 MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Hi there! I would like to say a great big thank you for all the fun, support and desky shenanigans this past crazy year - I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, however you spend it, and wish you health and happiness for 2022 xx

There's been very little crafting at Appleton Towers this week partly because this reprobate is home:

Son No 1 got roped into making some Christmas present tags, I don't think he'd stamped before and started out all careful and precise but reverted to type after about four and....

Just went random :-D I think he had fun? Maybe?

Thank you for some lovely cards, I do love receiving them, it's not often you get so much mail through the letterbox these days, and catching up on people's news is good. I now blu-tac the cards onto the double doors in the hallway, it's a fab gallery and I see them all the time:

They make me smile!

A friend saw this yarn bombing over in Mumbles, there were some excellent ones that need sharing:

I love this Knit-tivity one! What a lot of work, they must have started this a while ago. Good job, Ladies of Mumbles!

And I started feeling Christmassy last Saturday when I went out carolling with the band, we were warm and out of the wind, that never happens, normally we're freezing our little toes off. I had to remove a layer as I was too hot! Anyway, we had fun and it made up for not being able to play very much over the past few weeks:

I love playing in a brass band!

Have a good week everyone, enjoy the weekend, love and hugs to you all.

I wish you a very happy Christmas and healthy and crafty new year too. Great display of your cards, I haven't attempted to photograph mine. (thanks for yours) The carols in the sun looked amazing; wonderful that you were able to do that this year. Helen #?

And I love knowing I have a friend who plays in a brass band and brings so much joy to people in the area that the band are playing in. Well done you on giving your time kup to spread such joy, especially at this time of this year.
Love the yarn bombing, how come I never see such things? Did see one on the top of a postbox inside Morrison's in Morecambe the other week. Meant to go back and take a photo but didn't.
Love the photo of your son playing away and I adore his results when he got carried away.
Have a wonderful Christmas - here's to you and yours

Hi Jan, how good to get Owen involved in crafting! It was good to see you all last week on zoom. Your band set up looked positively cosy - it’s always great to hear a brass / silver band but especially at Christmas.
Ooh, those Mumbles yarnbombers have done well. I love the 3 wise men.
I hope you all have a great Christmas at Appleton towers.
Take care, stay safe and happy WOYWW

Awwww. Son Stamping is the best! Not sure I ever managed to get mine to do it...no, wait, I tell a lie. I think he did for some art class in secondary school! Wow. Dim and distant memory, that. Love all the yarn-bombing. Hope they have better luck with no vandals. Here, we have had the one lovely decorated post box abused more than once. Sad really. Let's hope the holiday season brings out the best in people this year!

A most Merry and Happy Christmas to you and yours! Stay safe and well this holiday season.

I’m doing the rounds of all my favourite blogs in between making strawberry/sherry trifles ready for our family get togethers.....the jelly is just setting a little before I put it on (don’t want to dilute the sherry 😂). I’ve got no sewing today so making the most of my time.
I really love the yarnbombing...how clever and really makes everyone smile that’s for sure.
I just want to thank you for your friendship and for all the lovely comments over the last year. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and 2022 is a little kinder on us all.
Hugs,
Annie x

How lovely to have your son home and glad to see you put him to work - he's not done a bad job! I love the yarn bombing - what incredible work has gone into them all - I love the little camel especially. Thank you for your beautiful card, it will definitely be amongst the little group that come out each year - I love it! I hope you got my card, a few seem to have been delayed as they needed a little extra cost for not being flat enough - I do struggle with that!
I hope you have a lovely Christmas with your family, stay safe and well,

Hi Jan, it's so nice seeing you get out with your lovely band again. And that does look the perfect venue too. No wonder you're grinning from ear-to-ear. The yarn bombing is gorgeous. I especially love the snowman. Judging by No.1 son's huge smile, I think he enjoyed time with you making the tags, even if he did 'revert to type':) Have a wonderful weekend. Merry Christmas. Aw, a fab post, am loving the work of the ladies of Mumbles…those nativity figures take an age alone, so there’s a huge amount of work there. Mind you, they must be very appreciated, they do look fab. Owen playing post office with the stamps makes me smile, but mostly that is a lovely picture of him, Gordon’s mini me!! Your card gallery is a lovely place to enjoy them, aren’t they such a varied collection. As always dear friend, thanks and love to you. We’ll talk. Xxx

Well I think the random stamping is great, super that he helped at all, my guys don't! Lovely cards, spotted the Hare! Oh and the yarn bombing - going from the snowman alone and confirmed by the rest, looks like down at the pier, spent many a late night there queueing for Cinderella's when I was in Uni. So glad you got to do some Brass Band playing and in the relative warm too. Happy Christmas, and yes hug your Owen close. BJ#13

Hi Jan. Thank you for popping by. Love the yarn bombing. Excuse lateness of reply.I love listening to a brass band. It's been a long time since I have. I felt unwell yesterday and ended up at GP surgery today. Water infection and on antibiotics. Have a lovely Christmas. Anne x 16
