I WANDERED LONELY AS A CLOUD...
What a gorgeous week it's been, another few days of socialising, fund raising and walking...oh and a bit of crafting too! Otherwise this would be a very short post, lol!
I might have accidentally bought some new fabric last week! It was from Pili Pala Fabrics based near Tenby, the owner Sinead happened to be in my town on business and she dropped it off for me, now that's good customer service eh?! What a nice lady she is, I had paid for postage so instead she gave me half a metre of a fabric I've bought off her previously. This daffodils fabric is one of hers:
Pretty huh? It should go well round these parts.
I bought the mosaic and the rainbow leopard was my freebie, both will come in useful.
I finished the last baby blanket so started another:
I only bought two balls of that variegated blue/grey so am eking it out with white DK, I quite like the effect!
Last Saturday was the first of the Pembrey markets as some of you may have seen on FB:
It was a successful couple of hours - I took £208 and sold the quilt that's behind my head to the lovely beekeepers who run another stall. I'm nearly a third of the way to my 2025 target of £1500, if I do that then that'll take my fundraising to over £10k. There are two more stalls in April so we'll see how they go!
The tides here have been at their highest in recent days (9.32m yesterday) so when the sea goes out, it goes far far out. Hence our beach walk looked like this:
Where's all the water gone?! Isn't it amazing to think that if you walked straight ahead and kept going for a very long way, the next land you'd see would be Virginia or North Carolina. That's why, when the tide returns, there's a lot of Atlantic to come up this estuary. It was glorious to be out blowing the cobwebs off.
Hope you're all keeping well and have had a good week - may your crafting be stress free! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

That’s good customer service for you! I’m so glad you’re getting some good weather down there; daffodil weather, I used to think of it, when we came down from Newcastle to use up the last of my TTTV leave. Your daffy material should sell really well.
I love the baby blanket too. Have you bought yourself any of the Heeland Coo fabric you showed me yesterday?
Well done with the RNLI fundraising,
Hugs

What a lovely post Jan. Gorgeous fabric, blanket and a great result with your craft sales. That photo of your coast is awesome. The vastness is breathtaking when you imagine how much of the Atlantic rushes in and covers it.x x Jo 🌈
Well done you with the sales Jan....I can see why. The new fabric is gorgeous....lots more new makes on the way I'm sure. I need to find my mojo and some energy this week...this b**** bug has taken it all sadly.
Hugs,

Well done on your fundraising, your stall look amazing. Lovely photograph of the beach. I do love that wool you are knitting with and the white mixes in well. Happy WOYWW. Angela #11
You are so awesome at fundraising. Great customer service indeed - how wonderful that must have been and it's lovely fabric for sure. The quilt's a stunna so they did well to snap it up. When do you find the time?? VA and NC? Funny, it could be my relatives washing up from either :D
No knitting today, Poppy is not very well

Loving the new fabrics and looks like you've had a great week too. It's nice and sunny here today though windy too. Pleased you liked our cards. The one at the club isn't as difficult as it looks but takes time to prepare all the bits. Good luck with the target for 2025. Take care and have a good woyww, hugs Angela x9x
Well done with the stall at the weekend - you're smashing that target!! I love the daff material (you know your market lol) and the geometric. As always your post is a riot of colour. You may be joking about the ear defenders but I am seriously thinking about noise suppressing ear buds - I'm starting to find it really difficult to hear in big groups with lots of ambient noise. We went to a quiz last Saturday and I was exhausted with effort of trying to hear all night (It went on for 4 hours!!).
Have a lovely week, long may the sunshine last, Love n Hugs Cindyxx #10
Hello Jan, that is indeed service above and beyond expectations. Lovely fabrics too. Congratulations on the success of your stall and how well you have done with your fund raising so far. I wish you continued success over the summer so you reach the target you're aiming for. You must knit very quickly to have finished that baby blanket already and started another. I like the combination of the white with the variegated - it's very pretty. There's nothing like a bracing beach walk to blow the cobwebs away! That's the joy of living near the coast. Especially now the weather is improving. Hope you have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #13
As I didn't get around everyone last week I thought I would try and be early this - it may just be your Wednesday still but it is already my Thursday morning! What a lot of lovely fabrics! Well done on your fundraising so far - and good luck with your target! I was just reading about the Moelfre lifeboat saving a couple of kayakers this week. We lived in Moelfre for 7 years and always supported the RNLI there and in Beaumaris. I still have many of the canvas bags... Happy WOYWW! Susan #15
Dear Jan!
What a lovely posting on your blog!
The daffodil fabric is so nice. Spring time feeling.
You're busy with the baby blankets. And I send you congrats for your success at the fair.

That is one grateful vendor to do that. Love her fabric too. Definitely after dragons people will buy daffodils.
Love the addition of the white in the new blanket, it really does work.
I am sure you will reach the next milestone before long, you have such a lovely winning stall - and smile!
Hugs, Neet xx
The "walk" from Wales to North Carolina kind of blew my mind! I had to look on a map! It would be a very long walk! Lovely fabrics, especially the daffodils. I can't wait for our daffodils to emerge! Have a great week, Lindart #14
