GOING NOWHERE, IT'S REALLY SOMETHING
GETTING BUSY, DOING NOTHING...

I know last week's post was a long one, but it was great to see that so many of you enjoyed the tale of the felty day!  It's a shorter post this week but I have three desks-worth to share!

I'm going to be running the local WI Craft Club with Janet (felting partner-in-crime) - we had a good brain-storming session on the hour long drive back from the workshop. The first is going to be felt Christmas ornaments, so I had to make up a couple of samples:

Just playing!

The crafters can either make something like this, or pink the edges and do running stitch around the edge. And use a fabric scrap for the wing or just some felt. Use a wooden button or a coloured one...it'll be interesting to see how the choices pan out!

I've booked a table for the WI at the local Christmas Carnival fair, where we'll be making a variety of products to raise some cash...jams, chutneys, lemon curds, mincemeat, crafts, pine cone firelighters, bunting. I've done these as my contribution:

Desk No 2!

Maybe some of the Christmas birds will end up on the stall as well, who knows?!

I dug out the Christmas fabric from my stash as well, in order to make bunting. Funnily enough, I don't have that much, but am determined to use it all up!

Desk No 3!

I also got out some fabrics to run up 4 more drawstring bags for my brother Steve to sell to his dancing classmates, to keep their dancing shoes in - all in aid of the RNLI.

This makes me happy!  I have had time to do more makes this week, as my left ankle (hypermobility syndrome = poorly/sore) has curtailed my walking a bit. WHICH I AM NOT HAPPY ABOUT!!! Ah well.....

We popped up to Llandeilo yesterday - the autumn colours in the Towy Valley were stunning - and I had to pop in to Deb's Wool Shop, where I got a huge hug :-D  I needed to buy some of the tinsel wool for a Christmas project...

Do you think a Christmas mini skirt is a good idea??! ;-)

Have a great crafty week!! xxxxx

And there was I thinking it was a beard for Santa!
What's this about the ankle? Must be awful having your mobility impaired with all that lovely walking area you have. Still, guess it gives you more time for more of those lovely felt makes. Benefits for the RNLI!
Good for you co-running the WI - good luck and may it prosper.
Hugs, Neet 2 xx

Oh good for you. I bet you get some variations indeed...I shall look forward to seeing them all, I do love a bird! I think a tinsel mini is absolutely the way to go, it will help you feel as if you’ve done twice the walking distance because you’ll get twice the cat calls wolf whistles and car crashes!!

That Christmas skirt will surely keep the chill at bay hee hee!!
I have to say I do love a felt Christmas ornament and have many little numbers adorning my Tree, don't forget the Gingerbread people, they always look so cute.
A real delight to see so much creativity upon your work space Jan.
Thanks so much for sharing & Happy woyww Tracey #6

Oh Jan, your photos are always so clear and crisp. Just beautiful colors here. I love your fun decorations. That cute little bird with the heart wing !!! We have had nice days here for this time of the year but almost NO sunshine to brighten things up. Wee hours of morning here, but plans are changed I will be spending the day with my mom. Have a great week.

I'm doing my best to call in on all my favourite blogs before the 6 bears arrive!
I'm loving all your sewing makes this week and as for the knitting I think you need to make it rather longer...that wont keep the necessary warm even.

Hi Jan, lovely post - I get such vicarious pleasure from your fabric collection. 😀 The felt bird is gorgeous, as is the 'mini skirt'. And you've given me an idea for what to make my little granddaughters - no, not a mini skirt but a fluffy party capelet - that yarn is perfect. Sorry to hear about your foot - hope you recover quickly. Hugs, Elizabeth X #22

you are so very busy Jan, ha I had to laugh about the mini skirt, I love the texture of that textile though, I had thought it was going to be a tree skirt... ( probably because, I had been thinking of wanting one for a bitty tree for a booth display so, reading the words made me smile) :) ~Stacy #27

Happy Belated WOYWW. So much activity and production in your post again this week. Sorry to hear your ankle is sore. I am back to sore feet, as I always get in the winter, so ordered myself some comfy Clarks slippers this morning (early morning online shopping is always good!). Ali x #3

At Llandeilo visiting the wool shop without mentioning the Ginhaus, an unlikely story! Thanks for the 4 "dap bags" they look very good, hope they make good stocking fillers, or even the stockings themselves as they are quite cavernous and Santa could get lots of prezzies into each one. Bro Steve :-)

Thanks for your return visit, Jan. Your village pet services sound really fun - reminded me of the ones in the village where we used to live. They were also outside, and we also used to get various sheep and assorted farm animals coming along too! We also had a lot of kids which was better because they used to bring their guinea pigs and rabbits etc. We don’t get any regular kids in our church and I find that very sad. Your Celtic knitting designs sound gorgeous - have you got any photos? You should take it up again! I’ve made a start on the new knitting and it’s going pretty well.

A christmas mini skirt is a VERY good idea, photo's of you wearing it please! The felt birds (and also the hearts) have a 'Scandinavian feel' to it which I love! We never put up a tree in our house but I can imagine a tree filled with all those little felt ornaments... I think I even would love it (but I'm afraid my beloved won't... he's a bit 'fobic' about X-mas thingies *haha*) Thanks for stopping by my blog the other day, happy ~belated~ Woyww and a big hug from Holland.
