WOYWW 162

Diamonds are forever,
They are all I need to please me,
They can stimulate and tease me,
They won't leave in the night,
I've no fear that they might desert me.

(You'll understand the reason for this later in the post.....which is quite long today, sorry Julia!)
Straight on with the desk this week..
A little bit of bunting for a very special WOYWW baby :D  Hope you and your little Ruby like it, Sarah!  It's fun making pink things - I always hated the colour when I was younger. Being a tomboy, I was against all things girly...but do you know what, I've grown into it and possess...shock horror...items of clothing and jewellery in that rosy hue!! Watch this space for more revelations *grin*

Do you remember a couple of weeks back, I made a charm for my mate's iPad cover.  Well.....you can tell what's coming here, can't you???....my other friend Kate kidnapped me and forced to enter Hobbycraft...where she inveigled me into buying some basic tools and beading accoutrements. She's done a lot of beading herself so taught me a few moves.  Oh dearie, dearie me. This could be the beginning of a seriously bad obsession....

Oops, did I really get all that? But I already had the red velvet fabric at home....Here are some of Kate's creations..

She is famed for her dangly earrings!! They always look really good on her.
Some of my new beads and my first attempt at earrings...
By now, the red fabric was hurting my eyes!! So I found some black..oh, that's better! You can see the gorgeous Union Jack tin that Julia bought me in which I'm going to keep my tools etc. The little storage box will fit in as well, so that's handy. I've been experimenting with a handbag charm and a new pair of red danglies to wear out when I'm playing with my brass band (nothing too OTT for that!.) Then I really got the bit between my teeth...
I love the colours in these different beads. Now comes the hard part, I shall have to try to part with some, I can't wear/use them all!! When's the next fair...?!

I had another fabulous ATC arrive this week, it's a 3 in 1 bit of gorgeousness, courtesy of Nerllybird (Helen S).
I love the sewing theme, the heart, the initial and then , inside....
A sentiment with which I entirely agree!! Just look at all the detail... just awesome. Thank you, Helen, I love it!

Finally (!!) after last week's modelling of a very flowery apron, to redress the balance, I thought I'd leave you with G3 on the evening of his Prom.
That's more like it, he says!!

Have a great week- see you soon......

What a fantastic peep this week. You've got some lovely things made Jan and sent to you as well. My hands are to big and clumsy for bead work so I love to see the work of others. Well done.

Happy WOYWW Jan, think l'm under you so to speak over on Julia's blog :)

Great sneek, thanks. Never tried beading but your creations are lovely.

That's a very smart prom goer, he looks very MIB! My eldest will be attending his next year, only seems like yesterday he was finding his legs and teething!

Take care, hugs Rach xx

ah you diamond dog you... if you get your beads online you will fidn them at half the price of hobby craft - your earrings are gorgeous and will sell like hotcakes - G3 is stunningly handsome - most certainly he will arrive home with a beauty draped upon his arm...

I loved Cardarians bunting - we sat beneath it everyday and twas as if all woywwers were with us....I'm sure Sarah and Ruby will love theirs too.

Haha, love the prom photo, very Blues Brothers! And your photo of the ATC has come out rather better than mine. How exciting to have a new hobby - at least beady things are mostly on the small side, and probably a good complement to all the sewing stuff! x

Oh, how handsome he looked! I dropped Livvy off at the Shak before all the Yr 11s turned up last week, and a friend brought her back home so we missed the whole shebang - hope he had a good time.

Welcome to the sucking-in world of Beadcraft... now it's got you, it ain't ever gonna let go........ Mwahahahahahaha

Great prom photo! Love the ear rings, but I am so NOT going to start beading.. can you imagine... definitely no time or space for beading in my world.... lol!
Happy WOYWW, Helen 16.

I'm not sure if I should congratulate you on finding a new craft that you love or commiserate with you! I've recently been using fewer and fewer things, but as soon as I have a permanent home and unpack everything... Well, you can image.

Happy WOYWW and thank you for stopping by.

These lovely pink 'Ruby' flags are beautiful. They are very girly and yes... I hate pink too when I was younger. And look at me now... all sorts of pink clothing, LOL. And a new craft? It's always great to start something new. Hope you enjoy and look forward to see the results. Have a happy WOYWW. Bye, Franka #44

Brilliant photo of G3. Spotted the bunting in Sarah's post and thought how gorgeous it was. Your beading is gorgeous and the only problem will be finding time to do all the stuff we love. Nothing wrong with a rose hue .... I particularly like it in a long stemmed glass.

Wow! loving the new beady creations, you really are on a slippery slope with that one though :o) At least you will be able to sell some at the fairs you go to! I'm the same with pink, always hated it, I still don't wear it, it's just not my colour but many of my cards feature pink in a BIG way! Just can't seem to get away from it :o). G3 looked very dapper for his prom! x April #86

ooooh beads...you really are starting on the slippery slope to obsession...that little tin (lovely as it is) won't be much use soon! It'll be a box, then a crate, then some drawers...it goes on! Good Luck! xxxxx Trish #68

You are all over Blogland today, Jan. I saw you at Sarah's earlier and then at Zoe's. I'm sure you'll pop up somewhere else before I've finished.
Anyway, just taking a break between finishing pink incing and changing to orange!!!! This cake reminds me of you, bright, breezy and always cheerful.
I laughed out loud when I read your comment. You didn't resist for long, although I'm not surprised, all that lovliness to be found in the bead section of the shops. I have been tempted more than once but I CAN'T start anymore crafts!!!! Love all your makes. I used to love dangly earrings and had loads but I can't wear earrings anymore which is a real shame. Bet you look a real bobby dazzler in them, just like your very handsome son, and before you say it, yes I know he's not wearing dangling earrings but he looks very handsome for his prom night!! How proud you must be.
Have a great week.

I always love your posts, Jan, but this one was a gem (sorry for the pun!) - your beading and jewellery are fabulous. We've all got friends like that, I think, who "persuade" us to buy things and we get hooked! I've got a friend that when we used to shop together and I was saying "Shall I get this?" would say in a most persuasive voice, "Why not..." and I was hooked!!

Nerlybird's 3-in-1 ATC is absolutely stunning. Another little treasure! When I think about the amount of talent amongst us in the WOYWW family, it simply blows my mind.

As for the cool dude at the end of your post, what can one say...

Happy WOYWW,

P.S. Got so carried away by your post that I forgot to say thanks for visiting mine and leaving a nice comment! Glad you like the Perfect Pearls. I wonder if Postie has delivered your ATC from me yet? I'm hoping for great things from Shoshi's Blog Shop. I must be a glutton for punishment as far as craft fairs go, because I've just booked a table for another one in November - a pre-Christmas one - I think I'll demo some Christmas decs this time! As you say, you don't sell much but the interraction with people is fun, and if demo-ing, you end up producing some stuff so it's not a complete waste of time!

Oo la lah Jan. I know what you mean about pink! Hated it too - much preferred purple. Still prefer purple but will stretch to pink when I am either desperate or teasing Di (think pink chair!). LOL!
The real me is still here. I just like to let my other Gemini side out now and again! Hee Hee! Do I need to wear my WOYWW badge on one boob and a Hettie badge on the other when we meet?

Elizabeth said...

Oh, oh, Jan, I can see where all your pocket-money is going to be spent from now on ... fabulous!

Ruby's baby bunting is lovely ... I'm sure Sarah will love it.

Doesn't G3 look incredibly handsome and the suave sophisticate ... yep, he cleans up very nicely :))

About those inks, I didn't succumb whilst in Shopkeeper Gal's, no, I spent a fortune on other goodies, but Di, who is very observant and noticed me toying with them, sent them to me as a surprise ... what a friend she is!

The feet ... what can I say, still can't get my grockles or shoes on but can manage to get trainers on as long as I loosen the laces! I've been slopping around in slippers for days now, but that's an improvement on not walking at all :))

That huge gap at the end of your post ... I do the same thing quite often ... you have a number of line spaces there you just don't need. You can edit and delete ... wouldn't like to tell you the number of times I've had to do that :)

Happy WOYWW, Elizabeth x #23

Didn’t we tell you that you were on the top of a long slippery slope were beads are concerned Jan, I knew it wouldn’t be long before you were hooked. Still, at least it’s another string to your bow when it comes to your craft shows and it’s something that can be done while sitting in front of the TV of an evening.

Loving G3’s latest photo, I can understand why he feels happier about that one, Lol.

Happy Crafting!

Love the look on your model's face-vilified at last! Right there is why I refuse to try new crafts. I think they would be fun, I think I might like them, I think I have too much card making stuff to change streams now! Because of course, once you start that you have to jump in with both feet and stock up on supplies! I saw Ruby's sweet little bunting. I got to see it at it's new home. Happy beading!

I stopped by Sarah's earlier and saw Ruby's banner (bunting). WOW on the creativity and your earrings. I don't wear jewelry, but I sure like what you have made. And you got plenty of awesome tools to do it with, too. Like I always say, you can't go wrong buying good tools. Happy WOYWW from # 1.

Hi Jan, again. Two visits this week as you asked about my polymer flower bracelet. No, it wasn't hard to make but then anything is easy when you know how (apart from brain surgery). You do need a pasta-maker to roll out the clay very thinly before colouring and baking and then you use an ordinary paper punch to push out the flower shapes, pierce a hole in them and Bob's your uncle. Bet you end up having a go yourself.
