WOYWW 4 - HAPPY BLOGGAVERSARY EVERYONE!!

CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES,
COME ON!
IT'S A CELEBRATION....

To boogie on down and party, listen here

Thank you, Julia!
What for?
Fun, friendship, sharing, creativity, deskery
sticky-beakinessideas, laughing, empathy,
jokes, improving geographical knowledge,
(I now know a lot more about where you WOYWWers are around the world!)

The list could go on...and as much as you are self effacing, Julia, it really is all down to you. Not just the initial concept, but the management of the blog, week in week out. We all owe you a big Thank You and Mahoosive Hugs :-)

This week's desk is a bit sparse again, because I've had quite a bit to do for the upcoming Crop!! However, for what it's worth, here's my meagre offering!

We had our allotted two days of summer last weekend, so I took my crochet outside....

Yummy, ice cream colours....

The Hungry Caterpillar fabric has been used....

To make this! Now if those colours aren't
cheerful, well, I'll eat my hat!!

And a little stack of gorgeousness for the Crop ;-)

And that's it! I'm looking forward to seeing who my fellow swappers are going to be! They (poor things) will be the recipients of my first ever attempt at stamping - thanks, Julia, for guiding me through!!

Enjoy the fun today, everyone!!

Your pile of crochet squares is growing nicely, and I love what you have used that fabric for. Good luck with your stamping. Who knows, you may be hooked after that. You could also start stamping to create your own fabric designs. Have fun. xx Maggie

I love all the fabric colors, and of course, I'm singing right along with you this morning. Yep, it's finally morning here, too!

I can't make the crop this weekend (for very obvious geographic reasons), but be aware, I'll be there in spirit. Have a great crop and a very happy WOYWW4 from # 21.

FINALLY got to see some of this in real life yesterday and as I said, the basket of yarns (technical, professional crafter term) is just a summary of your love of colour and change. Loving the blog background..did I tell you that already?

Lots of yummy fabrics and the bright and cheerful bag is so fab; I'll take a bite of that hat with you! I'm so tickled, Jan, about the stamping! Do we get to see your result next week, I hope? I showed my ATCs on my post, which is prolly a big no-no, but I was always the girl that would show her knickers for a penny. This is so fun! Have a wonderful week! Darnell #34

I also meant to say how much I like that lovely picture. Thanks for your visit, and you can find out the state of my dirty computer from Shaz' s clever husband, who sorts all our computers out, usually removing more dust than I empty from the vacuum cleaner. It has caused the cooling fan to die, so I must be patient until the new one arrives. Until then, I will have to use the newly improved laptop. xx Maggie #44

Hi Jan. They're not ice-cream colours to me; they're a bowl of sugared almonds. I am crocheting squares in those colours too. It is one of the many half-finished projects that people pass on to me from their 'forgotten drawer' for my knit for Africa project. So I try to make something useful from them all.
I love the hungry caterpillar fabric. It takes me straight back to my days as a nursery school manager. It has to be the all time favourite children's book. One day we 'ate' our way through it, trying everything that the caterpillar ate. It was hilarious - especially when I gave each of them a 'nice green leaf'!
Have a great anniversary day. Kate x

Happy 4th Anniversary! Pleased you became a WOYWW special friend! Gutted I can't make the Crop!
Super crochet, gorgeous colours. The squares are ideal for making when travelling and making from shorter lengths of wool but the Wave or Ripple is easier... no sewing up needed! I made 6 huge blankets from March to end of last year in spare/waste time!!
You MUST MUST come to the Pool of Life in July and I'll give you a tour to get most out of it. Will show you the special things you'd miss. You'll want to come again as there's so much to see and do and there are free rooms (a double and a single) right here!
Lots of love Jo x

Aw fab post lovely. Lush fabrics and makes as always, must email you about the money! Ha ha. Of course I will bring an image for you and give you some tutoring, my pleasure. That's partly why I thought I'd bring pens etc, so many people ask me questions about colouring I thought I'd just show people if they want to see that is!! See you Saturday. I'll probably be early like last year, my sense of distance and timing are always off! Take care Zo xx 77

Jan, oh my goodness, your crochet looks ahhmazing! I love your word, "deskery." Perfect word! I don't know what sticky-beakiness is...but I like it! I'm trying to find a way to use that word today--I have to give a little speech at an event this morning...that would be hilarious! WOYWW has given me so much and asked for so little...and it's given me you, my dear UK soul sister. Life is just better knowing that you're on the planet! So, let's see, if we skyped on Saturday around 7 p.m. your time, I think that would be around 1 p.m. my time. I have a new laptop with a webcam, so my daughter can help me get the skype ready to go I think. Let's stay in touch about this plan. Hugs dearest! Happy WOYWW! Hello Jan, happy 4th anniversary to you too :) I'm also so glad we met through Julia's machinations, she does indeed deserve a mahoosive hug :) Your grannie squares are just gorgeous and they do look good out in the sun - our two day summer indeed! And that fabric has me drooling - I'm gutted that I won't be at the workshop. Oh, and my feet and legs are like balloons and sooooo painful, but a few days of lying in the prone position, together with extra helpings of painkillers, is helping - thanks for your good wishes. Hope you've had a lovely WOYWW, Elizabeth x #155

That caterpillar bucket is fantastic!!!! I love the bright colours. Again you have me wishing I could crochet when you talk about taking it outside, not to easy to do with paper crafting. I am in total lust with those beautiful granny squares....such luscious colors and now that we finally have gotten rid of the snow and it is green outside my window I can easily imagine a lovely blanket spread out on the grass with a little one crawling about! You probably have a totally different use...but I'm very happy in my own little world thank you. It's actually rather comforting to read about others who experience, well, shall we say, short summers (you know the three nice days). Thanks for stopping by the Fun Room. Glad you like the elephant stickers, I would be so happy to share them if you send me your address. It's quite a big box!! Just send me your address... sjansenak@hotmail.com
