IN YOUR EASTER BONNET WITH ALL THE FRILLS UPON IT
YOU'LL BE THE GRANDEST LADY IN THE EASTER PARADE.

Before I launch into this week's desky madness, I'd like to point you in the direction of this post by Julia, highlighting the details for CROPTEN on June 1st. Have a look and come if you can, it's such a fun day and worthy of celebrating 10 years of friendship.

I was very excited the other day...I finally got my (literally) sticky mitts on a hot glue gun! I've wanted one for ages and when the WI competition was Easter Bonnets. it was the perfect excuse!

I gathered everything Easter-y that I had and set to work.

I did have a lot of fun - the mug is my Quantum Entanglement (look it up!) mug, Julia has its twin and we think of each other when we're having a brew!

Et voila! Oooh, I really enjoyed myself doing this and came 2nd in the competition!

The Jancave desk has looked like this recently, I'm making more items to sell for the RNLI at the cafe down the harbour. They're going really well and I pop in weekly to see what needs making. The little purses are quite popular so here are a couple more:

It's nice to see all those colourful poppers again! I do have a lot of fun finding the right lining for the outer fabric - sad but true....

Ready to go...

As are these - the two dachshund ones sold as I was putting them in the box to people who were sitting at the next table! That was satisfying.

G's latest photo challenge was to take a pic inspired by his favourite photographer - we're big fans of Georgina Hughes (check her out on Google images) so we had a go at setting up a gardening still life (in the garage, as you do...)

The BBQ cover was draped over a stack of garden chairs and we played around with a trug, tools and seed packets.

This is what it ended up like as a photo:
I love it!! I might have to have this printed and framed...he's a clever so and so..... :-)

Have a great week everyone - don't forget to check out the Crop details!!

I'm already booked in for the crop Jan. G is certainly a very talented photographer. Love the Easter bonnet and so glad you finally had an excuse to get the glue gun lol. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #5

Yes your G is certainly clever but I think you help him too so you are a 'clever couple' who compliment one another.
Anyway, what more evidence do you need than all those lovely "makes" you are sharing with us today. The RNLI certainly got a gem when you moved down there. Incidentally, I think your matching lining to outer fabric is no different to us papercrafters with our background paper pads that we deliberate about. (Or should I say - take out/stroke/put back - because we cannot bear to part in lots of cases)
Have a good week lovely lady.
See you in June
Hugs, Neet 4 xx

Congrats on the Easter Bonnet Jan.. there will be no stopping you now with that Glue gun! Lovely purses and cases, everything you make always looks so clean and freshly made. Hubby's photo shot looks amazing, reminds me a little of a composition I did in watercolour for my A-Levels a good few years ago. Very in with the season.
Happy WoywW & have fun with that glue gun Tracey #7

Sorry I’m diving in straight to your photo, it’s fabulous. Well done and yes you must have it printed.
As for the hat, you are clever it’s brilliant.
I’m sorry I can’t make the crop Jan. I’m on a workshop in Brighouse that day so I’ll have to content myself with everyone’s pictures and blog write ups.

The saying 'it takes one to know one' comes to mind with you pair. Love all the sewing this week and wow just look at that photo. What a talented pair you are :-)
I'm filling a box here with things for you to take to raise funds and plan to sneak it to you at the crop ;-)

Omg I was admiring the sewed bits, but now I’m swooning over the photo! What a clever so and so....
We may have to go to the RNLI shop, the popper purses are incredibly useful! My response to your Easter Bonnet is crikey, what on earth could have come first then? I love it, what fun.

Oh Jan - that photo is really brilliant - Clever G but every photographer needs a great assistant! Your makes are going to fly off the shelves - you really do have the knack of mixing and matching - they will be perfect little gifts. Hope we see you modelling that little Easter bonnet - it's fab AND you have a hot glue gun too - there's lovely!! xx Jo

That photo your hubs took is just AWESOME, he's so talented!!! I've been thinking about buying a glue gun, but don't do much 3D and don't see the need... I am tempted though. The fun coloured bags look marvelous again, you are such a neat sewer! And I would LOVE to be present at the birthday crop to meet you all face to face, but my budget doesn't allow it... I will drool over all the photos you folks will probably share on your blogs :) Happy woyww amd a hug from Holland. Marit #18

Ooh Jan, I am in love with that gorgeous photo - I would so have that on my wall - I've said it before, your hubby is incredibly talented. And talking of incredibly talented, what a hat that is, and what gorgeous little purses and cases - you really are the queen of matching innards to outards (I think I made that word up but you know what I mean!).
Hope you have a great week,
Hugs, Diana xx

The RNLI is one of my permanent charities. They do such a sterling job, risking their lives to keep others safe. You have so many pretty things on show today. I am really looking forward to the crop and meeting everyone and I will be bringing my parchment things with me. Have a great week. xxx Maggie (Silvercrafter) #8

Dachshunds are clearly of the moment. Love your Easter Bonnet - can't imagine another better. G is proving to be a wonderful photography student - love the finished photo. Have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth X #28

PS: Will look up the photographer next time I'm on my computer rather than this mobile - so much easier.

That's a fabulous photo - stunning! We have a hot glue gun, but I never see it as Alex is permanently sticking something together with it - it is his favourite toy for creativity. I am going to do my best to join the crop but it is half-term and I have potential childcare issues which I am trying to sort. Thanks for sharing. Happy WOYWW and have a lovely week. With love & God Bless. Caro xxx (#26)

Hi Jan, fantastic Easter Bonnet - well done on the 2nd place. I don't blame you for wanting to frame G's photo .... it's brilliant! Thanks for stopping by earlier ... aww I would love to give my mum an extra big hug, but sadly this will be my 30th Mother's Day without her, and yes, I still miss her terribly! Have a lovely week, hugs Heather xx #11

What a great post! I love the Easter Bonnet, how cute! I have made many of those little pouches for my school in the past, I have so many leftover - I should try selling them! Yours are much better than mine, though... That photo - looks so professional! I would frame it for sure! Neat to see the before pic! Thanks for your visit, sorry I'm so late! Happy Very Belated WOYWW. After a full day with business/study and spring cleaning (5 hours this morning getting the hot tub emptied/cleaned/refilled), I am finally sitting down with my laptop watching the F1. An F1 weekend is always a good time for me to catch up with non-business stuff. No wonder those Daxie designs were sold immediately. Love that fabric and the bright lining. I love how much effort you and G put into all your projects. Congrats on the No.2 spot with the Easter Bonnet. I sold both of my glue guns after never actually using them! Good thing, as I think I would have burnt myself. I struggle with hand dexterity now (apart from typing, which I can still do without even thinking about it). Ali x #15
