THANK YOU VERY MUCH,
THANK YOU VERY VERY VERY MUCH...

It was very kind of you all to sympathise with me last week, I was just upset that my son couldn't come and stay for my birthday as he wasn't at all well - it's ok, he's feeling better now and I filled my time with crafting and friends! The same has happened this week:

I had an order for some more 'bra' masks, the fab material was given to me - it's great fun!

I like taking daft pics, this just amused me - a mountain range of masks as it were ;-)  I'm cutting out some more to make today as the weather's not looking great here in Wales. I did get a call from the cafe down the harbour saying they were low on glasses cases in the RNLI basket so I took a few down there, plus some little purses and masks. Any fundraising is good as the shop doesn't look as if it's going to open any time soon.

It was my birthday on 1st August and my menfolk gave me some awesome prezzies - they know me so well! As well as some Hobbycraft vouchers, I was given this, a strip of bright LED lights that you stick onto your sewing machine for extra illumination. Neat idea!

You know I'm a jigsaw fiend, well they gave me two cracking ones. The craft group (G says this reminds him of the Crops!)

and I have finished this one pretty quickly:
Inside the craft shop. There may be a theme here!! There was lots of lovely detail to enjoy and it made it a quick one to do.

I had some friends over for the first time since lockdown and they helped me celebrate the start of my final year in my 50s....

Gin with pink grapefruit tonic, really refreshing and doesn't it look pretty?!

Hope you have a great week, hopefully I'll have a bit more crafting to share next time round!

For me you can keep the gin but I do like the idea of grapefruit tonic. The jigsaws are great also like the idea of the lights for the sewing machine. Enjoy your final year of the 50's and stay healthy. Ani

Hi Jan, Happy belated birthday. You got some lovely presents. The drink looks lovely.

At least the masks don't look like knickers. I swear some of them resemble a pair of knickers:) LOL

Happy WOYWW

Hi Jan, great way to start your last year in your 50s - I did that too, and I'm still doing it :) Those masks look fab in those fun fabrics, I bet they'll sell like hotcakes. Love your jigsaws, I've not seen any like that before - good to see they've included a man in the craft group! Have a great week :) Annie C #16

Really glad you had a good birthday with lots of spoiling....it's only what you deserve. I rather like your mask pattern....might search it out and have a go at a few....a change is as good as a rest as they say.

A very happy belated birthday to you Jan!
I love the idea of the lights for your machine - do let us know how you get on with them, they sound really useful.
I'll be cranking out some masks in the next few days- not nearly as lovely as yours, though. Someone I know is making theirs with wee see-through plastic windows in them which is... Surely they get foggy with breath? They're in huge demand, anyway!

It's realle time to write your Birthday in my Birthday Calendar!! Belated wishes with thousand hugs!! ♥
I like the "Bra"-Masks. They look so nice. And give a little smile in a time needing more smiles.
Fine, that your son is getting well. There are alwaya sorrows, when a kid is ill.
Stay well and kepp on your humor, if it's possible.
Hugs from Austria, Eva

Those masks do look like mono-bras, but where would you hook them LOL? Happy belated Jan, glad your grumpiness didn't last long. Good that son's feeling better - perhaps it was best he didn't visit for your own protection. Sounds like you had a fab time with friends - both jigsaws are spot on - many happy hours to look forward to! Thanks for your visit earlier! xx zsuzsa #11

I'm so sad for you that you had a poorly son but glad he's feeling better and your friends came up trumps for you. Love your jigsaws, we only ever do them at Christmas but you like the same sort that I do.
Where do you get your fun fabric from for your masks. I am really struggling to get anything here, everywhere is running very low, even Hobbycraft had empty shelves.
Glad you are smiling again, it's not like you to be grumpy but it doesn't take much to throw us off kilter at the minute does it.
Take care and enjoy your week

I miss your birthday every year and could kick myself. Glad you had a lovely day anyway and got some lovely presents.
Like the idea of the strip of lights for the sewing machine and crafting vouchers are always a welcome gift aren't they.
Knowing how much you enjoy your jigsaws the two you are showing us are very well thought out, or maybe sought out would be better wording. What fab pictures they are. Maybe I should buy and try one one of these days.
Btw - the gin looks awfully refreshing and inviting. I like grapefruit so maybe ... when my rhubarb (new bottle) runs out.
Hugs, Neet 14 xx

Ooh Happy Birthday Jan, the lights for the machine look like such a very cool and useful idea :) the color of the drinks is so pretty.
I cannot say I have ever had gin but, you all mention it so much I just may try it one of these days. :) ~Stacy #25

So glad to hear that Owen is feeling better, relief. You gotta admit the bra shape makes sense for a mask, specially for those who find the folded ones make their glasses steam up! Stood next to a chap in the chemist on mao day who had a black bra shape one awkwardly tucked under his nose! I didn’t bother to tell him, it just makes me lose the will to live now. Those grapefruit gins look very appealing, so much better than the old pink gin sounds!

Oh my goodness what a super sewing machine tech prezzy
And the Crafty Corner puzzle to die for considering my blog name!! LOL
I've not done any puzzles lately as 1) I have none outstanding I've not done before and 2) we're trying to keep out of the front room where my son has his PC so he gets some "alone time" - his room is too small for his PC and his Dad's is in the front room too along with my trampoline etc..... The list goes on. Happy birthday for the 1st, hugs and thanks so much for visiting me each week, much appreciated BJ#12

Sending a belated Happy Birthday! Great gifts!
I've seen those LED lights, very cool!

Glad your son is feeling better and that you got some "friend" time.
Have a great week!

Glad you managed to celebrate your birthday. Funny old times and nothing as it should be but heyho - we're still here so that's all that matters. I love your bra mask mountain - lovely fabric. The pink gin looks delish - I don't mind if I do - cheers!!! xxx

Hi Jan. Sorry I missed your birthday! Looks like it was a good one though. Sorry your son was not there. I can empathise with you. I am trying to make most of the last year of my sixties :-( I feel old!
Love the lights and the jigsaws.

Belated happy birthday, Jan, and I'm glad you got such nice pressies! Those jigsaws are awesome - so appropriate and lovely, but my goodness they look difficult! I'm no good at jigsaws... They always have a huge one going on the table in the oncology dept. waiting room at the hospital and I could never do any of it. I was amused one time, going back for my 6-monthly visit, to find the same one on the go that had been the last time I was there!! Beyond impossible! Your celebratory birthday drinks do look delicious, and pretty too!

Thank you for your visit and your very kind remarks about my tiny carpets! The design on graph paper looks relatively simple, but once it is scaled down to the real thing it does look acceptable. I enjoy doing this sort of designing and adapting.

Happy WOYWW,

A belated happy birthday to you and a happy WOYWW too. I am glad your son is feeling better. Neither of the jigsaws look easy, a great theme though. Love the lights idea, I can’t decide whether to get my sewing machine looked at or get a new one. Guess I need to find out how much for someone to look at it first. Angela #24
