DOESN'T TAKE MUCH TO MAKE ME HAPPY....
Another week has flown by and what have I done with my time? That's a very good question - any suggestions on a postcard would be helpful ;-D
Remember the tagliatelle last week? Well, we've moved on to rice noodles now:
50 of them, all different colours and patterns to appeal to a wide range of ages and tastes. I had fun making these, it wasn't complicated crafting and there was a great deal of enjoyment to be had choosing the fabric combos.
Talking of lovely fabric - this was some happy mail from Sarah Brennan!! Thank you so much, I love the bright cheerful colours and will have a lot of fun thinking about some projects to use these.
The drawers I keep my haberdashery bits and bobs in needed a sort, so a couple of hours was spent playing nicely:
I know it's sad, but I really do like knowing where stuff is, I can't bear wasting time searching (ratching around, as my dear old mum used to call it!)
I've made loads of masks (not nearly as much as Annie though, lol!) but find them quite claustrophobic -the rest of the family are ok with them, it's just me being weird. Anyhow, I found a really good YouTube video for a five dart version:
The technique is very straightforward but I was just noting down some of the dimensions so I don't have to watch the tutorial again.
It just gives me a bit more room to breathe which I find more bearable so I made a couple more - the daisy print fabric is pretty, don't you think?
The only problem is:
It looks like I'm going into bra production as well, lolol!!!! I would require considerably bigger masks....just sayin' ;-)
Hope you're having a good week, thanks again to all the wonderful gals linking up from around the world on WOYWW, you really make the difference in these mad times.
Hugs to you all xxxxxxxxxx

the bags look fab and such gorgeous fabrics that Sarah sent you too, I look forward to seeing what goodies you come up with for them. Your mask-bra did make me chuckle! have a good week Helen #?
Love that fabric from Sarah. Busy girl again - you are so generous with your time and fabric, you really are a sewing angel.
Love the look of the new mask and I know where you are coming from with regards to the breathing in a mask. I am trying to wear one in the house for prolonged periods of time to see if I can get used to wearing them in readiness for a stay in hospital.
Still not got ours from Canada and now we have more on order - I made four and we bought four and I had one gifted so it is like a mask shop here and I still intend to make another I found a pattern for.
Hugs, Neet xxx
It's a good job I was alone in the shed when I saw the 'bra' picture and comment Jan. I laughed like a hyena lol. So glad you like the fabric and look forward to seeing what goodies you make with it. I like the new mask style although I find that your fabric masks don't seem to make my glasses fog up the same way as the blue/white medical types. You have had a very productive week! Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #?
I love the masks and also find them a bit claustrophobic so might give them a try.
I don’t know how you get so much done in a week.
The bags are gorgeous, so many beautiful fabrics xx
Yes I'd be needing somewhat larger masks too... I love that daisy print. We've not been able to make our own masks as I'm still waiting for the sewing machines to be sorted so we've gone for the no-sew tatty versions!! Love that bright fabric from Sarah too - I always think pieces of fabric are wonderful because they hold such potential. No idea what number I am today as I linked up to last week by accident!
You’re a whizz on making the masks Jan. I’m wearing a very unattractive one that the wandering welder 👨🏭 has given me from his work stock. Did all my talking at the market stalls on Saturday before it became compulsory to wear them haha

Love those bags, beautiful fabrics. I made a few masks this week, glad it's done. lol
Morning Jan. Great bags - they look just wonderful. I know the charity will be so grateful for them all. And just look at you in your mask! I must say, that looks like it fits better than some of the ones I have seen out and about in Llandudno. I honestly don't know why some folks are bothering wearing some of them!
The fabric from Sarah is just stunning - glorious colours! Enjoy using it all.
Take care. God bless.

Lovely fabrics from Sarah Desker, such rich colours! also, not surprised about the masks, that five dart style is good for folk like you. You know, the weird ones. The bead bags are really scrummy aren’t they, love to see them in all their choices . Good on you mate, am very proud of your charity endeavours, as always. And I’m pleased to see that you sorted and was a good girl and played nicely with the buttons. No wonder my systems make you shiver!!
Hi Jan
You do make me laugh, that's hilarious.
I know what you mean about them being claustrophobic though. My problem is they steam my glasses up so when I'm trying to read labels on stuff I can't see, makes food shopping interesting. I've read all sorts of tips, covering your glasses with washing up liquid was interesting, steam and bubbles.....that's all I'm saying!!!!
Your bags reminded me of the pe bags we had as kids, they are so pretty.
Have a good week

well done on all those bags. How wonderful xxx Now do those masks stop your glasses from seaming up ? I have been wearing mine ( an etsy bought one) but no mater what i do, I can't see after a few mins. Ha Ha I either have to hold my breath and shop fast , or take my specs off and its pot luck what I buy !! There are worse things . You would need to make considerably bigger masks to fit my boobs !!
Have a fab week .

Thanks for the tip about the different mask pattern. I will have to check that out! Thanks for calling on my WOYWW post... Thank you for your kind comments!
I love your hard bags!
Happy WOYWW! Stay safe, keep well! Susan #15
Well I think you achieved quite a lot! But the days do seem to pass without a lot to show for them I do agree. Gprgeous fabric - can't wait to see what you do! Liking the new design. I have one of the 'duckface' ones and I do think they are more comfortable. Don't like them though, I get so hot. Fortunately I have had little call to wear one so far but be prepared!! Happy WOYWW. Stay well, stay safe, Cindy #7
Hi Jan, I'm back after a Veeeeeery long absence, enjoying catching up with you all. hehehe love your daisy print bikini :) The charity bags look fab, so colourful and fun and SO many! Happy WOYWW-day. Annie C #17
Hi Jan, the masks look good. I had to smile when you mentioned bras as I've actually seen a bra made into a mask Lol! I find the darted masks are better for me as I can slip them under my glasses and then they don't steam up so much. Have a lovely creative woyww, Angela x11x
Wow! Congrats to the 50 Charity bags!! You'r great! Nice mask, me too have the feeling to get less air under the mask. But wearing them nearly all the time in the shops, (now it's duty up to tomorrow again...), I think it's better.
Excuse my English.
Hugs from Austria, Eva
Hi Jan, Well done for doing all those bags. Fab fabric.
Your new fabric is so summery.
I don't like wearing the mask either. I feel like I am rebreathing the warm air.
Thought you'd find this funny https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sW_K3lBEC48
Happy WOYWW

I'm late in the day visiting this week but it's better than last week's effort lol.
I've spent the day replenishing my basket of face masks...but as soon as I fill them they sell so it's a bit like painting the Forth bridge :-)
I love all the gorgeous bags you've been making Jan...well done you. There really is something very therapeutic about using lovely fabrics if only making masks isn't there?
Hugs,

50 bags! WOW! Great job! Love the fabric from Sarah, so bright!
Great assortment of buttons, etc.
Beautiful mask. I get hot flashes when I wear one plus my nose runs like crazy! Needless to say the hot flashes mess with the temperature taking in some places. Your comment about the bra made me laugh!
Have a great week!

Your work is like a factory production line at times, Jan! I don't think I've ever met anyone who makes such large quantities of anything, and so efficiently too. Love the calorie-free pasta frequenting your desk these days too! The fabric Sarah sent you is absolutely gorgeous... I really can't bear the thought of wearing a mask and find them far too claustrophobic - I hate anything over my face. My clear face shield arrived today and if I've got to cover up, I shall use that. The trouble is it's got "Face Shield" written across the front of it which looks awful, so I'm thinking about adding some nice flowers or something! I shall do something to hippy it up, for sure.
Thank you for your visit and your very kind words about my tiny carpets! I am having such fun doing them. I do hope you manage to make the chia oat pudding - it's really delicious. Let me know how you get on! I buy frozen blueberries from the supermarket and always have a good stock of them. I love adding the dates and extra oats too, and the ground flax seeds. I adore this recipe and enjoy it every morning for my breakfast.
Happy WOYWW,

Hello, Jan!
Your Happy Mail fabric is gorgeous!
I'll have to look for the 5 dart pattern. My husband finds it hard to breathe with the others, too! (just add a little lace and the brassiere business will take off!)
Stay safe and Happy Wednesday!

Ooh that is pretty fabric for your masks Jan, and I did chuckle out loud when I got to the pair of them ( at work) so my work friend had to come read over my shoulder and chuckle too.
I actually found some sheer masks on etsy ( they are being billed for to sell to people whose lips need to be read) ( I am deaf) so, I bought these for hubs and he can breath through them OK.
but, its hard to say how much spit they catch being something like bridal veil sheerness.

Oh Jan you are so good making all those beads of courage bags and I think I will go for those masks you have been making - I have made quite a few - tried varios types but they all don't have much room to breathe. I will see if the one you recommend is better!
Love the fabric you got from Sarah - beautiful colors!
he, he we both would need bigger "bras" I think! :-)
Lots of love and hugs,
Cardarian
Don't those bags look a pretty picture Jan and the fabric kindly received from Sarah really is bright and cheery. I had to giggle about the masks and the bra comment you'd need a lot more fabric for me hee hee.. It's been a real learning curve with the masks, i've been altering and adapting for a few weeks now and find a dart here and there can work miracles for shaping and giving a little bit more breathing room. You look fine and dandy modelling yours.
Hugs Tracey xx
Well done on all the bag making, Jan. I too feel claustrophobic in a mask and have tried making several different kinds. I haven’t been out much but just keep telling myself it’s a small thing to do at this time of pandemic. I’m making bunting-again!
Hi Jan! Oh your are so funny! Bra production! Hahahah! I am going to try a new mask pattern as well, hoping to get more air, although the ones I use now aren't too bad. I may have a new job in a couple of weeks, so I would be wearing one all day, more room to breathe seems like a good idea! Yours looks great! The one I'm going to try has pleats on the top and bottom, a little different! Thanks for your earlier visit, have a great week! Lindart #26
Oh Jan what a beautiful assortment of fabrics Just amazes me how much you accomplish. I must have too many interruptions !!! Some beautiful weather we are enjoying here No Humidity and I hopefully can work in a walk again. Love being outside. I agree with the sorting and time searching Have a great weekend and Stay Safe.
Masks make me a bit hot and bothered but worth it, I feel. I loved the new design - especially the "mask bras"! Definitely think you need to upscale to at least a G if you are thinking of taking orders. lol. Your little bags really are lovely Jan and will be so much appreciated. xxx Jo
Jan the bags are so cute. I am in love with that Paddington pattern. That is so special that you made them. I am finding I swallow half my mask when I breath so I bet that pattern is better for me too. I do like the daisy pattern. Today is another hot one! Sitting inside with AC. :(
Thanks for stopping by. I am making my rounds today!

Happy Belated WOYWW. I am on my new iPad! Now I can sit downstairs in front of the tv and catch up online (easier than using my phone). I love your piccies of the bags and your newly tidied storage. Very satisfying. Ali x. #28
Had a chuckle about your bra production, need some new ones, but think I'll stick to M & S. As alwasy love all your pretty fabrics. Thanks for your visit. Ani
ooh wow I am always SO amazed at your makes, they are brilliant and so pleased you found a face covering that is good for you, I am guessing these will be a fixture for several months to come. My mate crotcheted a couple of ear savers to use behind the ears for the elastic so we will try these next time we go out and see how they are (she has to wear them at work so makes them them bearable) love the fabric too (love a bit of nice post rather than bills or junk mail!)
