IF A PICTURE PAINTS A THOUSAND WORDS.....

Hello lovely WOYWWers - hope you've all had a great week. I'm particularly pleased to see Shaz Silverwolf (and hublet Doug) back from Kos, where they experienced an earthquake and aftershocks whilst on holiday. Your FB antics were interesting Shaz but I'm glad you're ok!

Right...the desk. I didn't know what to do next after all the making for the RNLI and my scraps box was exploding even more. I thought I'd take inspiration from you papercrafters and do some masterboards, but out of fabric. I have no idea what they'll be used for but it was mindless crafting to fill an hour or so!

Just putting scraps together....

That sort of thing....

The scraps box doesn't look any different really huh??!

The RNLI Open Day was last Saturday, the weather was fab and loads of people turned out to support a really valuable (and totally voluntary) rescue service in our town.

Recognise some of these? Some items didn't even make it onto the table and were snaffled up beforehand, lol!

There is lots of equipment to keep up to date...

The crews did some presentation stuff, capsizing the boat etc. That's the old boathouse in the background, a brand new one begins construction in Nov - it's going to be amazing and much easier to launch the boats.

This crew whizzed off to rescue some kayakers as a demonstration (other crew members in reality)

Bringing them back into harbour - the whole operation was extremely quick. The Burry Port station is the third busiest in Wales - we are on an estuary with a huge tidal range and sandbanks far out to sea where it's all too easy for people to get cut off.

Beautiful but needs to be treated with respect.

And last, but definitely not least, we took delivery of a new coffee table this week.....

It was tested to its limits and deemed worthy :-D

So lots of pictures and not many words today, hope you've enjoyed! xxxxxxxxxx

Love your cat photo - beautiful!
You have some lovely photos for us this week Jan, not that you don't always. DH certainly has the ability to take wonderful pictures for everyone to enjoy. Sounds as if the RNLI Day was good and you certainly had the weather by the look of things. Who said it always rains in Wales? Doesn't seem as much has fallen since you moved down there.
Have a great week - one more down to the crop.
Hugs, Neet 8 xx

Hi Jan, I'm not taking part in this weeks WOYWW, but wanted to see what you have been up to.

Not surprised your items flew off the table.

Did chuckle at your cat testing the new coffee table.

Hope you have a lovely day. Sue

Hiya Jan, thanks for the welcome back. Twas indeed a bit surreal to be honest, but what irritated me most was being woken up and having to leave the room. All I was interested in was getting back to sleep, lol. Good to see Ron has given the table his paw print of approval. Lovely to see all your stuff for the sale, and yes, Lifeboats deserve as much support as we can give them. Bit like the Air Ambulance- crazy that something so vital is all voluntary.Have a lovely week, love & hugs, Shaz XxXx

LOL cats, they just can't help themselves, can they? I have a similar photo on my blog involving an Ikea cart! I just love all those colours and patterns in your stall display! Beautiful stuff! Love the way you pieced together the scarps into a "masterboard" as well. I wonder what the next step could be? It's not something I would want to cut up, but maybe add to it? Like make a giant throw, or something? Or a curtain??? Oooh, yes, it would make an awesome curtain for a colourful craft room! Enjoyed your photos of the RNLI show! Have a lovely week, Jan! zsuzsa #26

Hi Jan, love ginger cats and yours is just gorgeous, and seemingly has a way of making sure everything has the paw of approval. Even a coffee table needs to be tested to see if it fulfills all feline requirements :) I like the idea of your fabric motherboards. They could be used for all sorts of things - little zipper bags, tablet or book covers, or simply the start of something much bigger. The possibilities are endless. Love the photos from the RNLI day - that's DH's chosen charity too. Hope you have a great day. Hugs, Elizabeth x #28

Jan, I wrote a post for you early this morning, but it seemed to have disappeared. So your patchwork piece in second picture looks really right for a baby mat.
Thanks for visiting my page, yes we are really stepping into the big unknown, and very sad to be leaving Wales, but canals are not very numerous in Wales
take care,

Happy WOYWW and thanks for your visit to my blog earlier. I am finally sitting down with my laptop. Fantastic stall for the RNLI. They are such a wonderful 'volunteer' service - and obviously much-used down in Pembrokeshire too. I used to have a ginger cat - she was called Scampi, and still miss her many years later. We will meet evetually !! Ali x #11
