A LITTLE BIT OF THIS, A LITTLE BIT OF THAT....

After showing virtually no crafting last week, there's a right old pick and mix today!

Last week, I went into the Harbour Lights cafe where I sell my stuff for the RNLI to find that the box was almost empty! Brilliant news but I didn't have any in reserve at home so on one of the rainy days last week, I set to.

I tend to make a bunch in stages finding that it saves time that way. This grey fabric is a relatively new buy and I thought it looked lovely with the pink spotty - there's some matching purses as well.

As I finished one, I lobbed it over my machine onto the desk and this is how they ended up completely at random! Looks like it's been staged but it wasn't!  The purple stripey turned out nicely as the lining for that flowery print and I do like the sage green with the grey floral too.

This was followed by a session of poppy making. Our WI President will be taking part in the town's Remembrance Day service and we thought it would be nice if she laid a wreath made from knitted and crocheted poppies. I've crocheted mine, it's a simple pattern and have sewed circles of black felt on the machine - quick and effective! It was like a huge poppy chain (instead of daisy) until the threads were snipped.

Even though there was a pattern, they all turned out slightly differently!

And then I ran the WI Craft club yesterday and sorted out all the ribbons that Neet and Shaz Silverwolf donated to me at the Crop in June. Instead of being all tangled up in a box, it gave me a lot of pleasure laying them out like this!

It was then easy for the ladies to see which ribbon they'd like to choose.

It was a do-your-own-thing session based on felt ornaments. There was a couple more gals in the other room but I forgot to take a pic of them! Deep concentration......

Kim was a very neat stitcher - she's going to make a few more for the WI stall at the town's Christmas Carnival evening. We'll stick some mini candy canes or sweeties in and hopefully raise some funds for our group.

Apologies for showing a C&^$%£"(s craft today.....it's too early!!

Hope you all have a great week xxxx

Gosh your spec cases are very popular, but then you have fantastic materials. Do you take a tally of how many you make. Keep up the good work. Ani #6

Morning Jan. Oh such industry goes on in your home - I think I need to have a holiday to recover from all that hard work of yours! Fantastic that everything is selling so well - it's great fun watching things walk off the shelves - but it did mean a day of hard work! And... er... sshhh!! ... I have no problem with you shouting out the C word
Take care my friend. God bless.

That's an impressive and colourful collection of glasses cases, so beautiful. I love the rainbow of ribbons as well and the use to which they were put. I'm also not thinking about Christmas - I dont usually think about it until November! Happy WOYWW. Love & God Bless, Caro x (#12)

Nothing like a rainy day to get craft, what a super haul you created, i'm sure they will fly out just as quickly. You are welcome to come sort out my ribbons any day hee hee!! I always seem to get distracted when it come to craft sorting. Love that little stocking, I have many felt ornaments i've made for the tree. Great material to create with.

It must be a lot of fun selecting and pairing fabrics for your projects and it must also be a good feeling when people buy your stuff, knowing that they went to a good home. I remember once (years ago) I donated some hand-made cards for the school raffle - and nobody wanted them LOL. They all just wanted the booze and the chocolate. Those rainbow ribbons look really lovely - I bed you enjoyed sorting them! The poppy wreath will look wonderful with all those crocheted poppies. Show us when it's ready! Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa #16

It’s fine Miss LLJ, if the WI are preparing for christmas, then I feel OK with it! What a nice studious group you appear to have had around your table! Love all the glasses cases in a pile like that, very satisfying. The grey floral is pretty, same pattern as the multicolour floral, amazing how different they look! The Poppies are a triumph, they look great. Me and Joan have made some for a display at the Air Museum in Wallop, done to a pattern but I think they look a little measley!! Still, there’s a nice bundle to take over there and waste some time over for Joan!

Beautiful makes Jan - your posts always look so gloriously colourful! (Think you may also know how to take a photo). 'C&^$%£"(s' had me well confused. Oh THAT.... been doing it for weeks and won't stop now till the end of Jan. Glitter in my knickers already. (If I had any on that is). Thanks for the visit Happy WOYWW Cindy #17

Wow! You got a lot accomplished on your rainy day. And how satisfying to know your items are so popular!
Great poppies! I haven't crocheted for 20 years. Still have a zig zag afghan I made in my teens, though it's getting a bit ratty.
LOL about your apology! I'll be in full mode soon!
Thanks for popping by and have a fabulous week!

I too love the grey with the sage green - strange really as I am not a fan of green usually. Saying that they are all rather lovely. Now there was something about the RNLI in my life the other day and I thought of you, but for the life in me I cannot think what it was. I must email if it comes to me so I don't forget again.
Love all your makes but the poppies - oh they are really rather super. I just imagined you doing one, not enough for a small wreath. You must show us what it looks like when you all put it together for the Remembrance event.
Waited two days now for the District Nurses to ring - got in touch with the surgery and the DN's have closed so it will be another day yet - just hope the plaster does not stick to the open wound - makes me cringe.

Thank goodness for rainy days - they give the perfect opportunity to take to the craft room and do our thing. And you have been busy. It's so good your makes are selling so well even if it's keeping you busy. Love the wee felt stocking - lovely. Have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #22

What a wonderful colourful post, Jan. I love all your pretty fabrics, and that box of ribbons was delicious! What a treat. Thank you for your lovely comment which made me smile - before I tell you what the cement balls are for, I'd love to know what your imagination comes up with!! Oh well, I'll tell you... They are for adding texture in mixed media projects. You stick them down with gel medium and you can paint them, add gilding wax, etc. etc. The ones I bought were the larger ones, and I was hoping to be able to get bigger ones again - I think you can get them from suppliers of Powertex because people add them to that. That's where I first heard about them. Glad you like the slippers! It's nice to be working on the second one now.

Wonderful array of ribbons Jan, great gift from Neet Shaz, love the pile of glasses cases all piled up, you throw accurately! I reckon my random throws wouldn’t do that. 😆
Love the candy cane, though don’t like eating them!

Ok so maybe I did direct my feet to the papercrafting aisle a bit. ;)
Love the beautiful glass cases. I am sure they will be treasured. Oh my goodness, I love the poppy wreath you made for Rememberance Day. It makes me want to find a similar knit pattern to make one.
Love the way you organized the ribbon from Shaz. It's so inviting now. I bet it will get used up much faster.
Have a blessed day my friend and thanks for stopping by yesterday.

great that the box was nearly empty! I love the colors you have there. That one that looks like camo with wash tape strips caught my attention for some reason. I'm not a camo girl LOL. Maybe it was the 'washi tape' color strips. LOL Honey may get his surgery next week.. you know, while I have to be away. :-( Hugs & Creative Blessings! Kelly #25
