GONNA GET RIGHT BACK TO WHERE YOU STARTED FROM

Sorry I was absent last week, there was just too much to do before I left the next day to go and stay with Julia - and I knew I wouldn't have time to return comments.  It was a whirlwind of a break but really great to have a good catch up with me ol' mucker!

This is last week's desk:
I'd been asked to make a jewellery roll and the Debbie Shore pattern I'd originally picked just didn't fit the bill. So, to t'Interwebs where I found a blog that had altered a Cath Kidston idea. Instead of being a roll, it folds in thirds and closes with some of my favourite poppers. This is a protoype for my friend Lynne.

There's a lined pocket at the top, a strip of lace to hang dangly earrings from, a stuffed roll to put rings on, which has a velcro closure at one end and a pocket at the bottom. The fabrics are really lovely, I enjoyed making this one!

And here it is folded up - more useful than a jewellery roll which tend to get creased. I might make a couple more of these for the WI stall at the town Christmas evening.

G and I had a lovely stroll around Salisbury last Friday and I may have gone into a fabric shop or two ;-)  I also got a couple of balls of glittery yarn to crochet some flowers to make into brooches:
They turned out ok, the red/green/white version is really lovely especially with a suitable button sewn in the middle!

Right that's it, short and sweet today - don't worry, it won't last......

Have a great week!

Morning... isn't that fabric just divine! I never understood the concept of a jewellery roll unless it hold just flat chains. Your jewellery wallet is a much better idea. I could think of many more uses than jewellery for that. I'd just love the oriental fabric on it's own haa haa!!
Lovely to have caught up with Julia, that yarn was a great find..!

Hi Jan, The jewellery wrap is lovely. That fabric is lush.

The crochet flowers are also lovely.

Glad you had a nice time with Julia.

Afraid due to broken shoulder, still not taking part, but wanted to let you know I am still around. Sue

Glad you had a visit to Julia-bet there was lots of laughter (and gin). I really like the jewellery roll and think it will be much more useful than the roll.

Ooh Jan that oriental fabric is stunning, and what a great adaptation of a jewellery roll - this one looks much more useful than the usual ones you see for sale. Fab wool and cute little brooches too, you talented lady.
So glad you had a great time with Julia, it must have been lovely catching up.
Have a great week,
Hugs, Diana xx #16

Love what you have done with the jewellery roll and it sounds so functional. unlike the ones you spend quite a bit of money on and they still don't do the job. Lovely to hear that you and Jan and DH's all got together and had some fun.

I'm late, I'm late for a very important date.....but I'm here now catching up with a few of my fav blogs. My day started off early when Phoebe and Lulu arrived for a day of crafty fun with me whilst their brother Steve, their Mum and Grandad went to watch Steve play in a football tournament.....if you want to see more then I will share pics on my Friday smiles [cos there were lots of those].
Really love the jewellery wrap and those brooches are fab....I'm sure they will sell well.

The jewellery stash is beautiful - reminds me of Chinese paper with those birds and flowers. What a lovely idea the lace strip is, I would never have thought of that to hand ear rings from but I can see it now.
Hope you make more and they go well at the shop.

I love the jewellery case, Jan. I've got something similar to keep my stoma emergency supply kit in for when I'm out and about, but it's black, and not half so pretty lol! I love the fabric you have chosen. Thank you for your visit - now there's a thought - a design based on a cathedral floor, all in teabags!! I've not got a lot of time to pursue the teabag effort at the moment but hope for more progress soon.

Happy WOYWW,

Hi Jan. Ah - so you know the Ponderosa... Ever go up there on a bike? Or weren't you and G bikers? Lovely flowers. I reckon they would go well, especially, as you say, with a suitable button in the middle. Love the jewellery pocket - you are just SO inventive. It looks great. Glad you both had such a fantastic time away with your ol' pal.
Take care girl. God bless.
