IF A PICTURE PAINTS A THOUSAND WORDS..
It's going to be a short and sweet post today as I don't have a huge amount to share! I ran a lovely craft group on Monday and completely forgot to take pics - doh!
The theme was Watercolour Doodling - nothing was intended to be 'High Art'! I hadn't painted for a while either so checked some videos out:
Just mucking around having fun...
This poppy field was from a Karen Rice tutorial, she was very good with the step by step approach - there's a tiny bit more to do but I think that'll be enough.
And this big envelope from Diana Taylor arrived, she'd been having a clear out and asked if I wanted any die cuts....
Wow! Aren't they fab? These will give me lots of pleasure in the craft sessions - one question, can you colour the die cuts and if so, what medium is best to use? I'm guessing not watercolour.
But the best reason for not being in the JanCave is:
Son No 1! (wearing a t shirt gifted to him by our very own LynneCrafts) Our cribbage tournament continues, we take no prisoners lol
I may be late visiting again as am out this morning then at the RNLI shop this afternoon. I will catch up with you though!
Have a great week! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Oh Jan, I adore your doodles. They are fabulous. I love the flowers you drew and those poppies are amazing.
I use Staz-on reinkers and 91% isopropyl alcohol to color my gifted die cuts. I also have spritzed a few with my handmade shimmering mists.
How nice to have Number 1 son home. I need that tee, too. Happy WOYWW from # 5.
the paintings look great, I wish I could paint or draw. I did watch that Jo Rice tutorial. I've never played cribbage, but have fun with the tournament! Happy WOYWW Helen #1
I colour die cuts with all sorts Jan - watercolour brush pens, ProMarkers etc. Have fun while #1 son is home. Hope the vertigo is done with. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #8
Hi Jan, Wgat a lovely idea to host your own craft workshop. Your watercolour doodles are beautiful. I struggle to paint the light shining through petals. How lovely to have O home. He looks great in his Wiley Coyote t shirt. Enjoy your cribbage tournament!
Take care and happy WOYWW

Your poppy painting is beautiful - always make me smile. Enjoy your time with No1 son - great photo. x x Jo
Like Sarah, I use all sorts to odour die cuts. Have fun. Always fab having sons home - enjoy! Anne x 13
Great collection of die cuts, I wonder why Diane is going to use them? we haven't seen her around for a while. Love your artwork too. Have fun with son no.1 at home and a great woyww too. Hugs, Angela x15x
Isn't it funny how the words of a song can trigger such memories . . . Telly Savalas sang this around the time my daughter died and it helped so much to cry . . .
but onto to happier things . . .
what a super photo of the engineer, he looks great fun to have around.
Enjoy today, busy, busy is what it is all about.
Take care

Cribbage! Oh my. I used to play bu it's been so long I suspect I forgot all the rules. He looks happy to be playing. The poppies are very pretty and lucky the group to have you to guide them.
Working back from the end this week - not really late :D
Happy sunny WOYWW!

Love your poppy painting. I can’t get my watercolours out until I have used at least half, no a third or possible a quarter of my 12 x 12 🙈. Lovely diecuts, have fun with them. Happy WOYWW Angela #3
Aw, that lovely smiley pic of Gordon’s mini me! How lovely to have him home.
Bet the craft group was fun, I
Love your watercolour works, bet you could make anyone of us feel as if we could do it half as well. It’s the teacher in you.
We’re in the Spanish sun this week and the worst thing so far has been the incredibly poor provision of internet at this hotel place. You can imagine then, that we are having a fab time without work emails!! Bit frustrating last night trying to post, but it’s just the once! Meanwhile, swoon over Diana’s lovely die cut generosity, even the shapes she chooses are all mega artful aren’t they! If they’re card, colour them how you like, they’ll withstand a bit of a watercolour wash. No doubt you will make them look great.
I'm running very late today but at least I've made it :-)
The painting is really gorgeous Jan...you're so talented. Number 1 son is looking good in his t shirt :-)
Hugs,

Good morning, Jan!
The watercolor poppies are fab! As to coloring the dies, I suggest alcohol markers or tombos. You can also give them a spritz with either dye-based or alcohol inks. Just play! It's only paper. ;-) Creative Blessings & hugs! ~ Kelly #19
Love this post, as I was just - like yesterday - thinking of getting out my watercolor papers and paints, and just playing! That is, when my time frees up a bit.
We have rainy days on the way, so that will keep me outta the gardens, so maybe soon. Thank you for the inspiration!
Hugs BJ#6Oh my goodness, got a bit involved with the end of the acrylics course and seem to have signed up for a watercolour one too (wed-fri) and what with the heat and not sleeping even worse that usual, I'm only just emerging form all the stuff and the dust is settling.
Defo #1 reason to be AWOL, seeing mine towards the end of the month when he comes home for his dental appointment and car MOT! Love the poppy field watercolour will have to look that one up. So wish I could have come to your craft group, sounds wonderful.
Hugs BJ#6
Oh well done with the craft group Jan, bet you are a natural. Bet it's great to have number 1 son around - I'm looking forward to some good family time next week! Sorry I'm so late, been working backwards as well this week. Sorry I'm so late, have a good week, love n hugs Cindy xx
Dear Jan!
