THERE'S WHISKEY IN THE JAR.....

Hello lovely friends, hope you've had a good week! Mine has whizzed by (again!) but it wasn't just this past seven days...we celebrated our 2nd anniversary of moving to Wales!! Good grief, I can't believe it...

The desk has seen a little sewing action:

I've been cutting out some of the paw print fabric to make basic tote bags to sell down the harbour cafe. The crochet squares are for the WI blanket scheme and are made with yarn donated to me by Anne Copperbeech!

Nice bright colours to cheer up January!  I also mended some RNLI tabards, which was just a matter of reattaching the velcro ties at the sides.

We've tried to get out when we could - it's been bracing though!
These catkins were almost luminous on a dull day - proper signs that Spring will be here soon!

We did one of our regular litter picks last Friday, the sun was shining and the tide was high, there are worse things to be doing eh?

And the reason for the song lyric today?

My music stand at practise on Sunday! A little thank-you from the owners of Seren, the dog for whom I made the eye patch. They know me so well......;-)  Needless to say, practise went VERY well that night, lol.

Hope you have a lovely week and have fun crafting xxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Jan, Bet the bags will sell well.

The pink squares are nice. Hope we get to see the finished blanket.

Those Catkins sure do look luminous.

You are good to litter pick on the beach. It so annoys me when people just leave litter around.

Bet you were nice and warm with some of the Whiskey inside of you.

Happy WOYWW

Happy WOYWW. Yes, we need those bright colours at the moment. It has been so grey and damp in west Pembrokeshire for what seems like weeks. The sky is brighter this morning, so it should be nicer when I go into town to do a bit of last minute grocery shopping (we leave for the airport on Friday afternoon, but we still need some veggies and fresh milk before then), plus library and bank. There is snow on the Preseli Hills, which we can see clearly from the farm, but I think it is mostly going to be rain here (nice!). I had a personal weather forecast from 'Derek The Weather' and he assures me that the M4 will be fine on Friday when we drive up to Bristol Airport. We will take the farm truck if there is any risk of ice. The Maserati doesn't cope well with slippy surfaces! Ali x #8

Our hazel is festooned with catkins - they look great, but they mean my hayfever starts in January...
Great photos!

Hiya Jan, lolling at that! Love that song, btw. The original and the Metallica version. Was a huge Thin Lizzy fan. Good grief, can't believe you've been there two years! Where the heck has that time gone? Gorgeous colour of those catkins, they do indeed seem to be glowing. Bit frosty here today, had a sprinkling of snow yesterday evening, supposed to get quite a bit tomorrow. Love & Hugs to you all, Shaz #7 XxXxXX

Oh, how I love that Welsh coastline (yep, visited Wales ages ago.... and fell in love with the landscape ánd the language, although I didn't understand a think...) And yup, you have me singing that song now. I saw your 'knit needle roll' on your blog a few weeks ago and I made a similar project... it is on my blog today. Thank you for the inspiration! Happy woyww and a hug from Holland, Marit #18

Two years ...wow, but it has been some beautiful photos you have shared all this time. I love the area. SPRING can never come too soon We have minus 50 Wind chill and by Saturday plus 40 crazy. Thankful for electricity to keep warm and enjoy being inside all day. Warnings to stay off the roads. So most everything is closed up tight. Ok by me. Enjoy all your fun projects, have a happy week #19

Happy 2nd anniversary - we're coming up to 18 months, but it seems a lot longer to me! Loving the paw print fabric - it will be popular with pet owners. The beach shot looks gorgeous - and not a piece of rubbish in sight! Lovely sunshine and blue skies - I bet it was cold though! I was going to clean up our country lane as well - annoyingly, people use it as a short-cut and throw rubbish out their car window. I mean, who even does that? I guess, it's the same type of person who litters on the beach. Happy Wednesday - enjoy the scotch! zsuzsa #20

Sometimes I need Mr. Google to understand all. But I'm so happy to follow you. Always News, always buzzy, never grumpy. I admire you. Can we see the finished projects? Specs cases or tote bags?

Lovely fabric again and delicate shade of pink. My Czech friend loves a drop of glenfiddich but ruins it with coke. We do beach litter pickups plastic isn't too bad but the fishing tackle is. Ani #12

And here's me thinking you were just a Gin Girl!
Congrats on your second anniversary - it doesn't seem that long since you moved in some ways and yet, in others it feels you have been there ages. Guess you are just part of the furniture now - you settled in so quickly and it is lovely to read about your exploits with the band and WI. Not to mention your walks with DH on those gorgeous beaches.
Love the catkins.
Hugs, Neet 1 xx

You’re right, they do look luminous, them catkins. Bet they wouldn’t glow like you will after a couple of drams from that lovely pressie!

That's the scotch my hubby always orders when we go out! He has a lovely collection at home, but rarely drinks it (I don't like it). I love the paw print fabric, in fact I was looking at a bag the other day made from similar fabric, thinking it would be good forcat moms as well as dog moms! You must get Spring a LOT earlier than we do - tomorrow we will have Groundhog day to tell us whether we will have an early or late spring. No sign of any spring yet! Thanks for your visit, have a great week! Lindart #24 PS-Mittsy has rushed out into the snow a couple of times now, doesn't seem to care, or didn't notice as she was so excited to have escaped! PPS-thanks for your input on the inks!

Hi Jan, you've been busy, much busier than me. I love the fabric - very cute. The catkins are indeed glowing and I bet you glowed too after your litter picking session - just as well you had that wee nip to look forward to. Sorry I'm late - I'm not too well at the moment so now trying to catch up with this phone - a slow job. Hugs, Elizabeth x #23
