ME AND MY SHADOW....

Well, the weather has really helped this week, don't you think? It's been so glorious, being in the sunshine just makes you feel better. Consequently, not much indoor crafting has taken place and what there was, I can't share with you yet as I completed all my ATCs for the Anniversary swap in a couple of weeks' time! Woohoo, go me getting my act together, THAT doesn't happen very often, I can tell you :-D

Most of the activity has been outdoors:

Our garden is in the process of being re-landscaped, the lovely Les and Oscar have dug out all the bamboo, which let me tell you, was no mean feat. They have levelled up the ground and have started to peg out the deck area, borders and paths. G and I have always done this ourselves in the past but this was a heavy job. I'll show you how it gets on in the next couple of weeks!

This was a semi-circle of rotting wooden decking, it's going to be my raised veg patch, keeping the overall shape - it's like my very own walled garden!

My Outdoors Desk aka the Black and Decker Workmate! Our wooden patio table and chairs were looking a bit sad so we decided to paint them - Dusky Gem is the colour, it's very lovely indeed!

Well, it's got to be tried for size and comfort! All that's missing is a G&T :-D

It was a high tide this time last week, a beautiful evening - since then the superstructure of the new RNLI boathouse has gone up (the other side, just to the right of the brick building) It's going to be an amazing asset for the area and both lifeboats will be housed there. Burry Port is the second busiest inshore station in Wales so it's sorely needed. I did my first stint as a volunteer in the shop on Sunday and learned that the most important thing is to get all the stuff for sale out of the way quickly if there's a shout!

And just for Julia and Helen:
Taken before Rhys went back to uni to sit his Finals, I can't believe that he's coming to the end of three years' study at Winchester...blimey, that's gone quickly.

Take care, sorry about the lack of desk this week but hopefully there may be something to share next time!

Transformation with the garden is amazing....I don’t blame you for getting help in. That bamboo must have been a nightmare to remove. Love the new colour of the patio furniture....looks the perfect place for crafting but yes a G and T looks needed....you’ve earned it.
Hugs,

Your garden space is still creativity, just in another form.
Well done on getting your ATC's together you really do deserve a GnT and it would look perfect upon your newly painted outdoor furniture. Enjoy!!
Wishing you sunshine & creativity Tracey #5

Actually I like your outdoor desk this week. It was very sunny and sported a brand new color, too. I can't wait to see your veggie garden.

I have bamboo in my back yard. I dug mine up one year. I dug and dug and dug (you get the picture), and the next year, the bamboo came back. I can't seem to get rid of it no matter how much I have given away in the past. Good luck that you got it all.

Happy WOYWW from #3 and congrats on finishing your ATCs. I haven't started mine.

Desk? Workspace is good enough. Golly how big that piece of garden looks without the bamboo and grass! Am super impressed about the bamboo busting boys, they must have arms of steel! The furniture looks wonderful, it’s like a disguise isnt it, a coat of paint!

Spending time outside when the weather is just perfect for it is the way to do it! If I had a garden that would be my make shift desk too. Your garden looks just fab! Have a splendid week! xo Cheetarah #28

Well, now you have finished painting that outdoor furniture (love the colour) you can come over and begin tidying the garage - yes, there is still lots to do - have you ever seen somewhere two hoarders live? Mind you my hoarding is 'sentimental stuff' and his is 'cardboard boxes" (go figure) and pieces of wood. Not that he is a handy man at all but I did insist that if he kept one plank he removed all (and I mean "all") the nails from it.
Our garden has a real slope on it, too big to do anything with I think - unless we come into lots of money. Neither of us are gardeners but I can tell him what needs doing and he has sawn a dead bush down today - we are getting there. I love being 'foreman'.
Gorgeous view of the port - and so sunny again. You certainly get the weather down there.

Hi Jan, I love what you've done with the table and chairs. I can understand what you mean about the bamboo, they are tuff plants once they get going. Thanks for the lovely comment over at mine and happy WOYWW, Angela x15x

Hi Jan, the garden was the best place to be this weekend! Yes, a GnT would have completed the picture. Love the table colour! Thanks for stopping by earlier, I would love to swap ATCs, I just need to get my crafting head on, get some inspiration and crack on! Have a lovely week Heather x #11

Oh Jan what a lovely garden you're going to have. I'd love to have a nice brick 'fence' around my garden, or even part of it. Alas, living in the woods does not allow that. Thanks for the visit.

You have been busy haven't you - the garden furniture looks lovely in that colour - I'm now feeling the need to jazz ours up as it's looking it's age. The garden is coming along beautifully - I bet you can't wait for home grown veggies.

Digging out bamboo???? Ohmy, that's an epic job!!! Last year, I wanted bamboo in a pot on the balcony and my friend said I could come and dig some from her garden to have... it took me hours to dig out a few small and sad looking shoots... (but they settled nicely in my pot and will grow big, I hope!)Good luck with the 'fun part' - relandscaping! Thanks for visiting my blog yesterday, enjoy your week! Hug from Holland, Marit #4

You did a good job with that patio set, Jan! Ours needs painting as well - we keep saying that we'll get a new one but we never do. Your garden is now a blank canvas - open to all sorts of possibilities! A vegetable patch sounds lovely - but watch out for the slugs - the blooming things eat everything in sight! Thanks for your visit on Wednesday - have fun this weekend! zsuzsa #19

Can you send them over to do our garden?! We still haven't done anything with our back garden (only been here nearly 5 years). Hubby is promising this summer once we have sorted someone out to run the run on a contract, but he has promised this at least twice a year since we moved in - so I am not stressing out about it too much! The paint colour is gorgeous. Ali x
