings about gusting winds, but they weren't as bad as they had forecast.

Hope the weather improves, so you can get out into your garden.

Hugs
Sue

Same here Jan, I too am ready for a bit of sunshine sitting.
EWell, you certainly got some beautiful atc's there, what a lovely display!
As for this yarn bombing, I cannot wait to see the photos of it all when it is completed. I can just imagine how your various little figures will make it that tad different and add spice to what is already something that brightens up the world. Your work will be the raspberry sauce and the sprinkles on the yarn bombing.
Hugs to you, Neet 1 xx

I enjoyed seeing all the ATCs in one spot. Loved seeing the postcards, too. I think this yarnbombing project looks like fun. I also love the colors you chose. Happy WOYWW from # 3.

I always end up with fabric envy when I visit you, even tho' my recent sewing has been basically all masks LOL! I found something during my tidy (and have since lost it again) which I may have to send to you - it might be a good fundraising item that uses not a lot of fabric. It may take me a while to unearth it again but I will...one day. Lovely ATC gallery! Always fun to confirm what a telented bunch we are LOL!

Happy WOYWW

Hello my dear Jan ... aren't all the ATC's simply wonderful! So many varied and personal little works of art totally representing those who have made them.
Can't wait to see your town yarn/fabric bombed - shall, of course, be looking out for all your fishes and seahorses. Much love to you from Debbie - er, no idea of my number but it might be 21 xXx

Hi Jan, what lovely ATCs! Your yarn bombed town is going to be a dazzler! Neet’s right, yours are going to be the 100s and 1000s of the whole show. I love the fresh colours you’re using.
If the forecasters are right then we’re due for good weather this weekend, in contravention of the regulations that say every British bank holiday should be a washout. It would be so nice to have some sun!
Take care and happy WOYWW!

Receiving the happy mail through the post all week has been so lovely - a real delight - you have a fab collection there. I love your jazzy sea creatures and the ice cream sounds particularly appealing!! Here's hoping we get some decent weather soon, our garden desperately needs some tlc!
Have a great week,
Hugs, Diana xx #25

Happy WOYWW. A fantastic collection of ATCs and postcards. You must just sit and stroke them! Loving the fabric sea-theme cut outs, and the bright colours. So glad the weather has calmed down now - and warmer/brighter forecast for the weekend. I plan some walks (carefully choosing the location to avoid bank holiday crowds) or bike rides. Ali x #28

You're one of few people who seem to have any crafting going of this week, Jan! I guess we're all a bit jaded after making all these ATCs! It was so lovely to receive them all - I felt totally spoiled! Your watercolour poppy is gorgeous - no one would think you've only recently taken up this hobby! I must find out how Ali did her ribbon - it looks like it was printed or perhaps stamped? I'll ask her when I visit. Happy #625! xx zsuzsa #26

Happy WOYWW. The wind kept me awake one night - I thought the awning was going to take off! It was noisy too. You have received some fabulous ATC’s. I love those little sea horses x Angela #12

Your post has made me chuckle - making "Sea Creatures" and there's an ice cream cone.... the ideas that sparks - going fishing for icecream, harvesting it like one would oysters or mussels... or it mooching along the sea floor like a sea cucumber.... ROFL

Thank you for the lovely ATC - I shall truly treasure it! Along with the nice postcard of course. Yours is in the post today, and whilst I can't guarantee it'll be with you tomorrow (as it seeming takes an extra day to get anywhere from down here - insert eye roll here), it should be with you on Friday. One hopes!

Happy WOYWW

Well Missus, it’s 3pm and it hasn’t rained at all today. Am feeling a bit like I will have nobbled it by saying so, but hey, one day of the month without rain wind or hail will surely lead to another???!!! Loving the seaside shapes, can’t wait for the ninja yarn bombers to set it all up. You may have to knot a lot of black balaclavas to enable them! Last week was fun and you’ve gathered some very inspiring bits of art there, I must say.

Yes it is your ATC travelling the world on it’s way to me. It just extends the excitement! Just one of those things. The weather is awful isn’t it?! They’ve even just mentioned it on Spring-watch saying that everything is late as a result this year. They’ve had to enter and exit by the back door in Newport because the front door has swollen shut! I can’t wait to see the yarn bombing project!! Stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #8

Hi Jan, even though I didn't take part, I'm loving seeing everyone's ATCs and postcards. Happy mail is always nice to receive! The fabric you are using is perfect - can't wait to see the icecream cone. I'm sat in the garden at the moment, enjoying the peace and sunshine, listening to the birdsong. But ... I can't wait to get out and about and be walking by the sea somewhere! Thanks for stopping by my blog, I'm undecided for the use of the wooden box, but it will definitely be decoupaged. Have a lovely week, Heather xx #17

Hi Jan!
What a lot of lovely ATCs you’ve received. Great to see them.
I accompanied my Husband to Italy, to a parachuting event, so I didn't comment last week. You were diligent! And you had a good time.
Look foward to seeing the photos of your city after the yarn bombing.
Have a nice Sunday, enjoy the sun!
Stay well.
