WOYWW 580

SOFT AND GENTLE, WARM AND TENDER....

I hope you're all keeping well in the general upheaval that seems to be still prevalent - thank goodness for crafting and our desk/FB buddies, you are all making this weird time a lot more bearable! The link up at WOYWW keeps me on track, at least I know what one day of the week actually is!

Thanks to all who entered the Hare Bag lockdown last week, the winner is:
                   ANGELA (CRAFTING WITH JACK)

Woohoo, I'll get it off to you this week, please can you email me your address? I hope it gives you good service.

It's a bit of a show and tell today - I have been making more drawstring bags for the Beads of Courage charity but thought I'd show you the results of my retail therapy instead!

I managed to get out to our local town last Saturday to visit the small fabric stall there - Foxglove Fabrics - bless her, she only opened up a couple of months before lockdown, so I thought I'd splash my cash at her business. I bought quite a lot!

There's a whole heap of lovely new stash to play with and I shall dive straight in. The tagliatelle at the front is leftover cotton twill tape from the scrubs bags which I'm using up.

Here are some close ups:

I LOVE this seaside fabric so much - it's great for the bag but I can really see a pair of toddler shorts in it as well!

The bright blue and white spot is the perfect lining too, love it!

I'll end with a pic of the gorgeous flowers my lovely menfolk gave me...just because....

So I'm sharing their prettiness with you, wonderful deskers around the world.

Hope you have a good week! xxxxxxxxxxxx

See that's both of us helping the Welsh economy! LOL! I adore that butterfly fabric. I did laugh at your tagliatelle comment too. Would it be any good for the edges of face masks? I hear they are popular right now... Have a fabulous week, Lisa-Jane #2

Hiya Jan, what a fab selection of fabrics, so pretty. We do need to support our small retailers now more than ever, so many are going to struggle.Beautiful flowers, I love lillies, but Doug absolutely hates the smell of them! Smiled at the pile of tagliatelle, lol. Love & hugs to you all, stay safe, Shaz XxXxXxXx

Gorgeous fabrics - always fall for spotty ones but the beach huts draw me - I long for a seaside visit. Wish I could be you for an hour or two going to the beach for a walk. Wish I could sew like you too - those bags are lovely and will be so enjoyed and loved by the children. You are so worthy of those flowers by your men, isn't it nice they appreciate you so. I think my flower days are over at the moment with neither of us being keen on going in a shop - still better to be as we are than risking things.
Have a wonderful week, you deserve them always.

Oooh lovely, Jan! Fabulous new fabrics. As always, I love a seaside theme, but I particularly love the butterflies one too! So good to support local businesses as well. Your little drawstring bags are so sweet and I am sure they are much appreciated. The tagliatelle looks delicious and would be even more so with some tomato sauce lol!! (Don't eat it all at once.)

Thank you for your visit, and I'm so glad you like my tiny carpets designs! I agree with you, there is something very relaxing and therapeutic about designing on graph paper. I've done a lot of knitting designs that way too. I do miss my EasyCross program though - it was a very useful tool. I managed to save some of my old designs and print them out but it was impossible to do new ones. I wish the designers had kept up with developments in Windows. I can't wait to get started on the needle books now. I've got to dig out some suitable fabric for the pages first.

Happy WOYWW,

Well done for doing your bit for the economy too! The craft sector will always be safe LOL! Lovely fabrics and draw-bag - you're the best thing that can happen to a piece of fabric! My stash is very jealous of your stash - they know they will just get glued onto something hehe! And that is if they see the light of day! They get stroked though just the same! Beautiful flowers perfectly arranged - made me think that I need a new vase with a more narrow neck! Thanks so much for your visit, Jan! Have a happy week! zsuzsa #10

Hello faraway friend! I am loving the new fabrics you bought. I think my favorites are the butterfly pattern and the seaside pattern. The bag is so cute. You are a magician with fabric! We have had some seriously hot and humid weather here since our last chat and after downpours yesterday, we are finally feeling relief with nice temps today and lower humidity. I feel like I can breathe again.
My boys are a bit restless so I think I will take them on a Target run. This heatwave on top of a pandemic makes for serious cabin fever. I think I will do some reading today and maybe some coloring in one of my coloring books. Stay well my friend!

Hi Jan, Great to see these gorgeous fabrics - you sure know how to pick 'em! I love the horses but the flowery houses are what we need - getting tired of grey skies, or as we have today, looked through the flat windows at rain on and off all day! The weather forecast is positive for the weekend though...we'll see!! Take care, Hugs, Chrisxx 30

Your right about our Wednesday gang keeping us going Jan. Even him indoors mentions it on Wednesday mornings. For the last two weeks I nearly haven’t posted because I’ve not done a lot desk wise but then late in the day realise well the desk isn’t the thing that matters. It’s us all being here and staying together. I hope Mrs D will agree with me.
That’s so lovely of you to support the new trader, they really need our help. We called in a new shop today to say hello and compliment her on her window display and shop. She makes quality handmade clothes. I hope it takes off for her as the location is only just starting to show signs of development. Lovely lady.
Have a good week Jan.

A whole lot of prettiness indeed Jan, what fun fabric you bought and how nice of you to spend your money at a local (small) shop - I try to do that also (but since I'm 'Dutch', I don't spend much at all *LOL*) Enjoy sewing! Hug from Holland, Marit #20
