WOYWW 644

AND THERE ARE NO ENDS TO OLD FRIENDS...AMEN

(Coldplay)

Happy WOYWW to all you lovely Deskers, hope you've had a good week. Tidy desks, messy desks, craft rooms, craft corners, everyone is welcome and it's always fascinating to see what folks are making!

It's been a busy week in the JanCave with lots of sewing going on and ironing too:

Handles, hems, fusible fleece, it all happens here - the ironing board is a permanent fixture though not that many clothes get done *grin* it's mainly for crafting! Though I do love a crisply ironed cotton pillowcase but I draw the line at teatowels and underwear, life is too short....

A tower of purses and cases!

I've had a bit of a fabric splurge this week, these cheeky Scotty Dogs were one buy....

...and these chickens made me smile!

The gorgeous Annie C gifted me some fabric with musical instruments on and so I made these which I'm going to try and flog to my various brass/wind band friends with the money going into the RNLI pot.

You don't often see fabric with tubas on so I enjoyed making these very much!

And the reason for today's lyric? I had a message from Morti that she and the family were coming to the area for a wedding and did we fancy meeting up? We reckoned it was at least six years ago that we got together so there was much to catch up on!

Morti, David, Me, Livvy and Gordon on Oxwich Beach! We had to dodge the squalls but enjoyed a coffee and chat, it went too quickly and they had other folks to see but it was a happy hour indeed. Hope it's not another six years before the next time!!

Have a good week and enjoy whatever it is you're up to xxx

That tuba fabric is just perfect!! I am sure your band mates will lap them up. How fab that you got to catch up with Morti and co, I did see her FB post about petrol for a trip to Wales for a wedding. Have a great week. Helen #2

What lovely fabrics (adore the chickens for sure) but it pales in comparison to the fab photo of you and Morti and gang! My goodness it's been ages since the last WOYWW crop I attended but seeing her was always a treat. What a fun get-together. Lucky you!

Happy WOYWW, early today :)

The fowl fabric is gorgeous. I had to say that. But it is, and so is the Scottie one, but oh the tubas! How good is that! Elle (eotc) always has some unusual fabric, I don't know where you gals find it all but you do. Have you got sniffer dogs?
The photo of you all on the beach is great, really shows you all off to a T - but how did you get it taken? Someone else must have taken it, surely.
Hugs, Neet 9 xx

Hi Jan, so glad you got to see your friends.
I hope your brass band purses and bags sell well for the lifeboats ( though might they complain about the misery sticks? 😏)
That chicken fabric is fun, too!
Take care and happy WOYWW

Cute fabric choices, I expect they’ll sell very quickly. Or should I say more quickly than usual, because your stuff doesn’t hang about at that cafe does it! So great to catch up the other day, and very happy to see you caught up with the Mortis. Great picture, you’d never know it was actually squally, looks quite lovely. Certainly better than the previous day, huh.

Oh I'm loving the fabric. And I bet you do enjoy that Tuba pattern, adorable
finished pieces. I put my iron to work this past 2 weeks also, moved fall clothes/sweaters/scarves so a few quick washer loads and pressing of wrinkles. Some gorgeous weather here. Always great to get visits from friends we've not seen in awhile. More of that happening here now. Enjoy a great week.

HI Jan! I LOVE all the new fabrics, hard to choose the one I like best...but I think it's the chickens! You are really sewing up a storm! How nice to meet old friends on the beach, 6 years is a long time! Have a great week, Lindart #23

I adore the fabrics with the musical instruments and the fun chickens! Gorgeous designs all. I should have expected you to have a pretty fabric ironing board cover! Lol at the ironing - a lot of crafters don't iron clothes! I agree with you about underwear, but I do iron my tea towels. I have a gorgeous tiny little iron in the studio for crafty stuff, and a metallic fabric ironing pad to use with it.

What fun to meet up with Morti! It looks as if you all had a fun day out.

Thank you for your visit, and I'm so glad you liked the cards I made. Now I've got my card making supplies more organised, I am actually enjoying card making, which I haven't really in the past, unless it was a really special one that I was prepared to spend a whole week making! I made one this afternoon from quite a lot of the stamped and die-cut flowers that were on my desk, and also made some more inserts and dividers for my organising - this time for the card-making basket. I hope your ancient tech keeps on working for you! Change never seems to be for the better these days - I was horrified to discover that modern printers won't print on acetate.

Happy WOYWW,

Life is definitely too short to iron your undies lol, gosh that is a lot of ironing/pressing though, brings back memories of when I felt like I was working in a sweatshop, I was sewing so much lol. Love your new fabrics and how nice to have a catch up. Happy WOYWW! Elle #21, EOTC

I have a stamp set by Picket Fence Studio called One Hot Chick that has chickens EXACTLY like some of the ones on that chicken fabric! Oh my gosh but that's a hoot!
How fun to meet up with old friends!
Have a wonderful week!

Happy Belated WOYWW. The chicken fabric is my favourite. I do like an ironed tea towel (the cotton variety, not the thicker ones that I actually use - I get given nice cotton ones for Christmas and don't use them!), but never ironed underwear in my life. Do people actually do that?! How wonderful to meet up with Morti & Crew, and at Oxwich. I took hubby there fairly recently - he had never been. It was a hot day and very crowded, but we enjoyed a drink at the hotel, followed by lunch at one of the cafes and then a walk through the dunes. Ali x #4
