WOYWW 550

SO HERE IT IS, MERRY CHRISTMAS,
EVERYBODY'S HAVING FUN!

It's the final run-up to Christmas and suffice to say, it's been a busy one. I have four more gigs to play and then I'm done! The Christmas parties and get togethers have been brilliant, it's been such a laugh and I am so lucky to have some truly wonderful friends.

Janet from WI came over last week and we had a very happy morning making table decorations for the Christmas party which was yesterday. We amassed a whole lot of stash and recycled ornaments between us and set to with a hot glue gun each!

It was Christmas carnage in the kitchen!

The only thing that was new were the cake boards.

Every time one was finished it went on the dining room table - these are mine.

The pom poms were fun and the origami trees worked really well...

But this was my favourite!  Being good recyclers, we'll keep the cones, baubles and boards and see what we can come up with next year, lol!

Don't mess with us crafting gals!!
We've got a hot glue gun and we're not afraid to use it!!!

I made a hanging for the WI Christmas competition and showed you the start a couple of weeks back - well, against some very stiff opposition, I won!

I had such good fun with this - it just came together in a couple of hours. I put it into the raffle and someone snaffled it up which was lovely.

I have been out playing carols a lot too - we were in Tesco on Saturday:
This was the morning group just finishing - I was in the 1-3pm section. We collect for the band funds doing this as it takes some cash to keep an organisation like ours going.
The S4C programme about the band and how we support the community at Christmas is going out at 9pm on Christmas Day. S4C can be found on Sky, Virgin Media and Freesat if you're interested. They focussed on the Welsh speakers and the family members but you may see me in the background hiding behind my tuba, lol!

Have a lovely week and if you don't post next Wednesday, may I wish you and your family a Happy, Healthy and Craft Filled 2020. xxxxx

Do you get anything done for your own Christmas in amongst all these other gigs and things you're involved in?! Knowing you you are all ready and sorted... I shall try and catch the programme at some time -not yet sure where I am on Christmas day yet (ever organised, my brother!) Well done for winning the competition - a beautiful hanging and no wonder it won! Happy Christmas if we don't "meet" again before the big day. Helen #7

What brilliant photos this week Jan. I have made a note of the new programme time and will set it on the planner this evening. Thanks too for the card. I am afraid that I have been very remiss with posting this year but there is a virtual one on my desk for everyone today. Hope you have a lovely Christmas. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #6

Morning Jan. Well, what can I say to a young lady wielding a hot glue gun with attitude?! Those table decorations are stunning. I'm sure there was a lot of conversation around them at the party. Love the tree in the background by the way! Well done - taking the prize in a WI contest is no mean feat!
The band photo looks great, and I do hope I can find S4C on Christmas Day - otherwise I might just have to ask if you are recording it - not sure if it will be available at all over in Lincolnshire...
Take care. God bless you both. Have a truly beautiful Christmas.

Impressive glue gun Mrs, and it looks as if you’ve got the better of it....nothing that can’t be stuck up with a glue gun!!

I can't visit your blog without smiling! What a great photo with the glue guns and those table ornaments look fantastic! Congrats on your prize for the beautiful hanging ornament - it must have been so hard to give it away in the raffle but I'm sure whoever won it is absolutely delighted! I would have liked to listen to your band play at Tesco's - I bet the acoustics are pretty good in there - not that I know anything about music LOL! Wishing you and your family a very happy and peaceful Christmas, Jan! xx zsuzsa #19

Hi Jan, looks like a fun fun week is going by and I too loved the glue guns mug shot :) The cake boards is a cool idea I like the shinny and the thin-ness of them as a base too. ~Stacy #26

What a lovely post, Jan - carnage in the kitchen and all! The 2 crafty girls with the glue guns made me think of a duel - "glue guns at dawn" - a fight to the death lol! Love the band pic and all your cake boards.

Thank you for your visit - so glad you liked my Tudor gown! If you pop back, I have just updated the photos with better ones that a friend took this afternoon, complete with the jewellery I wore. Also the Zentangles - I really enjoyed doing these, a combination of Celtic art and Zentangle, and am keen to try more in this vein.

Have a lovely Christmas and happy WOYWW,

What a fun filled post - filled with lots of lovely cheer for Christmas. I love the tree in the background that we can just peek at through the open door. Gorgeous table decorations, why not save the boards too and put some snow over the bits that have glue on them another year?
Love the way you two gals are holding your guns, I think they would be almost as dangerous as a real one - that glue gets mighty hot doesn't it.
Hope to post next week but just in case I don't may I wish you and yours a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year.
Hugs, Neet 11 xxxx
also grateful for the fun and friendship xx
