Look What Turned Up!

FORGOTTEN FABRIC......

Not all my fabrics are laid out beautifully on the bed - here's my shameful secret... my nether regions, so to speak (the boxes are under my desk, what did you think I meant??).
Shoved into these plastic crates are the materials that I used last year and got a bit bored with.

I had a rush of blood to the head and decided to tidy them up.  Look what I found...

Aren't they lovely?  I'd completely forgotten about them.  And now I can have fun deciding what to make - yay!! Spotty, dotty bags and flowery aprons and.....hmmm, not sure about the grey print. There's not enough for an apron and the pattern's too big for a doorstop.  Place mats or a table jogger (it's not long enough to be called a runner!).  All suggestions welcome :) xx
Here's my retro tote bag, not my best but it's bright and breezy and it'll be fine for shopping!  I didn't have enough spotty material for the whole lining, so I made a pocket for the interior: one smaller section for pens/sunglasses/phone etc and one larger for other stuff!  Think I prefer the interior to the exterior - ah well, not all my experiments are successful.

Ron, my ginger cat, was most indignant that Harry got all the kudos last week - so here he is showing that 'anything you can do, I can do better!'  Poor Harry's been relegated to a seed tray, fortunately for me, an empty one!! Both of them look really hacked off - perhaps they're fed up with being faced with the paparazzi..er...paparazzo...or is it paparazza for a female snapper??  Ah well, whatever it is, they'll be demanding appearance fees from now on :D

Hope your week is a happy and productive one!

I love all that fabric. It looks like it's designer fabric, too, not the cheap stuff from JoAnns here in the states. It all looks so yummy.

Gotta admit, both Ron and Harry have very determined looks on their faces. They are both trying to be the one to watch. Love it. Have a great WOYWW.

You really do like fabric, don't you!! I love those green/gray pieces, and the idea of a jogger for the table tickled me!

Haha, I LOVE the places cats choose to sit in. Mine has spent the last few nights sleeping on top of a hat which I took out of the wardrobe when I was looking for something. Maybe we should start a 'What Your Cat's On' feature....I like your bag, outside as well as inside, I think that fabric is gorgous, love the colours.

Love your other "puddy tat" and his colouring goes well with the green container.
Gorgeous bag - I love that 'bubble' material at the bottom. Thanks for sharing - Hugs, Neet x #3

Of course the ginger cat had to be Ron. Do you have Hermione too?
Loving those fabrics, especially the flowery one top right :o)

that bag is fab, but I like the outside not just the inside. The grey fabric could be used for some detail like a big pocket on an apron, or same sort of thing you did with the bag, or a table centre piece??
Love the cats

Good lord woman, your nethers are on show!! That retro fabric with the limes and greens and the spotty and gingham that matches...do nothing with them until I've rung you. Please!!

Interesting fabric! Your cats do look solemn and serious. Oh well, that's the price of fame....

All stored up in boxes and you're ashamed!!!!!????? That is almost OCD here. Swoon - I just love fabrics full stop and those are some scrummy yummy prints - I think they would make some fabulous journal covers...

They better not be giving that look to the paparazza. LoL She's the one feeding them is she not? Love the fabrics they are so bright and summery. :) YOu can do patchwork if you have bits and pieces. Have fun with whatever you end up doing.

Working with fabric feels the same as working with paper. Only your storage is more massive. I like your bags. Wen I have some scraps of fabric I use them to make fabric books. Maybe you'll find an idea at my blog in the older post.
Have a nice WOYWW.
Bye, Franka

Some amazing fabrics there and they'd make great HangAbouts. Love your cats. I mss mine so much but as we are often away it wouldn't be fair to get any more. We used to have a big male tabby and a ginger female (quite rare) and they each lived to over 20.
Love JoZarty x
Thanks for calling in on me.

I am glad it is not just me with oooodles of fabric hidden in the nether regions!!! LOL!!!! I am trying not to let my scrapping stuff get the same way but sometimes you have to have fabric just to stroke and put back because you can't put the scissors (or rotary cutter) through them!!

The cats are hilarious. Maybe next week my trusty dog Ginger will make an appearance as she's always at my feet on her blanket. I have a few of those "spots" under my tables/desk. Sadly no fun stash is there, just projects that I should really get around to!

That grey and lime fabric is, well, fab. I've got a real thing for grey just lately. The first thing I thought was a cushion cover but then I realised its quite kitchen themed so I started thinking maybe a fabric/canvas/wall hanging kind of thing or maybe, as the motifs r so big, some good old fashioned applique on a plainer background/apron/runner??? Oh, I can picture it now, all those bottles in a row like they're sitting on a shelf... I'm going over here to wish I could sew!

ah...nether regions. First time I heard that term was on Firefly. Loved that show and was sorry when it left. Waiting on the next installment of Torchwood! Love that show. Back to now...I love shopping at the okienurse store cause I find all sorts of things I love. I am always finding stuff I forgot I had already bought. I think the grey clothe would make another cute bag with that green. Have a great day. vickie

Thats what I love about having a bit of a tidy- finding forgotten treasures! I don't like the actual tidying, tho, lol. Your pusscats are gorgeous, btw. Thanks for visiting me,Shaz

What a joy to discover forgotten stash. Just like shopping all over again !

Poor Ron getting overshadowed by Harry who is now relegated to the seed tray. Just desserts !

My poor ginger tom is constantly put in the shade by his hooligan housemate, but he knows he still gets lots of cuddles when she's not looking.
