 GIMME SOME OF THAT CHOCOLATE!

Hi there lovely Deskers, hope you've had a good week! Here we are again linking up over at Sarah's for another round of Desky snooping. While I remember, Eva and Robyn, your messages about wanting to contribute to Julia's fund was so very lovely of you but it would have been a bit tricky coordinating payments from abroad. I included your wishes in with the gifts and I know Julia and Mr D were so appreciative. Thank you again xx

Another busy week has rolled by, this is what was on my desk last Friday:

There's been a lot of Ferrero Rocher stuffing going on lol! Hats, gnomes, bears, snowmen, robins, penguins, you name it they've had a FR stuffed up 'em *grin*

I was trying to explain to Lynne about my quick and dirty method of cutting holly leaves out of felt, here's a pic, hope it makes sense!

I cut out triangles and then each point gets snipped to form three leaves. I know they're not exactly holly leaves but they're good enough for a decoration on the Christmas Pud FR covers!

We rolled out the stall on Saturday:

The first craft market of the season. It was a lovely sociable morning and we had a brisk trade.

And it definitely wasn't too early for Christmas! We sold a lot of everything and made £182.50 which took us over the £11k mark, hooray! Everything else is just a bonus now - I've got another fair this Saturday and some of the RNLI ladies who helped me knit a lot of the items are coming to help, so that should be fun.

In the JanCave, I fancied doing something different so found the fabrics that G's sister donated to me (brand new FQs she found in a charity shop)

I put a couple of stash fabrics in there as well and am doing a simple baby quilt of squares.

It turned out ok, now for the backing and border but goodness knows when that's going to be done!

Have a good week, enjoy the autumn weather and may your crafting be stress free xxx

What an amazing result Jan. It's so hard to make money from crafts which makes your total all the more satisfying. Your quilt is going to be another triumph - what a super charity shop bargain. And as for the FR stuffing!!!! 🤣🤣x x Jo 🌈

That’s brilliant, Jan. Your quilt is beautiful, you’ve a true eye for colour. Thanks so much for sharing your holly leaves photo. I get it now- I was thinking of a single leaf. It’s a neat method and your holly decorations are perfect, especially on your crimbo puds.
Happy WOYWW

I do like the idea of FR stuffing, but of course, I know what it really means. You don't like them enough to do the old 'one for me and one for stuffing' do you! You did do well at the weekend, the stall looked lovely, am sure the 'full' look of it contributes to people buying stuff. It's just my theory! Congratulations again for reaching and passing the 11K target, it's a staggering amount !

Well done at your Christmas stall. Great way to cut fiddly holly. You can get some bargains at the charity shops, but sometimes things are way overpriced.

Oh Jan that first photo of the Jan Cave is so full of Christmas cheer. It looks so wonderful. .As does your stall when you transferred it all. I love how you have those little ladders to display stuff on. The FC's look so good on there.as does everything else, could eat a pudding right now.
Congrats on reaching your target
it' only the second blog I've looked at `but I bet it's the most colourful.

Amazing pre-Xmas sales - well done. I agree and will take that triangle tip if I ever have to do Holly leaves again. A real time saver. The quilt is looking very sweet and girly. Trust you to make the best of charity shop finds. Bet some little girl will love it, even if you seem a tad lukewarm when you describe it :) The backing fabric will all bring it together I'm sure!
A little late, but Happy WOYWW anyway!
