WOYWW 171

TODAY I DON'T FEEL LIKE DOING ANYTHING,
I JUST WANNA LAY IN MY BED...

My desk is still the dining room table this week...you know what I mean! Work has seriously interfered with my life in general, especially the crafting side! Having said that, I am enjoying being back at school, working with my mate Sue and the little kiddlywinks again :D
So, crafting has been reduced to doing what I can while in the midst of other jobs...isn't it amazing how quickly dinner can burn??.........cough.....

Under construction is a set of jewellery for a friend..she plucked the idea out of a book. It's pretty - I'm enjoying doing something delicate. Cos that is one thing I ain't!!

I bought these sweet beads in C&H Fabrics in Winchester, when we dropped in on Janet a couple of weeks back...

Used some of 'em in this necklace that's going to be a prezzy for a little girl, with a matching bracelet. I love the summery, shimmery colours!

Whereas the next two pics remind me of Jelly Beans and Haribo sweets...can you tell I'm on a diet???

Sigh.....  :D
These are presents for slightly more mature ladies...I can do that one! Easily, in fact!!
I am really enjoying the beadwork but will be concentrating on cutting out fabrics now as a couple of requests have come in.

And finally...Mr LLJ, G3 and myself had a lovely day out on Saturday..a wander around Devizes, followed by a picnic up on top of the Marlborough Downs under a blue sky, followed by a stroll up to Adam's Grave...
Looking east towards where we live...there were three beacons lit along here on the Queen's Jubilee..it was magical. Talking of which - here's the remains of a crop circle in a wheat field. The area is renowned for the crop circles that appear every year. There have been some interesting designs this year, including one that seemed to refer to the Mayan prediction that the world is going to end in December!  Better not make too many Christmas stockings then... :)
Here's G3 and me standing on Adam's Grave, a Neolithic Long Barrow. There was a 360 degree panorama from the top..we felt as if we were standing on the top of the world. It was quite wonderful. Whoever was buried in there must have been a real VIP in their time! Talk about surveying your domain...
And all we could hear were skylarks singing... fabulous!

Ok, so just to bring back to being all about me - try to remember the impact of your working on my life!! I don't know who the song is by this week, first time for me, I must be getting overly mature in the remembering department. Your weekend looks wonderful, look at those pictures, not a pylon in sight, how marvellous. Loving the beadwork. Do you have to swallow a big lump in your throat when they ask for 'plucked form the magazine' stuff? Lord, I would!!

I am so glad it is not just me who lets dinner burn (I mean overcook). Love all your beady wonders, the pearls are all fabulous and the first necklace (top left) is quite stunning........as are your photos of your weekend. We live on the edge of the Peak District, no sea but lots of beautiful views, we are so lucky.........Happy WOYWW, Anne x #82

it is a bit like quitting smoking, you wake up in a cold sweat thinkign you had a cigarette only to ind it was a dream/nightmare,

when I eat healthily I dream of dough nuts

the sweetie jewelery is beautiful and very elegant,

love your 'views' - I think it is always helpful to get a historical and geographical checkpoint of where we fit in the world...

Loving all of the jewelry! nice to see you can adapt to different designs! it's easy to get stuck on one track, but your certainly not doing that! Great scenic shots, I think my aunt used to live near Devizes, she lived in Compton Bassett, it's many years since I have been down there though so can't remember just how close it is. :o) x April #111

What beautiful photos. My Italian student visited your area before she came to me in August. She's heavily into crop circles and lei lines and all that!

Beading? Where's all your lovely sewing gone?

Your beads are gorgeous and I love that gizmo that you put the beads on to make the necklace. I just hold the wire and end up losing half the beads on the floor but it's good exercise bending down to pick them up :) That little girls necklace is gorgeous. Your trip to the countryside looks like a fun time, lots of climbing though.
Have fun with the beads and enjoy your week.

Lovely bead creations and photo's Jan. That is a smart bit of kit to make your necklaces on, not seen one of those before.

Think you can be excused for burning the tea and if you can't, then perhaps sandwiches are the dish of the day lol

Ooh Jan, you've ventured back out into the workplace again, I read last weeks post too to see what that was about, hope it all works out for you and you can fit it all in without burning dinner too many times!! Wish I could go the other way and not have to work too many hours but that's not going to happen any time soon. Lovely beady goodness this week, very pretty necklaces. You are a bit if a magpie aren't you? Can't resist anything bright and shiny, lol! Lovely views of your area again, I've posted a few from my trip to Northern Michigan if you'd like the contrast!!

Sounds like you have got your hands full nowadays...either kiddies in school or beads at home!! You could always take lickle bead jobbies into the kitchen to work on, that way the dinner won't get burnt!
Diet??? what is that word??? Or are you getting ready for the Baileys diet next month?

I think the beading looks wonderful. You are always such a busy bee. Burnt dinner? I solve that by rarely making anything I can't begin and serve in 30 minutes :) I just don't trust myself with food on the stove and a project on my desk. I know which wins out - and so, sadly, does the family. :)

Drop by my blog and you may be lucky in my birthday blog candy draw…………whatever it turns out to be!

I have memeries if driving through Devizes at around 6.30 in the morning when I was a small child, on our way to Woolacombe in North Devon for our holidays.

I haven't burned the dinner lately but a cake was lost due to some serious blogging this week!
I love the punk and purple beads. You have made some very pretty pieces. That would be too fiddly for me. I have loads of beads because I see them and like them, but apart from making a few 'spangles' to go on my lace bobbin ends, I don't really get to use them much.

Who mentioned Haribo sweets, now I NEED some sours!!!!You look very busy with all your beading, Jan. I love them all. Trouble is if I gave in and got into it I'd never be able to give any away!!!!
Any sort of crafting is so addictive and time absorbing isn't it. Don't worry about dinner the burned bits taste better, well that's what I tell my lot!!!!
Love the photos. We have been so lucky with the sunshine at last, although Autumn arrived here today!!!
Glad the job is going well

Such pretty jewellry, and absolutely GORGEOUS photos, thank you so much for sharing them!

Okay, here's the viola story, made somewhat short. Found it at a garage sale two summers ago, and the daughter, who basically collects instruments, "had" to have it. And for $35 dollars--for viola, case, and bow--well, yes, thank you.

And now she's taking an intermediate strings ensemble class. At the same time (different room) is a beginners string class.

So, I'm in it.

With a bunch of little kids. It's pretty hilarious.

Never would have thought a viola would go with Sex Pistols, that must have been a sight and sound, wow! Oh my, I used to love the Sex Pistols, now you have me singing! Very loudly. Kind of yelling. Well, you know . . .

Happy WOYWW, and thank you for stopping by!

Whata fantastic post love the scenic tour, at first I thought you were showing me the beach but then I realised doh that they were wheat fields. It is such a pitty you couldn't fly and take an ariel shot of the crop circle, my daughter and I are facinated by them.

Lovely jewellery making too.

Love the pictures of your day out - looks so peaceful and the weather looks good too.

Your beading - well, you say you haven't had a lot of time since returning to the kiddiewinks at school - well, if this is a result of ;not much time I will retire from crafting. You have done so much! So much lovely work too!

Keep crafting - Hugs, Neet 17 xx

Hi Jan thanks for popping to see me. I don't know how anyone fit craft round a job! I love the colours of the pearls on the necklace you are working on. Your day out looks idyllic - blue skies and no one about - except the kind person who took the wonderful photo of you on top of the hill! Happy WOYWW to you from Helen 5

Real life has been incredibly in the way of crafting lately. It could almost drive one to drink. Copiously. I'm loving your bead work and jewelry making. My favorite is the multicolor necklace. Great scenery! So much wide open space! We're rather boxed in by mountains here, good for agoraphobics.

Hi there LLJ,

There's going to be squeaks of joy coming from one little girl! What a cute set. The "mature" ones are nicely done too! After giving Di the necklace I thought about digging out my beads again. I've kept a small supply - so we'll see.

Thanks for visiting me already. I'm slowly getting around this week.

Wow Jan! Those beaded beauties are incredible! I know my own princess would love that shimmery set and I am very partial to that "mature" set. If I am slim enough to need a new dress for the Christmas season I shall know where to come instead of walking the streets looking for just the right thing. xx

Hi Jan

Lovely bead work going on there. There's a fabulous shop just selling beads here in Santa Fe - I watched a woman buy almost $800 worth the other day for her jewellery making business
.
Sheesh - needed a lie-down after :) And that was me, not her!!
