HOLIDAY....CELEBRATE....
Well, that was a packed few days! Making last minute items for tomorrow's craft fair (think of me and the gals 5-9pm!) but also we managed to get away for a couple of days, of which more later.
I sent a few Christmas bits and bobs to an old friend, she'd asked if I could make her a snowman toy. I found an old Jean Greenhow pattern and had a go - I've never actually knitted one before. After making all the chocolate orange/FR covers, it was just on a larger scale really!
I used sparkly yarn for his boots, mittens and hat and it came out really nicely, he looks a friendly chap!
I knitted a few things whilst away and finished them off yesterday:
The pink yarn is sparkly too, so pretty. I'd run out of little bows so found a peasy YouTube tutorial using ribbon and a fork, it worked ever so well...
Cute huh?
It's not just me that's been making for the stall, other ladies have been busily crafting and my mate Sue made these fun felt pigs in blankets:
They're fab and made me smile!
That's it for crafting as we were away for four days. We went to St Davids in Pembrokeshire as it's been years since we were last there. A nice little cottage in the centre meant we could leave the car and walk everywhere. We even managed a stretch of the Welsh coastal path:
The old RNLI lifeboat station at St Justinian's with Ramsey Island behind - boat trips leave from there in the summer which is a fun thing to do.
St David's Cathedral is small but perfectly formed, I'd forgotten how beautiful it is.
There are some amazing ceilings...
and some brilliant and bonkers misericords. This dragon definitely ate all the pies lol!! There were green men galore, the medieval wood carvers had obviously enjoyed themselves!
My son Rhys is 6'3 and we have a series of photos of him standing in small doors/castle fireplaces etc, we've done it for years:
It just makes us laugh, he's a good sport and willingly does this. It takes very little to entertain my simple mind!!
And of course, my yarn/fabric shop senses didn't let me down:
Well, it would have been rude not to!! I may have bought some Yarnsmiths DK....
I heard from Neet yesterday, she's Covid and Pneumonia free and the oedema is going down. I think she's going to be kept in for another couple of weeks just to make sure but that's great news to hear she's better. Hugs to you Neet, we're all thinking about you xxxxx
Hope you have a great week! xxxx

First, good that you heard from Neet, I was worried when you'd not heard from her... the pic of Rhys did make me smile; as you say it's the little (or not so) things!! Your few days away look fabulous, and the weather seems to have been kind . Good luck with the craft stall. Happy WOYWW Helen #2
Lovely photos of your break away - especially the tiny doorway! I'm glad you had a bit of fine weather as it sounded as if there were floods everywhere down your way. The tiny mice are delightful and the piggies made me smile. Fancy finding a yarn shop then😉 x x Jo 🌈
It looks lie a fun time was had by all while you were away. It's good to see you managed to support a local yarn shop :-) Good luck with the craft stall....hope you sell lots.
Hugs,

Lovely to hear the good news of Neet...
Love all the Christmas knits and felts...those mice are so cute!
I enjoyed seeing the South Wales pics too - we used to live in Haverfordwest so they were lovely reminders...
Great picture of Rhys!

Oh wonderful news about Neet Lunch Lady Jan.
So VERY glad to hear that did send her a card a while back but not sure how long from Oz to England.
I know the one to France has arrived.
I'm impressed at all your sewing creations for the 5pm to 9pm fair! That is late... loved Pembrokeshire too. Happy WOYWW,

Those pink mice are great! adorable. We took photos of Dear Son in trees but he soon got too big to fit (and too lazy to climb LOL!) so we didn't make it too long. I will def. be thinking of you and wishing loads 'a money coming your way. Thanks too for the update on Neet. Glad to hear things are going better for her. Such a relief!
Happy mad-dash WOYWW!

Great news about Neet. Hubby was 6'9" but I never thought of taking photos like that. Sorry for the generic comment but I wanted to visit everyone before I start packing - early start tomorrow. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah
That is a massive relief to hear that Neet is getting better, missing her so much. Love your snowman and pleased you had a nice trip away. Hope the Craft fair goes well too. It's so good to see the variety of crafting that people make and sell. Have a lovely woyww. Hugs Angela x11x
That’s good news about Neet. I love your snowman, the little mice and Sue’s pigs in blankets.
Rhys is looking good in the little doorway. We haven’t been to St David’s in years, though our sofa comes from the Deanery and was given to Brian’s grandfather.
We’re glad you had good weather for your break.
Happy WOYWW

Oh my life, I linked this morning and then felt awful. Had a horrid headache last night and have been feeling awful all day, slept most of it feeling cold with 5 layers, now I'm hot again with the window open, think I must have another virus, probably picked up from waiting an hour in the hospital Monday for my annual appt.... So no not really feeling better after all what a pickle.
Super knitting, so neat. Adore the little mice. so cute. Never been to St David's looks lovely. Hugs BJ#9

My bed is tidy so no reason to stay up.
Wish I could blog but I can’t for some reason so it night night from me via Jan xx
