SO LONG AND THANKS FOR ALL THE FISH!

(Sorry, that's the only dolphin related thing I could think of, you'll see why later!)

I enjoyed the anniversary and the Zoom catch up on Saturday, so nice to touch base with folks who are true mates, be it for forty three years (Lynnecrafts!) or more recent additions!  Thank you to the lovely gals who sent some Crafty love through the post too:

Helen, Neet, Mary Anne and Angela - all gorgeous and will be going up on the JanCave shelves where I can see them all the time!

I've been busy sewing in the past week:

More little zipped bags in a grey dog print and black & pink cat version...

I've made a few cross body bags now, it's something else to put on the stall.

I really like the muted colours of this, we shall see if the punters agree (or not!) The little hearts in the box top right are zip pulls, they do add a nice touch to the finished article.

This mock up of a local draper's counter was in the National Wool Museum (free entry with lots of really interesting machines and demos, worth going if you're in the area around Newcastle Emlyn)  I spent a lot of time looking at all the bits and bobs..

especially the threads display:

You wouldn't want to disrupt the order would you?! My rucksack wasn't big enough to sneak this one out....*grin*

We had such a wonderful week away and did some lovely things - one highlight was on the last day when we went on a boat trip out of New Quay:

Row upon row of brightly painted Georgian houses, it's touristy but a lovely place to wander around for a few hours. The main reason for the boat trip and why Cardigan Bay is famous:

We were lucky enough to spot three, this one was the closest and was in the harbour area! Happy Days xx

Oh lucky you! A boat trip with dolphins! I think I need to visit that museum too. It sounds right up my street. I love the cotton reel storage - I have a bagful of part used wooden reels. You've done a great job with the bag Jan and those little hearts are perfect. Look out for snail mail. x x Jo 🌈

Wow! what a treat to see dolphins so close. Love the thread cabinet, not surprised you wanted to make off with it! that muted fabric you shared is just gorgeous, I would definitely go for it (it's the prints of umbellifers on it, I love the shape and ethereal nature of the flowers. I am sure they'll be popular. Happy WOYWW (and thanks again for the card) Helen #2

Only seen dolphins in captivity which was fabulous to be able to touch them but in hindsight was cruel, they should be out in the sea.
Cardigan bay looks lovely, what beautiful houses and such pretty colours too. I am in Morecambe Bay (well close) at the moment but the front is not as pretty as where you were although the look out across the Bay is beautiful.
Love the cat bag and am sure it will be a seller as there are so many ladies and young girls who love cats. Looks fab on a black background. Love the subtle fabric below too, dandelion fluffies are a favourite image of mine when making cards etc.
Have written to you.
Hugs, Neet 9 xx

I’m glad you had a good week away with your boyz and I’m glad you saw the dolphins. We didn’t see them when we went to Newquay, the sea was rough. I once saw a wild dolphin when snorkelling in the Red Sea, she let me stroke her belly. The nearest song I could think of is ‘Big Blue’ which is about a blue whale. I love the museum, so satisfying. and your crossbody bags are great.
Happy WOYWW

So pleased you had a good time away, I would love the drapers shop, brings back some memories of some old shops I used to know. Dolphins in the wild, what a treat. I am so sorry to have missed the Zoom meeting but hubby had to go away on Sunday to start the School visits so Saturday was just crazy. Wishing you a very happy woyww. Hugs Angela x10x

Wow! That must have been wonderful to see the dolphins. the thread display must have been very tempting! I wonder how much a box like that would cost. I expect you have enough thread to do it justice. Happy WOYWW. Angela #13

Hello Jan, I'm so glad you had such a lovely holiday. The photos are beautiful and I especially like the one of the dolphin. What an experience! The cross body bag is gorgeous, but you'd expect me to say that. My granddaughter would love it, I'm sure. She has three black cats! Have a wonderful week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #12

Oh you are going to have to share your top 10 fav dance tracks with me, love dancing. Today's quote also resonated with me, a phrase I use oftentimes. As to the dolphin??? I'll get there takes the grey matter some time these days. The cat print is super fun and the cross body bags brill. Oh love the muted seed head print too and the heart zip pulls, a lovely touch. LOVE the drapers counter, remember threads that size before Gutterman took over. Oh yes "Happy Days" another tune I like btw lovely to see the Doll-/p/-/h/-ins. Sounded out for son when he was little and it sort of stuck. Hugs BJ#1
