 OOPS, I DID IT AGAIN...

How are you all today? I hope that your crafting is going well with the minimum of cussing *grin*  It was lovely to catch up on No 750 last week though I didn't manage everyone's desks, sorry. Another week of carlessness meant that we didn't venture far, combined with some more bad weather (though we got off lightly compared to many) it all adds up to a full sewing week.

I put on my Big Girl Pants and ventured to the Dark Side of my stash and found:

Christmas!! There wasn't a huge amount of any of the pieces so I had fun working out what could be made.

I thought I'd go green and make resusable gift bags - if they don't sell at the craft fair (this Sunday) then we'll use them for our presents!

I also found the remains of this:

I made some more turban twist headbands with it and was wondering about small cross body bags...mmm, not sure.

Then I got sidetracked by a YouTube tutorial and had a go at this:

A cover for a carrot maybe? Note I'm using pins again, for the second week running, must be a record ;-)

I'm not sure at this moment whether the experiment is working or not!! I'll let you know next week.

I succumbed to a bit more fabric from PoundFabrics after getting an email...

The daisies and print on top right were £2 a metre for cotton fabric, bargain! Hearts always go down well. And I got a couple more prints, a bit less in your face maybe:

But I do try to appeal to all tastes - again these were very cheap. I've got some more items to make for the fair first but am certain that these beauties will be chopped up fairly soon. Laura and I want to crack the £5k fundraising goal by the New Year!

We got the car back yesterday, woohoo, so it's off into the hills for us, lol!

Have a great week xxxxx

Phew - being car-less is no fun! All those fabrics! Even the scary Xmas ones are nice (well not mad keen on the splotchy fish scale one, if I'm honest :) ) But no clue on the odd carrot cover. Wrong proportions for a Santa hat, the red-tree fabric hints at an Xmas related item sooo.. candy cane? No idea really, but I'm sure we will find out one day!

Getting visits in early on DDs Birthday!

LOL you were quick off the mark this morning!! Yes it is Christmas, lovely fabrics and ideas - ou are doing so well with your fundraising!! The re-usable gift bag idea is a good one but we are foregoing presents this year which personally I find a huge relief. I shall treat myself to something nice though!! Whatever are you trying out - is it a hat? Though it looks more HP than Santa's helper at the mo!! Can't wit to see, I'm sure it will be wonderful!! Carlessness isn't the issue here it must be for you but hope it's sorted now. But a great plus side - more sewing time!! Have a lovely week!! Love n hugs, Cindyxx #9

Am sure gift bags will sell but a good idea to use them yourself if not.
Love the "town" fabric with all the activity and the trees on. Very bright and eye catching.Seeing all the Christmas fabric reminds me of Jo who used to make lots of quirky things at Christmas.
Not a clue what that latest thing is you are trying to make, don't believe it is for a carrot unless they grow giant ones in Wales. Will wait and see but keep looking and wondering.
Hugs, Neet xx 1
Glad you got your car back, that was a long time.

Really glad you’ve got the car back Jan…we do take these things for granted when they’re working don’t we?
I love all the wonderful fabrics today…you always choose well.

Beautiful fabrics. I am glad you got the car back and some freedom with it. I am thinking that you are either making a Christmas tree or a Christmassy hat for Harry Potter! Happy WOYWW. Have a great week. Angela #15

Good news about the car, bet you've done a visit involving a good walk! Weather is all over the place so it's great that you're in a position to choose a good day when it happens for a trip out! Omigosh, the 'dark side' of your fabric stash made me laugh, I wasn't expecting you to say Christmas😂! A 5k fundraising target is phenomenal, go you. Are you making elephant trunk warmers? Gnome hats? I dunno, but even the pins made me smile!

Your post is my idea of fabric heaven - I love all that gorgeous crafiness. Great news on the car. Mine goes in for service next week. Fingers crossed! I hope you had a good outing to the hills. I misread your first bit as a "careless" week and wondered what you had done!!! xx Jo

Not sure I have any big girl pants, well not before the end of November at least! Love the idea of reusable bag for presents. We are tending to reuse Amazon fabric ones these days. As for the pins, I use them mostly but have seen the little clip things on Facebook memes/reels and have popped them on my wish list. They seem quite cool especially for small items. Love the hearts fabric. Glad you got the car back at last, enjoy your trips out. Hugs BJ#13 late as usual!

Dear Jan!
We celebrated our national holiday today. With little bit sun and rain.
Yes, crafting is ok. Nearly without cussing. I crocheted a maple leaf.
And a pumpkin. Pattern from pinterest and "Crazy Patterns".
Christmas time is comming! I love your fabrics.
Especially the ginger bread man.
Could it be a little red hat for a Christmas elves?
I hope, you and Laura crack the fundraising goal!

All beautiful fabrics. Reminds me of when I was in high school and sewed a lot, I belonged to a fabric club that would send fabrics every month, I think randomly so you didn't know what you were getting. I remember being so excited to get the box, the smell of the fabrics, and the delight in what I received! Your posts always make me want to start sewing again! I don't know what that orange thing is that you are sewing, but I'm guessing a gnome hat? Thanks for your visit, have a great week, Lindart #18

Glad the car is back (its such a pain when they need fixing). Are you making a red gnome? Hope the fair went ok today? Fingers crossed as your fund raising is amazing.
Thanks for visiting my desk already

Hey Jan.
Glad the car is back in your possession. Lovely fabrics. Sorry, except for the Christmas cards I've made all year, I can't get into the seasonal stuff just yet. Though I have already planned my valances for the office. I'll show off part of the plan tomorrow.
Coming in under the wire... Creative Blessings! ~Kelly #16
