WOYWW 395

Sing reign of Fair Maid, with gold upon her chin,
Open you the East Door, and let the New Year in.

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas - it was a time of happiness tinged with sadness for me, truth be told, but we saw friends and family, ate some gorgeous food and sank a few bevvies too. And now the New Year comes galloping swiftly towards us - it's going to be a time of great change for me and my family. A new home in a new area will be the first challenge - feel the fear and do it anyway :-D

The desk is still a dumping ground!

The only crafting I've done is some crochet...but I've done a lot of craft magazine reading. My hubby and I signed up for Readly, an online mag subscription service. £7.99 a month for all sorts of mags from crafting to photography to lifestyle to tv pages to celeb stuff. It's excellent, we've both enjoyed it very much and seeing that most mags cost about £4 each, you only have to read two and the monthly sub is paid for!

I'm using up some Stylecraft Aran weight yarn for another charity blanket - it's mindless crafting but it increases quite quickly while tv watching/radio listening!

That's it really - I'd like to thank you all again for the support throughout this year. I wish you peace, joy, fun and friendship through the brand new year!

May....
...be a wonderful year for us all.

And lastly, thank you to my wonderful hubby - a new chapter in Wales awaits us both...

See you all next year!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I was going to say 'Hope Wales holds all the happiness in the world for you two' but I should say "Wales will hold all the happiness in the world for you two" - no need to hope, being positive about it for you. Wishing you all the very best for your new home which will be a new venture and an adventure all rolled into one.
Remember, you will have a new desk to be used for creativity and for dumping when you move so it won't be that different will it?
Love the colours of the blanket you are crocheting, they go so well together and are all lovely earthy colours. It looks lovely already.
May you and Gordon have a Wonderful and Very Happy 2017 and we will meet up even if it is for coffee in some caff on the motorway. Thanks for all your love and support over this past year.
Hugs, Neet 12 xxx

Hiya Jan, lovely photo of you and Gordon. You must be getting a little excited about moving, along with the trepidation too. I know you both will throw yourselves into it, and be very happy there. And you know lots of us will be coming to visit. :) Looking forward to the first Welsh post. :) Love and hugs and Happy New Year to you all,Shaz XXXXXX

Happy WOYWW and Happy New Year for Sunday. Wales is not at all scary! Do you speak any Welsh? I have tried to learn before, but didn't get far. Thinking of doing a bit more in the coming months. I love the colours of yarn you are using for that blanket. Ali x #14

A lovely photo of you and hubs - and what a creative way to display 2017! Wishing you all the very best in your new home, Jan! I know a house move can be a bit scary and overwhelming, but it can also be the beginning of something new and exciting! Happy New Year! zsuzsa #15

Like the sound of your online crafting mags, I gave up my subscriptions as living abroad and having a post office box I didn't always receive them. If postie put them in the wrong box I expect the owner of such just took them to read. Thinking of you moving to your new abode exciting and frightening at the same time. Hey you will have a new craft room and outlook while crafting. Good luck to you both and all the best for 2017.

Readly sound like something to be explored, thanks for sharing. Nothing like a good challenge to start the year and you're halfway there as I presume you still have at least half your belongings packed up.
Have a happy WOYWW, my 'boys' are napping so I have managed to get on the laptop to wish you a happy New year.

Hi lovely lady. Glad you had a lovely time. I think we probably all raise a toast to those no longer enjoying the day with us. Onwards and upwards now to a fabulous new Welsh adventure together. You'll soon have it like home and it won't be long before we are beating a path to your door!!!! It's a beautiful photo of you both. Raising a glass for a brilliant 2017 for you.

Your yarn looks lovely - love the colours!

A new move is exciting, stressful and unnerving too. Daughter will be moving to another state next week where she will start a new job. She knows absolutely nobody. She's excited yet nervous. I'm just trying to hold it together - I'll miss her terribly. We are packing up her stuff next week and driving her out there (over 9hr drive). Sigh.

Happy New Year and good luck with the move. It will be great! Wales is a beautiful country. Lots of new things to see and places to explore - that's what I keep telling myself about daughter's move!

Hi Jan, I think Christmas is a time when you often think about those you've lost and the older you get the more you have to think about so I agree Christmas is mixed with happy and sad thoughts. Thanks for the visit to mine and have a great woyww, Angela x 6
