WOYWW 624 - TWELVE YEARS OF CRAFTY FUN!

 THANK YOU FOR THE DAYS...

...and the weeks, months, years of WOYWW. And Julia, of course, without whom all these desky shenanigans wouldn't happen! And you, lovely deskers and followers who make each week such fun, I appreciate the friendship, camaraderie and sharing of ideas in this wonderful forum, it is a life enhancing thing which I'm so glad to be part of!

Long may it continue!!

Here are the ATCs and Postcards I made/had printed:

And brace yourselves, I even stamped on the envelopes! I know, wonders will never cease, lol!

There's been a bit more crafting this week which has been a lot of fun - my bro and SiL came for a socially distanced visit and Jill helped make some fish for the town yarnbombing project, using up odds and ends in the process:

Jill is the gal who does the amazing quilting, this was a bit more rough and ready but she got into the swing very easily.

No rules just dive in and have some fun!

We made jellyfish too and soon we had a bowl of piscatorial perfection.....

We did use mostly scraps but I saw some fabric on ebay and just had to get some:

Isn't it fab? It looks really great sewn up, I'm not going to use it all for the fishies, watch this space!

Thanks to my mates Helen and Kim who helped me with some socially distanced cutting out as well, carried out whilst chatting and drinking tea.... gotta be done sometimes *grin*

There we are, some fun items to share on this special day, I'm thinking of Shaz as well and sending virtual hugs skyward.

Have a fab week and I look forward to seeing all the amazing creations on your desks today - it really, truly, never ever gets boring!!

With love and hugs ,

LLJ xxxxxxx

You have a lovely amount of fish and jellyfish to share with us, but I loved the stamping on your incredible ATCs. I'm super impressed. You have mastered stamping, but I will never master sewing. Happy 12th anniversary from # 10.

Hi Jan,

Think I first came across WOYWW in year 3. I cannot believe it's been 9 years. Always enjoy seeing what others have done, even though I do not craft that much these days.

Your ATCs and postcards are lovely. I've never thought ab out stamping the envelope.

That fabric is lovely.

Glad you had the company of your brother and sister-in-law. Also that you had Helen and Kim helping.

Happy 12th WOYWW

You, my dearest Jan, are the sweetest most special friend to me! Thank you SO much for your wonderful ATC & postcard ... I certainly will treasure your little work of art and you brought tears to my eyes for including me in the anniversary when I really am appallingly bad at joining in each week.
Can't wait to see your town all yarnbombed/fished/jellyfished/mermaided up ... be sure to take photos!
I shall be forever grateful that you came into my life via the enigma that is Julia ... Happy 12th Anniversary my dearest. Love you heaps, Debbie xXx

Morning Jan, and a very happy WOYWW anniversary.
You have clearly been extremely busy with your fishes and jelly fish and ATCs, and I did do a double take at the thought of you "stamping on the envelopes", visions of frustrated Jan throwing them on the floor and treating them to a pair of Dr Martens, or similar, then I looked back at the picture and realised what you meant. They look extremely professional.
Bless you for sharing

Oooh that scaly fabric is lush! love it! I already got your ATC and post card - you really inspire me with your progress on watercolours - amazing work. I have such a busy hospital week this week but will get mine in the post by Saturday. Like you, I am missing our lovely Shaz on this of all weeks. May we meet in person one day soon.

Happy 12th Anniversary to all my desk-hopping mates!

Second time trying. Love the little fish you and Jill made, you are a talented duo - so glad you had fun together making them all - a great addition to the yarn bombing. When I went into Bury yesterday to post my ATC's the post box had a knitted bonnet on it, looked rather cute but as I didn't look cute I didn't stay around to photograph it.
I adore that fabric you bought, that is definitely Jan fabric and I cannot wait to see what you make with it. Perhaps Betty will model all the fishes etc at some date for us.
Take care and thanks for being Julia's second in command and keeping us going through times she couldn't.
Loads and Loads of hugs

Those fishies are cute! And what a wonderful time to spend with friends and family making them. I've received your delightful ATC and the photo of the lighthouse (I just LOVE lighthouses - they're so symbolic!) - thank you so much - watch out for mine, probably still slugging through the postal system in second class LOL! (all explained in my post today!) I thought of Shaz too when I came across her address on my swap list from two years ago - she wouldn't have missed this one for the world! Happy anniversary! xx zsuzsa #17

Your little fishes are so cute and the fish-scale fabric is perfect - they look really spectacular among the others, what a brilliant 'find'. I have already receivd your beautiful ATC and postcard - the watercolour poppy is stunning - you are so talented, and I love the picture of the lighthouse - thank you so much. I gave a nod to Shaz on my ATC's this year with a little Lavinia stamp toadstool.
Happy 12th Anniversary and a big thank you and hugs for the fun and friendship over the years.

Thank you so much for my beautiful ATC and postcard!! How clever to send it so it would arrive in time for the anniversary. Didn't think of that, doh. When thinking who I might swap with my thoughts turned to Shaz as well, as she would always be on my list. Love the fish, they are just so jolly! Don't know quite what you are doing but locally they have been 'bombing' the pillar boxes. Such fun, I have no idea who is responsible. Have a lovely week, happy anniversary, love n hugs Cindy xx

Happy 12th Anniversary WOYWW. Thank you so much for helping Julia to keep this going for so long. We definitely need another South Wales/Wiltshire meet-up again sooner rather than later. Everything crossed that Wales will be able to continue with its gradual 'opening up'. Thank you for the wonderful surprise envelope (stamped!) yesterday. Didn't realise you had the postcards printed until I caught up with your blog this morning. What a great idea. I have had greeting cards and notecards made up before, but now going to select some of my favourite photos for postcards. The local village shop I went to on Monday didn't have a big selection, but I didn't fancy braving the crowds down at Solva Harbour to go in a gift shop there. The carpark was full, as it usually is outside the winter. Great for the businesses, but as a 'local' we feel the need to moan about the traffic (drivers who don't know how to reverse on narrow lanes!). Loving the fish/jellyfish etc, and that fabric is glorious. Ali x #34

What I love most about visiting your blog is 3 things - I get a new ear worm from your song lyrics, I feel like you are just down the road instead of 200 miles away, and I always see something that makes my face break into a big grin! Fabulous fishy fabric for supersonic sea creatures! Thanks for the dizzy-info - it really is odd as I can move my head around fine etc (had labyrinthitis before and that really SUCKS!) It looks like BP dropping but it's not, other funny stuff going on too, been checked for all the normal culprits so now waiting on an ultra-sound... what fun... Anyway, happy anniversary! Morning Jan. Piscatorial perfection... goodness me! Did you manage to swallow ALL the dictionary this morning?? The dish of goodies actually looks great - and I hope to see some fish made out of that fabulous material! It sounds like you have had a brilliant week - all that meeting with people. I have been into town this morning, and think I have met up with more people today than I have for a couple of months - it felt really lovely. How good it was to see the coaches outside the hotels after all these months!
Happy anniversary to you. It's such fun getting to now so many different people - I'm hoping it won't be too long before we get to meet up in real life again!!! Many thanks for the gorgeous stamped envelope and enclosures! That was a lovely surprise. I hadn't even expected to be here today as i should have gone away last Saturday... but there we go. net Monday instead. Just another dozen things to cross off my to-do list...
Take care. God bless.

Well it wouldn’t be the same without you for sure. Those words are a bit inadequate but they at least convey part of it! a love the bright splashy colours on the banner, it’s fab. And the fabric....isn’t that a lovely picture of Gill at the machine. Great way top entertain guests on a blustery day, surprised they didn’t put on their boots and walk around Wales in a couple of hours! Love the postcards, such a grand photo, innit.

LOLOL Monday night was the exception to that rule!!! LOLOL I loved your colorful table pic! That's the first thing I noticed with all those yummy ribbons and scraps for your project with SIL!! Lots of lovely stitchy goodness on your blog this week, my lovely! Fab ATCs - if you have a spare one I'd love it - and will send one to you regardless as one turned into 8 this morning.... teeheee... you're getting rather good at this watercolour lark. I've got as far as purchasing a new pad of watercolour paper, and digging out my paints and brushes, and watching a lot of YouTube..... but no further. Maybe it's time to push myself to dip that brush in the paint and lay it on water. You'd think I'd be less nervous of it, with an Art A Level under my belt, but I spent two years avoiding paint like the plague! LOL

Happy WOYWW 624 to ya - may there be many more.

Hi Jan, happy 12th Anniversary WOYWW. Fantastic achievement by Julie, aided and abetted by your good self to keep this blog going so long. I'm so glad I finally started joining in, and met you and many others at the crops I have been too. I know I'm not the most regular visitor, and sometimes a bit of better planning wouldn't go amiss (so I could join in with the ATC swap lol), but I really do enjoy being part of the 'family' and I thank you you making me so welcome. My brother has ordered a JanBlan, so I have an adult size one to make again. I'm much better at the smaller baby ones! I received a photo today of a new baby in my blanket ... she is so cute! Love the fish scale material you bought - I can't wait to see what you produce with it. Something stunning as always! The fishes for the yarnbombing all look great too. Have a lovely week, Heather xx, #20

Ooh what gorgeous projects, Jan! I adore the fishy fabric and all those fabulous little fishies and jellyfishes! So imaginative. Your cards are beautiful too. Thank you for your visit and I'm so glad you enjoyed seeing the finished kitty throw and liked the border too. My hubby is absolutely thrilled with it and says all the kitties have different personalities and the cat stitch ones look like a whole choir of kitties! As for his card, I wasn't that thrilled with the result but he loves it! Glad you like the jumper too.

Happy belated WOYWW,
