WE'LL KEEP A WELCOME IN THE HILLSIDES,
WE'LL KEEP A WELCOME IN THE VALES
I have to start with an apology for not getting round and returning comments last week, we were away helping our son to move flats and life was quite busy. We did manage to call in on Julia on the way home though, lovely to see my BFF and give her a huge hug in these sad times for the family. It wasn't long enough, that's for sure.
A few projects have sprung up in our village so that's what my crafting has involved the past couple of days:
Seeing what fabric I had in the stash to make some Jubilee bunting......
I hadn't put anything in the journal for a while, so did a daffodil for St David's Day and copied an image of an angel I found online:
Poor Ukraine, we need to stand strongly with them.
Talking about St David's Day, G found this in the old photos:
Rather apt!
But the weirdest was this:
Brilliant but completely bonkers....I mean, why? It reminds me of some of the cards that Mary Anne and Neet do. There's got to be a story behind it but goodness knows what......
Have a good crafting week everyone and I promise to do better with the visiting today xxx

Are you trying to say that MA and I are bonkers? Great photo - was that scratched on the photo (the word) or what? Love the daffy pickers and I love your tribute to Ukraine. Well done you on the donations and the ribbons are a lovely idea. Bet they are sellers.
So glad you got to hug your bff in her time of needing a shoulder and hug. It's times like this that friendship comes into its own.
Hugs, Neet xx
The Ukraine lapel ribbons are such a good idea Jan. Definitely a weird plate this week - maybe a Halloween image. The daffodils certainly fit the bill this week. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #3
I am glad you got to pop in to see Julia on your way home last week. the news from Ukraine is so scary but it is good to see communities trying to help where they can. Take care and happy WOYWW Helen #2
Hi Jan, Those fabrics will make great bunting for the Jubilee.
How much are the lapel ribbons with postage?
Lovely paintings.
First thing I thought of when I saw that photograph was migraines.
Happy WOYWW
Sue
Hope you had a good St David's day and that your daffs and leeks are perky! Well done on your efforts to support Ukraine - it just defies belief that anyone could instigate such horror on their own friends, neighbours and families in this day and age. I love the ribbon pins. xx Jo
Sadness and laughter all at once - sums up a lot of the WOYWW weeks, doesn't it? That last photo slays me and it would be amazing to know the story behind it. I think your lapel pins are fab and as I am too far away to pop in to buy one I may have to copy the idea and do one for myself, even if no one sees it (cause I am still pretty much hiding at home) to show support. I love your watercolour as well, and we have daffs in the yard now, so hopefully spring is on the way.
We need some light in the world right now. WOYWW is a bit of that every week.
Wishing peace for WOYWW and every other day!

Hi Jan, so glad you got to see Julia on your way home. Your Ukraine collection and ribbons are wonderful. I’d happily buy a pair if you have enough. Let me know how much.
I love your angel painting.
Those photos are weird. I thought the kids looked guilty as if they’d been picking daffs where they shouldn’t. The last one is just odd.
Take care

Happy WOYWW. Happy Belated St Davids Day. We forgot to have Welsh Cakes, but I did some pancakes in the evening - so that is one tradition followed. The wild daffodils are coming up in our hedges, along with snowdrops. I am looking forward to better weather and then I will go out to pick some. My sister gave me a lovely jug with daffodils on, and I use it every spring to create a display in our kitchen. Ali x #17
Your angel is beautiful Jan and so touching at this time, as are the Ukraine ribbons - what a fantastic idea, I'm sure they'll be very popular. The photos are fascinating - I love the children with the daffs, I'd love to know what that was all about and the 'daggers' photo is just weird! Looks like someone has really cheesed her off.
Hope you have a good week,
Hugs, Diana xx #16
I think the lapel pins are a stroke of brilliance myself, no better way to show solidarity, I’m sure they’ll be OK! It was just lovely to see you at the weekend, my tulips are wonderful and keeping company while I make lists and do paperwork. I love your artwork for Ukraine’, and I agree. I’m at a loss as to words really. I took some jumpers and duvets etc over to a collection point yesterday…just left me feeling useless to be honest. Hope O is feeeling better and slightly more settled, your hard work is therefore rewarded! 😘
Love the angel for Ukraine and the ribbons are a nice thought too - this whole thing just hits too close to home and living in Europe feels unsafe these days. Total madness! Love the vintage group photo - it would be so interesting to find out who those people were and how their lives spanned out. The last photo baffles me! Were the graphics added at the same time as the photo was taken or much later, I wonder? Hmm, very intriguing! Thanks so much for your visit! Enjoy your week! xx zsuzsa #14
Dear Jan!
We are so sad too about what happens in the Ukraine.
You did so well with this angel and the lapel ribbons.
Your angel is marvelous.
Thank you for the black and white photo. The last one is strange...
Hugs and respect to you.
Eva from Austria
Looks like another busy week ahead. Loving the lapel ribbons and I'm sure they will go down well. That is a very strange photo at the end of your post. I really can't imagine what it means. Wishing you a very happy woyww, hugs Angela x11x
Beautiful that you got to visit with Julia, hugs I`m sure warmly welcomed Jan.
Can't wait to see your jubilee bunting ... your painting for Ukraine is so beautiful along with your ribbon idea perfect in every way and for such a good cause. Hearts go out to those going through this terrifying ordeal ... how I wish the world would learn from our past!
How gorgeous is that photograph ... beautiful.
Sending you the warmest of hugs and love Tracy #21 xxx
That end photograph is rather weird. I know Julia must have been happy to see you. Your angel is lovely. My husband made me gluten free Welsh cakes - very nice. Happy WOYWW Angela #13
Meant to say I love Clarice Clift pottery. We say the film the other day.x
HI Jan, It's nice to have projects ahead to plan for. The Ukraine ribbons are great, what a wonderful idea. I'll have to look at my stash of ribbons! I don't know what St David's Day is, but it seems to have something to do with Spring? Spring is, unfortunately, a long way off here! The lady with the daggers? I'm sure she's thinking of Putin and sending them his way. Have a great week, Lindart #23
Glad you were able to visit with Julia.
Love the ribbons, great way to show individual support. And to send clothes and such is wonderful!Love your angel.
And that last photo is really weird!
Thanks for popping by and have a wonderful week!

yes, completely bonkers, but I think most crafters have to be! I remember picking armfuls of flowers like that when I was little, but then suddenly we weren't allowed to! To this day, I don't think it really made a difference. Have a great week!Stay safe, keep on crafting and Happy WOYWW((Lyn))#19
Oh, your daffodil is so pretty, and so is your angel for Ukraine. Happy WOYWW. #25
Hi Jan, I hope your son is well settled into his new home now. How lovely that you were able to pop in to give Julia a much needed hug.
I'm thinking you'll be making quite a length of bunting for the special celebration - you could be some time up to your eyes I. Red, white & blue :)
Love the name of the group and I'm sure the ribbons for Ukraine will sell well and raise much needed funds for Ukraine. What's happening there is appalling.
I like the photos for St David's Day but agree that last one is odd.
Take and have a good week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #24
PS: Thanks for your earlier visit and comment. Alan says 'hello'. The photo of Silver was missing for a while - no idea how that happened - but I've fixed it now.
A heart warming blog post Jo, you are such a thoughtful person.
When we eventually meet up be prepared for a big hug from me
