241? Sounds like two-for-one...which is apt really, as I have two versions of my desk to show you today!
Ladeeeez and Gentlemen...I present the most delectable, the most tempting, the most colouricious Desk No 1
I undid my jelly roll and sorted the strips out into colour groups...
One little frolic of gorgeousness...
and the other end of the spectrum. D'you know, I reckon I had a needlecord dress in the 70's that was in that floral brown fabric 2nd from left! I wore it with my denim blue suede boots....goodness, I loved those boots, wore 'em until they fell apart....sigh
I had a lovely play and sort out but have absolutely no idea at the moment what I'm going to make with them! Inspiration will strike when I least expect it, no doubt......
So, not One Desk to enthral and entertain this fine day, but A Second, on which some actual crafting appears, faint ye not!
A friend has asked me to make a quilt and pillow for her grand-daughter's doll pram and as the pastel pretties were still around after the bunting last week, I thought they'd make a sweet little patchwork.
D'awwwwwww, a mixture of spots and stripes. And all machine washable cos I reckon it'll be 5 minutes before (a) Chocolate (b) Mud (c) Juice (d) combination of the above gets tipped over it, lol!! And that's ok...it's what washing machines and childhood are for.....
Have a great week everyone!

What pretty fabrics! You really have me thinking now, I made a brown floral needlecord skirt when I was a teenager, this is the first time I have remembered it in a very long time! I loved it and probably wore it out! I surprise myself how much I sewed and knit in my teens, the result of not growing up with computers I suppose!
That little quilt is going to be so pretty, love those pastels!
Hope you had a lovely Christmas, sorry I am so late with that, not a lot of computer time over the past month! Not a lot of creative time either come to think of it!
Have a great week, Debxx
oh wow two desks.... both gorgeous!! Needlecord dresses now that takes me back too! the quilt for the dolls pram is going to be soooo pretty!! Happy WOYWW Helen, 7
Want to know what I would do with that jelly roll fabric?....well I will tell you....absolutely nothing but stroke it! How yummy are all those gorgeous fabrics and I really love just what you've done with them :-)
Hugs,
A x # 44

Such beautiful colours to brighten up a full Wednesday! Thank you.
Happy woyww

Oh wow, those fabrics are delicious! I also had a needlecord pinafore in a very similar pattern - orange on brown - it was sooooooo fashionable and I really was the bees knees!!! Those fabrics look stunning together, and I would buy them just to own them, not to actually make anything with them! I have just found some fabrics on Rainbowsilks that are designed around the Downton series - I am trying hard to resist but I know I'll buy them soon!
Have a great week - Diana xx
Two for the price of one!! I love a bargain. Gorgeous, gorgeous colours to brighten this grey morning. Have a great day. Hugs Anne x #49
Oooo Jan - gorgeous! Don't they all just look so yummy set out like that? Well done for the little quilt and pillow - they look so nice. Yep, chocolate would really set off those pastels, wouldn't it?
Have a great week.

Hello Jan! It's great to be back! You really stirred my memories of frocks I had in the 'seventies! I can just see a little smock I had that was turquoise and brown squares. Everyone loved it! I got it in a tiny, little independent boutique - remember those - lovely cheap and cheerful frocks usually run up by the owner on a machine in the back! Yes childhood and washing machines do so go together too. And I use the top of mine to craft on still. Have a lovely WOYWW full of colour and joy just like your beautiful posts - I've missed them so much! Julie Ann xx
Sorry I'm #54 today. I got a bit carried away thinking about the 'seventies! Julie Ann xx#54
Thank you for the lovely welcome back. I am soooo pleased you like the steampunk canvas and yes she sailed by sea as I was too cheap to pay for her to fly! I will slowly post some pics of our holiday in the US. Seems all a blurr after Xmas, New Year and then back to work. Love the fabrics .... you even arrange them beautifully. Sandra @28
As always your desks look yummy with their array of colour and fabulous fabrics!! Hope you are well! Take care Zo xx 56
Fabulous colourful fabric on your desk . Thanks for stopping by earlier Jill #49
What a cheerful looking desk with all the fabrics! Lovely! Uniflame #65
Yep I must say your desk has won the color competition this week! And you are right that doll pram quilt will have extra colors on it in a very short time! Huh! I hope I will be able to come to the crop but I don't know for sure - our MG club has a trip around that time so I think there will have to be a compromise! But not to worry after July I will be spending loads of time in England and we can have a mini crop in Kent - you will get a big Cardarian hug then if not before!
Lots of cyber hugs
Cardarian
I am with Cardarian you win the most colorful desk this week hands down. Inspiration can strike at any time and I think I had a dress in that material too LOL oh and a blouse with the 7th one in from the left in brown. Wish I could come to the crop but slightly a bit far for a weekend and a big swim across the pond. Hope you have a wonderful crafting week.
Happy WOYWW

Hi again Jan. Thanks for popping by. The wellies are mid calf - suit my legs as well. They were from Joules. D.I.L. got them on line. They came in gorgeous bag - which I partially recycled - sending some boxes to BJ - see her blog she has a photo :-) Hope this helps. X
Gorgeous fabrics. Amazing colours. The doll quilt looks great too.

Be still my heart! I LOVE that rainbow zig zag (chevron as its known these days tuh!) on the left of the first pic. Something quite magical about seeing all those strips lined up and raring to go. Your dolly quilt idea has lit a little idea in my head about my daughter's pram and perhaps me making a little quilt for that - I could manage that couldn't I? #41
Drooling over your lovely fabrics. What lovely patterns and colors. Fun how it reminds you of clothing and outfits from youth. (I was just admitting to the hubby I had t purple sweatshirt with John Stamos on the front and purple velvet lettings saying "Winnie Loves Blacky" on the back from when I was in school and loving General Hospital. Memories. Lucky little one to get a quilt for her dolly and yes, perfect childhood memories for her. Winnie#64
Aren't jelly rolls just brilliant? I love that you can have such a wide selection of fabrics in one and yet somehow they all go together! PS I may have been a naughty girl in Fabricland yesterday!
Fiona #85
What a great set of fabric, can't wait to see what you make. Have a great day.
Ohhh it certainly is a desk of loveliness, the green and turquoise is my end!!!!! Although like you I definitely remember wearing something in the brown end when I was about 7!!!!
That is going to be a very pretty dolls quilt. We had one similar made by Grandma but it is sadly stored in the loft now!!
Thanks for stopping by earlier. Hope all is good your end.
Hugs Lisax #53
Super colour fest there Jan - love the olive greens. The quilt will be adorable. BJ#2
I think I have some paper the same as your dress and that hunk of fabric there. They look so nice all laying there together. Yes, however will you decide what to do with them?? It will be something fabulous I'm sure.
what stunning fabrics and love that quilt your making what glorious pastel fabrics will be a beautiful i would have loved that in my dolls pram what a very lucky girl indeed .have a good week ahead crafty hugs Andrea #17
Awesome fabric colours there Jan- your photos are always a riot of colour. The dolls pram quilt is adorable, really sweet. As you say, good that it will be machine washable. What is it with kids being a dirt magnet, lol. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #33
Ooh! You're on a roll, lol! Probably the 50th person to say that! I do recall cord dresses in those colours too, I might even own up to owning a blouse in a very similar pattern and colour! Thanks for the birthday wishes, it was -6C on the day, so a lot warmer than we'd previously had it. The wool is likely going to be for a shawl or two, I also got a book on lace shawls so I'd like to have a go at that next. Love the pretty little pram cover, washable all the way, otherwise it won't last 5 mins!
Hugs

Thanks for popping in on my blog.
Hope I have got you right, as on my blog you put you were number 45, but you are 41 on this weeks WOYWW.
Lovely fabric.
Hi Jan, you've done it again! I'm salivating over the jelly roll fabrics - they are soooooo beautiful. And the pastel squares for the doll's pram cover are gorgeous too. You'll be pleased to know that I have cracked the tension on my crochet and am now happy with my hexagons. And with the craftroom having been out of bounds for most of the last couple of days there's seven completed with more to come. Pity there isn't a little fairy around to sew in the ends though :( Hope you have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #67
oh wow what beautiful fabrics there i love them, and i love the little owl peeking at the first pic! :) Lx
You may not know what you intend to do with those gorgeous materials, but I bet you enjoyed stroking them for the moment, and just absorbing those beautiful colours. I am hoping to get to the Crop this year. I am just waiting on a couple of other dates before I can commit for certain, so if I get there, maybe I will see what you make with those materials. xx Maggie #24.
I see what you did there 241 indeed..... very clever. I posted twice .., woke at 3 ish and posted then forgot and posted when I really got up. Doh!
Anyway love the colours in the jelly roll, maybe you should make yourself a quilt.
thanks for the offer of the fabric but i'll pass as the venue doesn't need any decoration ... it is already like a set from Moulin Rouge .... but in a good way in fact fabulous, there is even a zebra print carpet. :-)
have a great week
janet #18
How gorgeous are those pictures? Fabric heaven! Went to Joanne's to look for Graphic 45 fabric but the assistant did not know what I was on about. They only carried two of the TH ones! Ah well, save my money.
The quilt looks so pretty in those pastel colours - enjoy!
Hugs and thanks for the visit, Neet 24 xx
No different really form us paper strokers are ya! re-arranging into colour batches for the pleasure of the touching and the seeing. Lovely. Wonder how long it will be until you actually use any of it!
I've seen jelly rolls in the fabric shops, but never undone. Lots of fabric strips, and surprisingly a full range of colors, too. Very retro looking fabric. The pastels are beautiful. Although I've never been a pastel person, I really like these. They will make a darling pram.
I'm so late this week, I went from 16 to 13. Of course, that makes no difference, since you have already visited.
Hi LLJ,
Oh--- love the fabrics that came from the jelly roll! I have a small stash of fabric just because it's so pretty! Tee hee. I really like seeing some of the retro fabrics too. I wonder if I could make a peasant blouse - remember those?
Thank you for visiting me already. I'm slowly making my way around.
Happy WOYWW
Hugs, Kay (3)
Oh be still my beating heart....a jello roll all laid out with its gorgeousness (that is a word surely?) displayed for all to see....she temps us so!
As to the childs quilt you are making, I though mud, juice and chocolate were the names of a new jelly roll design!!
off to stroke my fabric stash!
kyla #30
Oh such beautiful fabric - I am almost stroking my laptop screen!! x Jo
ooooooh! is it bad that I'm ACTUALLY DRIBBLING whilst perusing your pics?! hhehe - such a luscious assortment of colours and patterns. And I think I had a smock in that fabric in the 70's - it would have been worn with my bright yellow bell-bottoms with the gingham insets and matching patch pockets!
The pretty pastels will make a perfect patchwork for a dolly pram - I hope we'll get to see the end result.
Happy WOYWW a day late
OMG! Love all that beautiful color! I need to organize mine but don't seem to have the uphmfff it takes. Thanks for sharing it with me! Vickie #99
Jan, re you question on my blog. I used one jelly roll but mums bed is only 4" however I plan on making a double for me and only have one roll for that so fingers crossed!
Kyla
Ps....hmmm....Guy Martin....very nice. Did u watch his show when he refurbished a canal boat? Brilliant
What pretty fabrics you have Jan, they will make a gorgeous pillow and quilt.
Hugs Diane
I love sweet florals so I love the 1st combination better than the darker combination. So pretty! Patsy
Those colours look good enough to eat! I think I also had a dress in that brown floral.
Love the pastel colours.
Happy very belated WOYWW!
