THANK YOU FOR THE DAYS.....
A combination of mad days and being away in Wales to look after my dad has meant no sewing this week.....and therefore no desk. Sorry! But there's some other stuff should you be interested :-) Do you remember this from last week?
Well, the assorted items got turned into this....
A little clutch bag for a friend whose son is getting married this Saturday...no patterns were involved, I just made it up!
I also made this reversible bandanna bib for a friend's baby boy last week.
But I did a fair bit of crochet while I was away...I'm doing squares for Crochet for Kidneys again.
I've got to make 54 for a blanket and this is the process....6 are going to be blue surrounds and the rest will be in the rainbow colours I've got left over from the last blanket! The flower square tutorial is on Colour and Cream blog, if you're interested :-)
I came back from Wales to a parcel...inside was a little thank you from Anne (Copper Beech) for the bag she won.....
A gift, a beautiful card and the sweetest papercraft handbag complete with angel charm. I love them, Anne, thank you so much. Your work really is gorgeous, I loved all the lilac tones and bling!!
It was a hard weekend in Wales, my dad isn't doing too well but we had a chance to escape to 'my' beach for an evening walk....
It was a bracing couple of miles but made us feel a lot better blowing away the cobwebs....
And would I pass up a chance to be stupid? No sirree...... :-)
Thanks for bearing with me...hopefully there will be a desk to show you next week!

Hi Jan
So sorry to hear your Dads not well. There is nothing like a walk on the beach for a bit of therapy although it was jolly cold here! Your projects are gorgeous as usual.
Love and hugs to you

Gorgeous makes - that clutch is beautiful! Lovely gifts you received, what a nice homecoming. Sorry your Dad is struggling - it's hard when one of your parents is left alone; hope he is ok soon. Love the photo of you being silly, but what a gorgeous beach! Helen 14

Hi LLJ
There may not have been a desk but I spied several tables with stuff on so you are forgiven. Love the crochet but most if all I love the welsh sunset. Nothing like 'home ' is there
Janet
Hi Jan. So sorry your dad isn't doing so well. Trust things will become easier for him soon. But a weekend in Wales - with a sunset like that - couldn't be better! (That's why we live here). What a beautiful card and gift from Anne. Lovely to come home to. Our visit last week to my dad wasn't so good, either. Was glad John was with me!
Take care. God bless.

The little silk purse is adorable, and I love the rose on the front - I bet your friend was thrilled with it. How lovely to receive those pretty things in the post - I bet they made your day! Hope your dad is soon on the mend,
Diana

Jan you are so much fun! What a doll. And I can't believe you just made up that clutch!! Now that is my favorite kind of sewing--I'm not a fan of patterns, and it turned out beautiful. Please keep us posted on your dad, it sounds like you had a crazy week. That papercraft bag you received is gorgeous too! And did you get your advanced degree in crochet? I am so envious of the kind of things you can make!! I know I keep saying I'll work on my crochet skills, but all I seem to end up crocheting is those necklace cords--pretty easy stuff. Oh, and I saw the two little white butterflies, May and June, in the garden this weekend. Wish I could get a photo of them--it always makes me think of you! Hugs! Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #55

Happy WOYWW. Sorry to hear your Dad is not so well. Which part of Wales does he live in? A beautiful Welsh sunset and, yes, a walk on the beach always lifts the spirit. Ali x. #20
A beautiful gift from Anne, richly deserved if I say so on your behalf! Just for a split second I thought I was going to page down and find your sand art! Looking forward to Friday.x
I am so sorry to hear about your dad. Sending positive thoughts and a hug your way.
Your projects are beautiful. Can't wait to see the crochet blanket!
Have a good week!
Hi Jan
Just popped by to catch up with you now that the summer hols are at an end!!! Sorry to hear you've been having it tough with you Dad. Hang in there. Sending you a big squashy hug and my love. We were in Wales a couple of weeks ago and the beaches are amazing aren't they. Even on a tough day that scenery must go along away to helping I'm sure.
Take care my friend.
Hugs Lisax
Ahoy matey! :) Late again, but I never miss out your posts. Love the bib - but glad it's not something I will need again - unless DS has kids (hopefully not for a few years LOL!)
Sorry to hear your dad isn't well but glad you got to get away to the beach for a little break from the worry. Keeping you both in my thoughts. Oh and loving the squares too - that is a great stress reliever, doing a cheerful motif. Hang in there...
Happy WOYWW!

Hi Jan - sorry that things are rough for your Dad at the mo. It's such a blessing that you're able to go and help him, even though it's a long way. Mum (90) lives with us and, although she's a sweetie, it really is a full time job, just snatching an hour of 'me' time occasionally. So I'm glad you're finding a little crafting time for yourself - it's very important that you make time for that. I know that where I'm concerned, my family get a much nicer me as a result LOL! Have a good week, Chris # 29
Hiya Jan, I LOVE that song by The Kinks- one of my all time favourites. No desk this week from me, all good, I just lost track of the days, lol. Updating later, as I now have the admission date for first surgery. Huge Hugs, Shaz xxx
That little turquoise purse is lovely Jan - totally unique of course. Sorry to hear your Dad isn't doing too well - hope things pick up quickly. x Jo
Oh Jan, so sorry to hear dad is not well. Will put him in my prayers.
Glad you managed to have fun on the pier or wherever it was, how lovely to live close to a beach. I envy you.
The paper handbag and everything else is utterly gorgeous, bet you were ever so pleased.
Great makes and I love the bandana - super idea for bibs.
Hugs, Neet 16 (I am like the White Rabbit in Alice - always late - thanks for your earlier visit).
I hope your dad gets better, will say a prayer for him and for you. Love what you did with the items in the first picture! Even without seeing your desk you've been quite busy! Love all you're doing! And being stupid now and then is great! Happy belated WOYWW and thanks for popping by!

Hello Dear LLJ,
Oh, I hope your dad improves. I'm glad that you were able to visit him and also do something for yourself. I imagine the walk on the beach is very relaxing and gave you time to reflect and just be in the moment.
The clutch you made is gorgeous. I'm sure your friend loved the finished product. All without a pattern too -- how clever! The reversible bib looks great too. If you thought to sell them I would imagine you could alter the pattern a bit and sell them as dog bandanas. Now, I'm not comparing children to dogs here -- it's just that kids are my dogs! tee hee
I love the photo of you in the cutout, by the way.
Not playing along this week but wanted to visit a few people.
Happy belated WOYWW
Hugs,
Kay
PS When I sent a package to you did I include a New Mexico mug? I'm trying to remember.....
Hello Jan, I was in the middle of typing this and it disappeared, so if you get two comments ( one half written) that's me. I saw the name of your blog in a sister's blog-list and I had to come visit. I love that you sew, make cards, crochet . . . that you like doing a lot of different things. I also love your outlook of life . . . I got that from your profile. I am your newest follower and I hope that you will follow me back.
Connie :)
I hope your dad is doing better, and I love to have my picture taken in those silly photo thingies too : D. If we're ever out together, we'll have to find some doubles lol.
