I SAW A MOUSE! WHERE?
THERE ON THE STAIR.
(Bet you're all singing that now, lol!!)
Happy Wednesday everyone - it's the time again for the sharing of our weekly makes over at Sarah's Craft Shed. There's always something wonderful and inspiring to check out, I really enjoy seeing what everyone's working on!
There's been a little more sewing and knitting but mainly sorting out this week. I am feeling a bit better with the vertigo, thanks for all the commiserations last week, it's not dangerous or life threatening but my goodness, you feel really grim.
Anyhow, onwards and steadier!
Some new plastic wallet files kicked off a sorting out of my templates and patterns....
...but I did do a bit of cutting out and sewing. These cross body bags have been a hit down at the cafe where my fundraising sales take place (only £400 to get to £11K for the RNLI) Both the camo fabrics were £1.50 a metre in a sale so that's really great for maxing the profits. And I'm channelling my inner Bet Lynch with the leopardskin, lol!
Most of the crafting has been knitting though:
FC now has eyes to guide Rudolph through the night skies!
The sparkly yarn that Wipso gave me was great for a hat and scarf for this Choc Orange snowman.
And the little mice got bows or pompoms, it just finished them off nicely!
I carried on sorting out, this time with my knitting patterns:
I've been putting them into spiral bound wallet files, so much easier. Toys, Christmas stuff, garments, blankets, hats - all now in their right places. But my favourite thing? That yellowed scrap of paper....
My dear mum's handwriting for the Feather and Fan knitting stitch *love* More precious to me than any gold or antique. She taught me to knit when I was 6 and I hope that she'd be proud that I'm still making all these years later xx
Hope you have a marvellous week, whatever you get up to!

I do think FC looks better with eyes! Glad the vertigo has eased and you've been able to get some sorting done - the scrap of your mum's writing is very precious! I have some recipes written out by my mum. Happy WOYWW Helen #3
Oh my. You know, I have a little handwritten note from my Grandma, a card from an engagement gift, and it is very precious to me. Will my emails to my kids hold the same weight? I doubt it. Love the knitting and I am also a huge fan of wallets for sorting and storing. Glad your vertigo is a bit better and £11K?? Crikey!
Happy WOYWW!

Dear Jan!
After a week with a stomach bug, I'm on the mend and was really looking forward to your blog.
And right away, I was greeted by the lovely mouse ballet and your wonderful handicrafts. My grandmother taught me handicrafts: embroidery, crocheting and knitting. A valuable treasure that many children today are missing out on.
I wish you a wonderful week.
Eva from Austria.
How lovely to see that scrap of Mum's instructions!
Well done on all your sorting!
Love all your knitted items!
Happy WOYWW! Susan #6
Quick visits today as I am still feeling pretty lousy. Desk visiting cheers me up bit at least! Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah
Oh how touching Jan that you have that paper from your mum. It's things like that that are pure gold to us. My mum saved all my Mother's Day Cards I ever sent her, now in a box here.
Congrats on the total almost reached and on all the knitting improvements, Santa looks much better with eyes.
You got it wrong - my crafting with a friend is done weekly but not physically together. We challenge one another to produce a journal page using certain parameters each Thursday but she is down south and I am up north. Been doing it years. Sorry I mislead you.
Hugs and glad the vertigo is improving, Neet 1 xx
Jan, your Mum would be so proud of you for your knitting, sewing and for all your fundraising for the RNLI. Nearly £11,000! Amazing. What a lovely keepsake you have there, with your Mum’s pattern.
I’m so glad you’re feeling better. Your snowman, mice and FC are so cute that I’ll forgive you for the earworm. My head’s going ‘Where on the stair, right there!’
Happy WOYWW
Hugs

I have a card with my mother’s writing on that is precious. I think I had vertigo on Monday. A strange feeling, so disorienting. Does it just come and go? I have not had it before. I have found that bending down to get something from floor level brings on a similar feeling sometimes. Glad you are feeling better. Hugs Angela #10
Your mum had clear handwriting so that little piece of paper will be useful for years to come and remain a beautiful memory of your mother. Love all your sweet knitted folk too. Happy woyww with hugs Angela x9x
Likewise my mum taught me how to knit when I was 5 years old and recovering from Scarlet Fever. I have always loved knitting and thankfully my fingers still allow me to do it. See you are still getting lovely material for your RNLI items. 11K that is a brilliant amount. (cant find a pound sign on my Spanish laptop)
