Hello everyone! I feel a bit of a fraud joining in the the desk snooping today as I have no crafting for you....it's been a busy week of seeing family and friends and celebrating the Big 6.0.

I had a marvellous time on my birthday, I'm such a lucky gal.

Some of the lovely gifts and cards I received, the balloons are from Julia!

I have quite a few thank-yous: Wipso and Twiglet for my lovely rose and gin (you know me sooooo well, lol!), Lynne for my gorgeous pendant, Kim for the beautiful pin cushion you made and Lynn for the vintage jigsaw, all so unexpected but very much appreciated. I got some professional watercolour paints (Daniel Smith), new palette and brushes plus watercolour papers journals and a useful book. I shall hopefully be able to show you them in a bit more depth over the next few weeks as I attempt to get to grips with them.

And some wonderful cards too! Thank you Lynne, Helen, Sarah, Debbie, Kim, Diana, Lynn, Neet and Eva from Austria xxxx

My old uni friend Jane sent me this amazing pop up card, she thought it appropriate - I can't work out if she means I'm an old Dragon or because I'm Welsh *grin*

I spent quite a bit of time cooking for the party I had in the evening, lovely weather meant we were all in the garden. We had a fab time and some friends had clubbed together to get me this:

A hare figure! Apparently he sat in our friends' lounge for quite a while and they got rather attached to him and called him Tony, lol, so that has stuck and Tony is very happy sitting by my birthday pond!

I made my famous trifle for the party and so the following morning saw this:

Trifle for a hungover breakfast whilst watching the Olympics on telly!! I know how to live...... It was rather good, lol!

Hopefully normal service will be resumed next week, thanks for putting up with me!

what better time to do exactly what you please than your 60th?? Looks like you have been showered with goodies - enjoy the gifts and bask in the love of all your friends and family. That hare is fab and trifle for breakfast sounds lovely. I mean, it's got flour and eggs and jam and fruit and cream.....all good breakfast fare, although perhaps not in combo LOL! No judgment form the WOYWW clan, ever!
Happy Birthday once again!
Happy WOYWW.

Tony fits right in with the surroundings! What a lovely bunch of presents and cards, Jan! Sounds like you had a lovely time and friends and family helped you through the trauma of starting a new decade. I'm sure you'll make good use of those Daniel Smith watercolours - can't wait to see your beautiful creations. I could just about eat that trifle, yumm, but I'll settle for an ice cream from the freezer. See what you did! That little indulgence wasn't planned LOL! Have a happy week following a happy birthday! xx zsuzsa #25

Happy happy birthday to you! It looks like you had a wonderful time and lots of lovely cards and presents. That watercolour book caught my eye immediately. Hope you love the Daniel Smith, I'm a big fan, but I tend to buy single tubes of the colours I like. I love Tony the hare, he is quite a fine looking fellow sitting there guarding the pond. Happy WOYWW! Elle #20 this week

Sounds like you had a wonderful birthday and some wonderful cards and gifts. I love your hare, I have a similar one that my son had In a job lot he bought. Unfortunately the hare has a large damaged section so he is in in my craft room, positioned so you can’t see the damaged side. Trifle is one of my favourite things and that dragon pop up is marvellous. Have a great week Angela #15

So glad the birthday went so well - good, you so deserved a lovely day. Glad the weather was kind to you.
Love the hare - what a beautiful gift. And the dragon - I think it was purely because you are Welsh, and what a beauty he is
The leftover trifle looks delicious.

Happy Birthday!!!!! It looks like you had a fabulous time, lots of prezzies and cards, good friends and family to wish you well, and a gorgeous hare to boot! I'm sure you couldn't have asked for more! Yes, family and friends do beat a BMW, but it was so nice! I had never driven in one before, and since my best friend was driving, it made it all the better. Thanks for your visit, have a great week, Lindart #32

A very happy belated birthday, Jan! It sounds as if you celebrated in style, and what a lovely lot of gifts and cards too. Welcome to the Sixties! I've only got a couple of years to go before the big seven-oh which is a pretty terrifying thought... Trifle for breakfast sounds just the thing! Lol! We have got the identical hare in our garden! My sister had one and I fell in love with it, so we got one too. Very stylish. It was recently joined by a rabbit which has made a mysterious appearance - will have to quiz my hubby about that!

We have a friend whose family affectionately call her Dilly. It stands for Dragon-in-Law haha!

Thank you for your visit and your lovely comment. I'm so glad you enjoyed my various projects this week. I've made a start on the die storage since gong to the Range yesterday and getting some baskets to store them in. Now the dilemma is where to store the baskets.

Happy belated WOYWW,

Enjoyed reading and looking at what you have been up to.
I haven't been active on WOYWW for such a long time and I lost my Artistic mojo ages ago. I am hoping for inspiration looking at prolific artists like yourself.
Happy big birthday, looks like you had fun and lots of lovely gifts.

HI Jan, I hope you see this. Everytime I try to get to stamping-ground.blogspot I get a big red alert page that says it's from my Norton Security that her page is a "well-known dangerous page". I don't want to click on anything! I did a Norton scan and it's still there. I don't even know if it's really from Norton as I KNOW her site is NOT DANGROUS! Not sure what to do. Are you able to get to her site?
