WATCH THE FLOWERS GROW...
Happy 888th WOYWW everyone, a pleasing number indeed - it's brilliant to think that this weekly dose of desky shenanigans has been going for so long - may it continue for many more!
I've been keeping myself busy this week ticking off the days to my cataract op (which is tomorrow) We've been out for lots of walks, visiting some lovely places and the JanCave has seen some action as well.
I cut up all the roses fabric and paired it with a lovely warm grey - I really like this combo a lot! I did the check fabric too but forgot to take any pics...doh...
The crochet waves blanket is slowly growing:
This is a slightly smaller one (large baby blanket size) so it's not too hot on the lap when I'm doing a few rows.
But mostly we've been getting out and about in this perfect (for me!) weather.
The lake in the nearby country park is full of water birds and water lilies...
Beautiful! We also returned to Aberglasney as we're making good use out of our membership:
It was a riot of pinks, purples, yellow and white - the nepeta (bottom right) was crawling with bees and pollinators, you couldn't hear yourself think cos of all the buzzing!
It's a garden that isn't overly manicured, I rather like the blowsy borders spilling over.
There were a lot of peony varieties too, this was my fav and I took a pic for Lynne and Julia who love them xx
I love these, very architectural!
We stopped at the cafe for some lunch and sat outdoors under a parasol. When I looked up I couldn't stop laughing...
Lololol!! I know the view was just as good the other way!
I'll try and visit/comment today but may not get round everyone. Hope to see you all next week....in sharper focus, hooray! Love and hugs from Lunch Lady Jan xxxxx

Gorgeous gardens and fab photos too. But the across-the-table photo did make me hoot with laughter. Love the roses+gray, what a wonderful combo. Best of luck and fast healing for the op.

Your trip photos are stunning but I had laugh out loud moment at the pic of G. 🤣. I really love the rosey fabric and those cross body bags are fab. Best of luck tomorrow Jan. We will all be thinking of you and hope it goes brilliantly for you.x x Jo 🌈
Good luck with your cataract op, I had one done 12 months ago and have an appointment on 25th june for other eye. I love the peonies when I lived in UK my front garden was full of them - lovely pink ones. Sadly none here in Spain.
Your blanket is lovely and your garden photos are beautiful. Thanks for the waterlilies and the peony.
Fingers crossed for tomorrow, don’t forget your sunglasses! I will be beaming healing wishes west to you.
Happy WOYWW

Hello Jan, What a lovely post. I love all your makes - you have been busy. The photos taken on your trips out are lovely too. That last photo is so funny. I hope your cataract removal op goes well and you make a quick recovery. I look forward to hearing how it goes for you. I have slow developing cataracts in both eyes but no op just yet. Will be thinking of you tomorrow. Hugs, Elizabeth xx #12
The flowers have done really well this year with the warm damp weather. I would say good luck for tomorrow but you wont need it. Your new collection of fabrics and the bags are lovely. Wishing you a very happy woyww with hugs Angela x10x
My Mom would love one of those cute bags, and that blanket you're working on is lovely. My wife and I love nature walks too, and that park you and your husband visited looks wondrous. I pray your surgery op went well, and happy WOYWW!
Aberglaany is a dream of a place isn’t it, I love the manicured look but prefer the less manicured, it feels more achievable! Beautiful photos as usual. I agree about the rose fabric with the grey, looks fab, really warm and rich. I hope your focus is back by this time next week, good luck for tomorrow… Bart says your biggest change might actually be that you notice colours seem stronger! Be thinking of you. X
Beautiful photographs. You have obviously not had the same weather as we have had : wind and rain, but there is always a few hours dry weather to walk the dogs. Praying it all goes smoothly tomorrow Hugs Angela. #13
Glorious photos Jan. Just popped by to wish you luck for your eey op, and a very speedy recovery . Sorry I'm a bit late, you might have had it done by the time you see this! Lots of love and hugs xx
Hope the op went well and you're back to clear vision soon. I guess I'm a bit late replying oopsey. So lovely to see your photo of the pink water lilies as that's just what I have put on my living line embroidery spurred on by Lynne's owl embroidery. Last photo dead funny ROFL too. Gorgeous makes as always, Hugs Bj#8
