STEP INTO CHRISTMAS

Life continues to whoosh by - much like the weather this past couple of days! The one good thing about it being stormy all day yesterday is that I spent quite a lot of it crafting :-)

This was the desk yesterday morning at 10 - it was so dark I had to put the lights on to see what I was doing!  I'm catching up on a couple of late items and have a production line going.

Tomorrow will see me making some more origami Christmas trees with some help from Janet, my WI mate, We'll be making table decorations for the WI party next Tuesday.

This also involves pompoms....

And my good mate Helen turned up trumps when I needed a few different sizes to the Clover makers I already have. I'm very lucky to have friends who are willing to make/create/bake at the drop of a hat.

Carmarthen is my local town and the shopkeepers have done some great windows - just up the hill from the book Christmas tree is a cafe featuring this:

Fun huh? And all recyclable cups too :-D

My eldest son sent me this pic of his decorating - he said he had no baubles and had run out of space to dry his washing hence:

Um...... well, it's different!  Sock-a-licious :-D

I am out all day and playing carols this evening so I may be very late commenting, apologies.

Have a lovely week!

Brilliant festive post Jan. I love my little pompom makers - they are so quick to do aren't they. Hope we see the finished table decs. xx Jo

Now which do I prefer, the cafe tree or that of your son - that is the question? Both very clever but was the sock one a hint to mum?
Never thought about those pom pom makers coming in so many different sizes, still I should have employed common sense and realised. Good luck with them all and with the trees.

Happy WOYWW. It has been so dark recently. I really look forward to some lighter skies. Another storm forecast for tomorrow, so I need to make an effort to at least take the dog for a short walk (didn't venture outside at all yesterday). Thank you for the Christmas card, which doubled our collection! I have definitely noticed that fewer cards are posted recently. A lot of my friends do a message on Facebook. Haven't been to Carmarthen for ages. Keep meaning to go up on the train, but trains aren't running down this way at the moment. Perhaps we could meet up there in January? Ali x #15

Hi Jan, Glad you had plenty to keep you occupied in side, whilst the wind blew.

Hope you and your friend Janet get the table decs done for the WI party.

Great idea to use the cups for the snowman. Did smile at your sons tree. Inventive.

Hope you enjoy the carols this evening and you have a nice day.

Happy WOYWW

Hiya Jan, laughing here at his tree! The snowman from cups is totally fab, how very clever! Now I'm intrigued by what a Clover maker is? Doug put up some strip lights in my craft room when we did it out, and I have Daylight bulbs in them, they do make a big difference. Love & hugs to you all, Shaz #3 XxXxXx

Ha, Owen’s interior decor skills at their finest!! Love it. Are you in jewellery roll mode there? Looks like they’re a hit too, clever you. It seems that if I’m in, you’re out and vice verse. What with WI and music commitments I expect this Christmas season is busier than ever. Xxx

I've had to finish two more Memory bears this morning before I could check out my favourite blogs so I'm a little later visiting today.
Love the desk all ready to produce and your sons tree is real fun :-)

I'm still laughing at your son's ingenuity! That's quite a sight - a dual purpose Christmas tree! The shopkeepers in your town are just as creative - how do they come up with these amazing ideas? Glad you got lots of crafting done during the stormy weather - I can't imagine anything more cozy than being cooped up in my craft room with the weather raging outside! Happy WOYWW Jan! zsuzsa #19

I always think that a rainy day is the perfect excuse for staying in and crafting, Jan. Best to make the best of it. That's an impressive collection of pom pom makers - you definitely have a lovely bunch of friends. I love the coffee shop snowman - he's gorgeous - and your son's tree decorations are just as impressive, especially the Marigold topper. Hope you've had a great day out. Hugs, Elizabeth x #22

Hi Jan. Love your son's Christmas tree. Are we to assume that he is hoping Santa will be exceedingly generous this year?? Fantastic snowman in the window. Well done on the origami trees - never seen anything like it!
Hope the carols are going well this evening.
Take care. God bless.
